Clearnet: safehouse.chat/6667 (plaintext) safehouse.chat/6697 (SSL) Tor: frynkurv4dge43b4.onion/6667 (V2) izaegjrrdye45u5xr3xde26h6lantc5qt6rgibtxrzruw3lhmkc5kpqd.onion/6667 (V3) Small server, very cozy and friendly I've found. Stick around for a little when you join there might not be much activity right away.

Anyone knows of some good XMPP client? All of them are half-assed soykaf. And the only mildly good ones are developed and maintained by a handful of russians who God knows what they could do with them. Looks almost like the protocol is so dead that it's not reliable to use anything related since not enough code reviews / interest exists

>>17133 https://coy.im/ https://poez.io/en/ But no there are no good clients it's obviously a protocol made for companies that make their own internal clients.

>>17133 >>17174 >>17182 https://github.com/psi-im/psi https://psi-plus.com/ https://psi-plus.com/screenshots.php These are very decent and actively maintained by many devs. Anything else is absolute horseshit, glitchy and completely fuarrrked and you shouldn't bother
Project 2501 · 2021-08-20 15:37
>>17186 I can vouch for this. I was using profanity (because TUI) but Psi+ has worked a lot better for me. I wish I could have a working TUI xmpp client that would not only use omemo, but actually work properly.
Dozer · 2021-08-20 18:05
>>17211 >TUI just say CLI man, i had to google that tui i also prefer cli and i'm not too savvy about xmpp but i see they send and use images and all kinds of media so here a gui would indeed be needed to render them, otherwise i think it would be more painful than not, having to sxiv every user pic by its own
Acid Burn · 2021-08-20 18:20
>>17217 There's a difference between a TUI and a CLI interface. A command-line interface is line/raw-text oriented. A text-based user-interface can be anything from something like Emacs (without xorg) to some pseudographical ncurses thing.
Emmanuel · 2021-08-20 18:40
>>17218 It's kind of a stupid differentiation, all ncurses does is send special control characters to the terminal to move the cursor around or replace characters as needed, "CLI" programs are just the same except they don't change the line discipline of the tty and are just happy with the default + don't send special characters.
Bobby Newmark · 2021-08-20 19:20
