/sec/ van in today's world

Hello Lainons, I have been considering a camper van living setup for a while now for various reasons. I have been looking at something like Ford's Transit Connect or Ram's Promaster City for a while: compact form factor, not too bad on gas mileage but enough space in the back to sleep in. However, I am concerned about the spyware soykaf that is in modern vehicles today. Does anybody know a good compact van in terms of security? I know "get anything 1990-2009", but I want something that can ideally be around for the next decade or two, without repairs costing a lot more than they should be. Any suggestions or resources/guides to root/cripple the extent of digital vehicle spyware's capabilities would be greatly appreciated, thanks

Your reasoning is not clear here. Older vehicles are be cheaper to maintain because more parts available and there's less electronic bullshit which can't be fixed. Your implication that removing the "spyware" from a newer vehicle will somehow be cheaper and more sustainable is also dubious.
