i guess this post can also be replied by people in the UK cause I know self defence isnt very good either.. hello canadanons a may be moving to Canada in the next coming year and as someone who is from America i know that Canada has like zero home defense laws. It also seems like you need the police and i guess the police are not very good in Canada either...... what would you recommend to someone who cant have a gun or pepper spray even to defend themselves? this question is more about home defense in canada that wont end you up behind bars i guess a big dog with a huge bark, any maybe a camera at the door but those can get hacked pretty easily but thats about my only two ideas, can any candanons help?

I live in Winnipeg in a not so good side of town, I double on the dog thing, I have a German shepherd and a husky , one night some guy around 2am was scouting out my house looking through my trash, he went over to my car window and banged on it a few times trying to get in, couldn't do it LOL. He then walked up to my door tried opening it, then gave it a slight smash (I saw this all on the my ring door bell was lowkey petrified like a bitch and called the cops was hoping they'd catch his ass) dogs started barking like craaaazzzzzy dude ran off at 100 miles an hour, dude never came back this was 3-4 years ago Sometimes i hear my dog barking at night, that sound can put a lot of people off, most of the time people are just looking for a quick easy heist when one is home and just to scoop up the electronics, its not worth the risk. TLDR I live in winnipeg the most dangerous city in canada house had attempted break in dogs barking made his ass bolt

>>20614 >camera at the door but those can get hacked pretty easily Don't worry about it too much. (Unless you really don't want unwanted eyes looking outside your house.) Get yourself a security camera just in case someone does break in your home. Maybe they'll be stupid enough to leave identifying stuff while doing to robbing. As for the laws in question, I believe you can use self-defense if necessary. Canada uses a system that permits you to defend yourself and your property with "Reasonable force". Think of it like an eye for an eye kinda deal. If your life is threaten in any way, you may use lethal force against the opponent. Having camera footage of the whole event will support your case if your actions are ever taken into court. >big dog with a huge bark Hell yea. That can work wonders too lmao

People from the US and around the world go to Canada for hunting trips all the time. You just need to do the right paperwork regarding gun possession.

>>20615 The threat multiplies substantially given the circumstances. Dealing with a dog on the street scares even the most crack hardened of niggers, just imagine dealing with a scary dog in a dark enclosed space. There's interesting home alarm systems with lighting controls that I've seen. Intruder mode forces on the main hallway lights and keeps off all bedroom/peripheral lighting. That particular implementation also featured an app. >Hooking my lights up to the internet makes me feel safer

>>20618 "Dealing with a dog on the street scares even the most crack hardened of niggers" oh this made my day LOL oh boy, but in canada its not black people its native people but still I know the crime in canada is much smaller where natives are they tend to keep the crime to themselves. I know Canada has a huge racist issue in toronto cause more and more African people are moving there for some reason and the crime is getting worse and worse. soykaf ton of people blaming the rap scene.

>>20620 >but in canada its not black people its native people Channer-speak. 'Brotha' almost never refers to actual Afro-Americans, hehe.
