Secure Throwaway Email and Phone

Unnamed · 2023-05-05 15:08
Lainons, it seems like lots of necessary services are using the advent of AI to demand TFA (as well as a million hCaptchas). What free throwaway email and phone number services can one use to avoid giving away one's private details? Proton used to be good for email, but has since started to demand a pre-existing email or phone number.

For security, Disroot comes to mind. Since you use Proton, it might be your thing, Lain.

>>21500 Thank you for the suggestion. There are some criticisms here, which anyone looking for a super secure service should read: https://www.reddit.com/r/PrivacyGuides/comments/s1cmvm/whats_your_opinion_on_disroot_mail/. However, I only need it for validating other services, so it should work perfectly.

>>21499 It looks as though quackr might do the trick for a temporary phone number. https://quackr.io/temporary-numbers/united-kingdom But it would be good to know what other lainons think, as I've never used it before.

>>21499 For mail, there's disroot.org and danwin1210.de. For phone numbers I use smspool.net. And yea, keep in mind that email is not an inherently private or particularly secure protocol, it tends to be stored in plain text for most providers.
