VPN Providers
ak74u · 2021-01-17 05:45
Cant do soykaf with VPN as all their IP's are blocked by every service, forum, etc. imaginable. suggestions on getting past this? lesser known providers? private VPN?
Cypher · 2021-01-17 06:43
- ssh tunneling might work better for you if your needs are based around accessibility.
- if you're looking for safety while not at home then look at creating a vpn on your own network.
- otherwise maybe seedboxes are more worth the money?
Hitomi · 2021-01-17 08:38
best VPN I've ever used was feralhosting. Never been blocked by anything, high speeds, and good admins.
Of course they probably log everything but meh I trust them more than my ISP
Pris · 2021-01-21 21:15
I have had nothing but satisfaction from mullvad. No logs, good speed, simple pricing. Just lacks pay with monero to be honest

I've used Trust.Zone and it was okay. I think Mullvad and Cryptostorm are meant to be actually good.

You are connected to Mullvad (server se6-wireguard). Your IP address is 185.65.135.252

I periodically email them about it and they keep saying its too much work but its on the backlog, most recent email their response was "we are now prioritising the lightning network" with the claim that its good for privacy when in reality its privacy is mostly breakable. It does make me slightly suspicious of them, I'm tempted to switch to IVPN now that they support Monero payments without having to go via xmr.to.

Create a cracked version of software with remote administration payload, distribute it on ddl and lesser moderated torrent sites, use infected computers as network exits with legitimate addresses. There are no better bulk ways, besides renting the endpoints of above system from someone smarter than you. Buteforcing default credentials on forgotten servers and throwing some sort of tunnel through them might do the same trick, although with lesser success since all AS addresses belonging to data centers tend to be first candidates on lowering your IP score. Cracking random street wireless networks and leaving backdoors on their computers or adding stealth hardware dead drops acting as relays is the least mentally demanding, but operationally more complex.
Anything with remote possibility of publicity tends to become misused by some idiot (like you), and ends up in spamlists.

That's blocked in my country. I'm not sure where it's unblocked. I tried many tor exit nodes.

It no longer exists now, too many countries were trying to strongarm it so rather than just going full log mode or blocking everywhere they closed it down.

Riseup hosts a free vpn. Just drop them a donation if you can. https://riseup.net/en/vpn

I'm just afraid to use their service because there could be armies of lgbt/progressive/blm admin monitoring the service that will dox me if I say n*gger, f*ggot or anything offensive somewhere on the internets.

It's also incredibly slow. But do donate as they are doing something great.

They barely have the manpower to keep the service running. Who's got time to manually check what you're doing?
Anyway, use HTTPS you dummy.

It's not about WHAT I could say or not on the internets BUT what I could look or not on the internets.
Why would I trsut a VPN provider wich is openly leftist when I just want some fuarrrking neutrality?
I know it is a little structure but fuarrrk no I don't want to take the risk of being policed by the "goods" because I'm the "bad" for looking on x or y website or fuarrrking blog.
Vasya Pupkin · 2021-02-21 06:12

like I said, they definitely don't have the time or manpower to pay attention to what you're doing. Their infrastructure is constantly overburdened, they probably spend all day trying to upgrade their mail server.
At worst, they might try to IP block stormfront or something. Their VPN is supposed to be there for tech illiterate activists to get a smidgen of privacy, not so you can say the gamer word on websites you got blocked from.
As for whether you can trust that VPN provider... well, you can't. Repeat after me: I cannot trust any VPN provider totally, no matter what they say about themselves. They all keep logs, they all will hand them over to the feds if pressed, if they don't give the feds a live feed anyway.
The question is: is it worth it for what you're doing? Your ISP is certainly no better.
Pris · 2021-02-21 20:58
>>14627
I couldn't have said better.
It is not because I distrust X that I can trust Y.
At the question "who could you trust?" my simple answer is "nobody but me".
I used a little bitmask in the past to say gross things on 8chan tho.

Considered hosting your own on a rented VPS? Not all datacenter IP's are blacklisted by forums and it's not much hassle after setting it up and securing the host.
Goes without saying that it won't help much to evade targeted surveillance that way but you can bypass having to rely on VPN companies claims "we don't keep any logs because you can trust us".
Incognito · 2021-09-12 21:12
I've just been using an old version of express I torrented for the past couple of months, but they finally caught on so im fuarrrked now. Do I have to cave and pay 10 bucks a month for a vpn that works?

Good. I believe all websites should be hostile towards VPN users since VPNs can be abused. Same goes with Tor and other proxies.
Dox · 2021-09-14 20:27
>>17409
This is idiotic. Next thing you'll be saying we should have to use real ID online? Screw that.
Everything should be hosted on Tor, I2P or similar networks by default and proxies/VPNs should be redundant/unnecessary.
Basilisk · 2021-09-21 00:36
you would probably have better luck setting up a VSP on your own or maybe pay for private proxies if you can't setup your own.
If you're trying to use subscription VPN I doubt that it won't be blocked
Yamaoto Toshi · 2021-10-18 09:28

Sometimes Tor is not an option for a use case such as if you need to use anything that's not TCP such as BitTorrent (well, there are many ways block non-Tor traffic for a process but you lose some connectivity without UDP and port forwarding), so a VPN is useful if you're willing to 'downgrade' of sorts
Tequila · 2022-01-26 16:26
You can use the Freifunk gateways as cheap VPN. Probably works for NYC mesh and other WiFi mesh networks that provide Internet gateways.

>"hack" into admin panel with the default credentials

Consider the incredible popularity of mullvad and that they dont accept monero, I am becoming afraid of it. It's too big of a target and so suspicious that it really could be a honeypot

Way more likely that the NSA already has a tap on them. If you literally throw up a red flag the US feds will instinctively seek and destroy.

Not a bad idea as long as you aren't doing anything which would draw enough attention to you for the owner of the network to notice.

Wonder why they suddenly nuked their non-paid service at the beginning of Feb without saying anything.
Thousands of the users spent hours troubleshooting a nuked service. They eventually made a tweet about it and haven't answered questions about it since. Sorry for any inconvenience guys!
