I was thinking of making some accounts but I don't really wanna expose myself to the botnet. My threat model is just corporate advertising.

Create new browser profile, install ublock origin, check in all ad lists, don't forget your language/region, access social media site through proxy (vpn, whatever).
That should do it. When possible, don't log in to browse or read stuff, public Twitter profiles are entirely readable from nitter proxies over Tor for example.
Here are some filtering tools for social sites I have no idea whether they are working or not:

Aim to take everything you normally are and hide it. New email, new style of typing, new username, new password, and of course a few spoofers for your system covering typing speed, window size, operating system, search engine, browser, color scheme, etc. I recommend librewolf+chameleon extension for this.
If the website requires a phone number, use an online LAN line or get an anonymous SIM by going into a store with a face covering.
Lurking is best practice, the less info you give, the less can be gathered, but if you must post, try to keep it to text and images you got off of the website through the fake account.
VPN or TOR are a must for IP purposes.

>Is it possible to have social media and be anonymous?
Unless Facebook or whatever else does this stops banning accounts using fake names and what not the answer is simply no.

>anonymous phone
- blocked camera (buy it sealed, no testing on-site and block it after purchase or remove the chip since they are replaceable), purchased in cash only, where there's no security cameras at the time of purchase, where the IMEI was not associated on your name (or footage) during purchase ~ assuming it's a physical store it probably has CCTV for security purposes, be wary
- used market is probably good, otherwise stick to PC or laptop
>anonymous sim
- if your country requires ID or some soykaf you're out of luck. I guess in places where dissent is heavily punished they require people to present IDs before purchasing sim or even tourist sims
- anonymous method of refill/recharging your sim
- do not share contact number to anyone. lets say your friend knows you, you are lain-kun, your friend puts you in their contact list as lain-kun with your e-mail associated in the contact number because they also knew your e-mail, this is then synced to google cloud/drive android backup and whatsap whatever app or system app has access to contact lists that is preinstalled on their phone.
- other than that, please refuse to answer any random calls or turn on in/outgoing call barring
https:// educationnewshub.co.ke/how-to-activate-deactivate-calls-and-sms-barring-blocking-service-in-your-phone/
- this is to avoid zero click exploits that automatically answer phone calls upon receiving the call which can make them exfiltrate info while you're unaware, there's also a tailored phone call used to make phones browse http links which I assume delivers the malware
>expose
how much? the problem is the local cell site network will have its unique IP associated to the specific area, which your accounts would already know the specific area since the ISPs these days have partnerships with social media like meta and you can test this by using whois of what that social media site's ping (IP) points to, this means you've already exposed yourself for targeted local address advertisement, regardless of whether you used adblock or not, this is server side tracking (or base station). other than that, it depends on your device, is it windows? is it vanilla android? it probably has exposure notification and is broadcasting your location+identity+history over broadcast wifi+bt beacon communications or nuHF sound broadcast, devices expose themselves on their own and sometimes even relay information over proprietary beacons.
>account
it's probably a good idea to use at least one profile image with human face, this puts you out of the sus list.

for this there's the classic 'pay a homeless guy fifty dollars' trick.
