If you don't trust the files you're welcome to gather and archive them yourself from other sources. Regardless of your choice, and for everyone else downloading from the archive, consider running your PDFs through DangerZone: https://github.com/freedomofpress/dangerzone Related talk explaining the concept and program: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XBwT1vnf1CQ

I know it's not the OP's question, but for anyone reading this thread - you don't really learn hacking by reading books, you learn it by doing, by writing code that does stuff, etc.

I don't see what the point of hoarding this stuff is, if you need books about a certain topic you're working on you can do some research to find out what you need. >>24234 Agree but a book on the side is not going to hurt you, especially if you're just delving into new things. Ideally you'd look at something while it is being explained and try to figure it out yourself, it's not always going to work but it will help in the long run.

Having the majority of the greatest and most authoritative books ever written on an easily-reproducible usbstick in your pocket is a nice hedge against possible future political repression or other long term disaster. What if some ancient Greek had been able to do that before the Library of Alexandria was burned? Today we only have scattered fragments of what was there, but some of those fragments are considered extremely precious even now.
