Creating an untracable Facebook account
John Rain · 2023-10-31 14:40
I know facebook is just about as data-mine'y as websites get, I have deleted my account years ago and never used it since but the local deals you can find on the marketplace are very tempting. I have been brainstorming a way to use it annonymously and so far this is what I came up with:
The solution to the first obstacle which is tracing me back through my connection directly is pretty straight cut and obvious - using tor.
The second obstacle is the fact that facebook requires a phone number and the country in which I reside mandates SIM card registration which inevitebly ties my real identity to any local phone number. I have circumvented this by obtaining a SIM card from the Czech Republic which does not mandate SIM card registration.
Third obstacle is where it gets dicey and potentially legally questionable. Facebook requires ID verification. From what I have read online it seems that the review process is outsourced to people in some thirld world country so they don't really really give a fuarrrk and let through whatever looks passable - therfore a well photoshopped ID should slip right through. What I'm worried about is the potential legal consequences providing a fake ID to Facebook could yield if by some miracle I do get found out. Is it essentially the same as waving a fake ID to a cop during a traffic stop or is the law generally more lenient when it comes to false identification while dealing with a private entity like Facebook?
Last step would be avoiding any sort of profiling and unlikely but potentially possible cross-identification with the profiled data from my old account (which I'm sure they are keeping somewhere despite their claims that they delete it after you terminate your account). The way I would go about it is using adnauseam configured to simulate me clicking on every single post shown on the feed. I know using plugins with tor is not recommended but this would be a strictly facebook-only instance never used to browse any shady onion links so I doubt any potential security loopholes it could introduce would be a threat.
Have I missed anything important? The thing I'm most worried about is the whole fake ID situation but there really is no other way to get around it.

why not get a homeless dude to do the whole thing for you. Pay him fifty bucks or whatever and make sure you know all the relevant login info and sec. questions and sheet. He could even buy you a sim card in his name if you needed.

I don't think there's a lot of homeless people with IDs on them and I'm also kinda scared of talking to them - though probably not as much as I am scared of being arrested for forgery. It could work, will look into that.

Those cunts can get children's organs and blood while I have to use my real name on zuckbook. This ain't fair I'm telling you!
Hacker · 2023-10-31 23:37
Does Facebook require id verification for all new accounts now? I deleted my account years ago and never went back, but at the time they were only requiring id if you were doing name changes, had a derezzed name, or had an unrealistic name that someone reported.
>potential legal consequences
You'll need to share your country for anyone to give you advice on that. If you're using it for making legal purchases on marketplace and they find out it was a fake id, they'd probably just ban your account. I doubt they'd report it to law enforcement unless you were doing something illegal (other than the fake id)

I seriously doubt you even need an untraceable Facebook account. You know that Facebook has partnered with law enforcement and hacking firms to de-anonymize at least one user (Buster Hernandez) before right?
I'd want to generate a face with AI, obviously you need to perform reverse image searches on it to ensure that it isn't listed anywhere on the internet. Or you could photoshop somebody. If you're making a fake ID this site will make it easier as it just randomly generates them for you https://www.elfqrin.com/fakeid.php, again they're not real IDs but if you wanna throw fake information at some dick who is asking questions this makes it easy.
Assuming you are doing all of this on your base operating system you will have to enable javascript when using Facebook which will reveal your hardware information and browser fingerprint to them, allowing them to correlate your activities on Facebook with your activities on the rest of the internet. Additionally you open yourself up to a slew of attacks against your browser to leak your IP address or infect your system. Conducting this activity in a virtual machine is a must. You'd be best off using Whonix as it will protect you against standard attacks set to leak your IP address out of the box, attackers have to escape the hypervisor. Ideally you would physically isolate your Tor router from your workstation but that's probably too much work for using Facebook.
If you have a secure means of controlling the SIM and bought the SIM anonymously, there shouldn't be any way to link your identity to this activity so you wouldn't need to worry about faking an ID. Realistically, Facebook isn't going to pursue somebody legally over a fake ID anyway

Where can I buy a sim anonymously?

