Which bootloaders have you used? Which ones do you prefer? Why? I have never used anything other than GRUB, but I am thinking of using Clover now.
Now to give you some backstory as to why I am asking this question, I am about to run a very paranoid setup. However, I am only stuck with one machine for everything and I also use it at home with a docking station and in public (it's portable). Most of the identities that I use at home must be kept separate from the ones I use when I am outside and hence I hotswap the drives when I go out (I have a ThinkPad with a caddy). The identity I use in public shouldn't be paranoid, not even in the slightest and hence I should act "less careful" in order to blend in. So, I have decided to install an extra bootloader on a removable device, that should act as "bridgeloader" between the systems yet independent from both, that is, if I ever need it. The drive will be removed once booted and hence will be less likely to get compromised if something happens to the OS for the less-paranoid setup.
