hey, have you guys played over the wire? it's one of those wargames, CTF all that pretty security soykaf I started to explore some levels and I thought it was really good for those who don't have any fuarrrking experience it would be nice to interact with those who have already had experience in this

It's a great place to start and get your bearings, learn a bit about how to think and what to look for, get a refersher, or the like. You actually sent me down a rabbit hole, I just remembered OTW exists and now I'm gonna play them again. I'm more partial to hackthebox and I'm about to look into another called tryhackme. I think they're a bit cooler than OTW because they pretty much give you free reign on the box and you can absolutely break the whole thing for everyone and have to reset it, which is fun. Another option with similar results is spinning up something like metasploitable or DVWA on a VM or elsewhere in your lab and poke at it; sometimes I like those better because they're not as 'gamified' as some of these other ctf/wargmes are.