use a homeless guy as an air gap. Give him the money for it off camera and send the lad in. Best approach per cameras is just to walk or they'll have your license plate, and obviously leave your other phone at home. Tell him what you're doing, he doesn't give a soykaf, and offer him double whatever cash you put in his hand to go into the store when he gets comes back out.
No homeless? Understand facial recognition, then do your makeup to change those points. You don't need to look sane, put on a tranny costume for best results. Change your gait. This will be the most overlooked part of doing this solo. Pic rel, but Amazon was also incorporating VR systems for a much more comprehensive individual models, to include much more then gait. Options which preclude your constant attention to detail include putting insoles in a single shoe to change your balance, then weight different parts of your body with training weights. Wrists are important, use a different weight in a different position on each arm to further hobble your ability to walk comfortably. None of this will be perceptible to people who see you, at most thinking you walk with a limp. Wear gloves and pack the finger tips to make your arms slightly longer.
Keep in mind, after leaving, at some point you've established is off camera, you need to clean all of this soykaf up mid travel. This is easily the most difficult part as you need a crowded area without cameras for maximum efficacy, and should you fail, this is the part in the chain where a detective can easily pin you down to 4-5 people, an entirely insignificant barrier to discovery. The easiest way would be sabotage: Know where the maintenance room is? Turn everything off. The one piece you're forced to leave behind is if you're fingerprinted walking home from this event and someone can't correlate your entry to the facility you (lightly)sabotaged or, upon that finding, why you're the only person without a phone. This is why people density is important, but the more dense, the more you can assume the cameras have battery backups.
On top of all that, now you have to persistently dissociate the sim from your daily activities making it almost fuarrrking impossible to use anyway. A script could filter your real sim always being present when your anon sim turns on, or a detective can just visually identify you given cameras correlated with the location of the anon sim connects. I approach it from a practical perspective, but chances are you're not doing anything illegal enough to warrant an investigation comprehensive enough to deanonymize you. Hiding from corporations is simple because they're held together by coagulated stupidity. Hiding from Lain is impossible.

You could try https://jmp.chat/ but I don't know if they support SIMs yet. You could pay a homeless person to get one for you. The other issue is that you're probably running this whole thing off of a phone, which is linked to your identity assuming it's not a burner phone. If it is a burner phone it can still trivially be linked to your identity, it's very hard to keep it separated from your real identity due to their highly privacy-invasive nature. You can't bring the phone anywhere near your home without putting it in a faraday cage first. Ideally you remove the battery from it if possible or drain the battery before bringing it home. If you can remove the battery I guess it doesn't need to be in a faraday cage. Another thing is that if you go to a store to purchase a phone or SIM card the device can be traced back to the store it was purchased from, and the authorities can then search through CCTV footage to identify you, this has been done before. So you'll have to wait ~3 months before using the SIM if you were recorded on video purchasing it yourself. You can do some dumb soykaf like wearing a costume but it won't help, only like 5-10% of your face needs to be visible for facial recognition to identify you. If you use a hobo to buy for you that's a bit better but if you are in the vicinity of the store it's not like you can't be identified, the hobo's movements will be followed until they regroup with you. The best thing to do would be purchasing a digital SIM with Monero that you can control securely through Tor, there have to be some services offering this online. The only problem is they tend to be blocked. You could solicit someone online and get them to verify for you.

I live in Poland. I have already made a few accounts to test the waters. Phone number is mandatory right away but I got that covered with the Czech prepaid SIM cards. It usually asks for ID verification a few weeks later, probably cause it marks the account as a suspected bot account if you don't have any likes, friends etc.
I don't plan on buying anything illegal and if I did I wouldn't look on Facebook - not like you can find anything there. Another thing I'd use it for is for finding help with some of my more technical hobbies, there's a lot of private groups where you can get answers from experienced people very quickly. I'd use a local language model to generate the content of the post from a prompt in order to avoid my way of writing being linked to my real identity.
>>22781
Will definitely consider using a VM. The prepaid unregistered SIM cards were bought in person with cash in another city - I was going there to pick up another item anyways. only trace of the transaction is a fake account on an online listing website asking where and when I can pick it up (all through tor of course, without a VM but JavaScript was disabled so I think it's fine) so I would say it's probably anonymous.
>>22784
Fooling facial recognition isn't enough over here. Like I said any SIM card you buy has to be registered in order to be used. Usually done with your real name, PESEL number (something akin to a social security number in Poland) and the serial number of your ID.
Turner · 2023-11-01 08:22
Wow facebook has gotten wild as fuarrrk, At this point its probably easiest to go onto an account marketplace and just buy one from a brewing soykaf pro.

This is unironically based.

Better yet I'll make an account from my country with a phone number that is tied to a physical sim card. (I'll destroy the sim card after wards for.both our safety). The problem is that that you want a zuccbook account for the local market use which will obviously compromise your identity.
other than that I don't think lying to a social media platform is a crime so I don't think you'll have problems with forgery, but I don't know how strict your country is. That's some black mirror soykaf

A corner shop/newsagents/gas station whatever you call it. but you can get temp access to one via the interwebz if u are too hikikkomori to just do that or are so concerned about anonymity you dont want to be on CCTV

I think you're overthinking everything given your threat model. Just use a virtual phone number and access Facebook through their onion service. They're not going to make any serious effort to deanonymize you when you're just using marketplace and joining groups.
Neo · 2023-11-01 21:55
Just use a VPN with an IP of a country with better data protection laws that stop Facebook from making certain requests at all.
