Hello Lains, let me explain my current situation. I live in a duplex condominium sharing a wall with my neighbors, and I have good reason to believe that they are monitoring me through this shared wall somehow. I know this because my neighbor doesn't have an inside voice and has announced what I'm currently doing multiple times, thinking I wouldn't hear him. And there's no way he would know what I'm doing without some sort of surveillance system that could penetrate walls. What could I do to retaliate against this violation of my privacy?

Yeah needs moar info: - What were you doing + what did he say - What kind of drugs do you do - What ambient noise was present - Other strange sightings/sounds if any The front camera on a smartphone can usually see infrared. Test it with a TV remote. If so then completely darken the room and use the phone to look for cameras with night vision that uses infrared. You'll have to hold it away from you and point it over your shoulder but it's not hard to spot. Some simple diagnostics can help you narrow it down. Try to move around silently for some time when you know he's home. Do distinct activities (i.e. not just sitting around) to give him something specific to describe, but only ones you can do without making any (or much) noise. Or mask noise with some music, running water, or white noise. Then in the next test, play some audio files of recognizable activities at a clearly audible volume while you're sitting still and doing nothing. See which one he comments on.

I have paranoid schizophrenia and have been through similar stuff and this 100% sounds like you're starting to develop it. Early intervention is very important. Maybe see a psychologist/psychiatrist even if you're not completely sure that you have it. If you get on high enough of a dose of an anti-psychotic and your neighbor stops doing this stuff, then you can be pretty certain it was just mental health issues.

Worst case scenario they see you as a loser and maybe laugh at you behind your back for their own entertainment but more than likely you're invisible to them and they simply don't care about you. You're not important enough (or a threat) as a person to have people spy on you. The people you come across are just average wageslave NPCs or unemployed getting social welfare checks, they are not smart enough and are too lazy to waste their time spying on you.

Two possibilities: 1. The most likely possibility is that you're developing paranoid schizophrenia and you're having paranoid delusions. In that case you should find a good psychiatrist who can actually help you. There are a lot of duds, but maybe you'll get lucky. 2. Less likely, but still possible: Your neighbor is an asshole who enjoys trolling people. It's pretty easy to use a simple suction-cup listening device to amplify what can be heard through a wall. In this case, if you want to have peace of mind you could do the following: - Play background sounds like music or just white noise to obfuscate any sounds you make. - Hang heavy curtains along the full length and height of the shared wall. - If you can record the guy harrassing you (which is very hard to do but not impossible), post the recordings on YouTube or somewhere anonymously. Harrassment works both ways. E.g. tape your cellphone to the shared wall with an audio recorder app running while ho'e being an asshole. I let my psychology student gf read your post and she says you should really get yourself checked out by someone who knows what they're doing. Schizophrenia is completely treatable nowadays and the earlier you get it looked at the better.

Schizotypal personality is lowest but that doesnt include hallucinations or full on delusions just odd beliefs, then between is schizofreniform which is more short term psychotic condition then schizophrenia for long term. Antipsychotics also should only be used for initial psychotic break and then slowly dosage reduced. Long term usage actually reduces remission and recovery rates. Also someone can hallucinate from just lacking proper sleep. When I lay in bed at night there was quite a few times I swore I heard utterances about me but it was just my brain misinterpreting ambient sounds.

Look up this neighbors info if you can't find any then they are likely federal government agent as any form of LEA or federal government employee can have their info sealed. Has this "neighbor" always lived there before you moved in or after? Do they hangout or are social with the landlord? When you mean they have announced what you are doing do you mean like paper thin walls cuz even when I rented a house and a apartment I could hear my neighbors when they were sexing lol Many cheap motels and places might have cameras or microphones and not tell people cause the people running them are scumbags if you end up finding some then i would report it to authorities or get a lawyer cuz this is illegal (fun fact many places now want to include Alexa/Google home and smart appliances).

But if you want a genuine answer, cover your wall in foil so thermal imaging doesn't work and have some kind of device that produced a whirring sound like a fan or dehumidifier touching the wall constantly so it transduces enough to muddle any kind of auditory peeping. I would suggest taking your meds before going through any more drastic steps though.
