/sec/ noob here, recently discovered overthewire.org and am using it to learn linux commands. I've run into a slight problem where I'm trying to connect to bandit6@bandit.labs.overthewire.org and I'm getting the error "ssh_exxchange_identification: Connection closed by remote host", before I was able to circumvent this problem by typing "grep #sshd /etc/hosts.allow/" which I had read online somewhere, and then when I would try again I would be able to connect, however it doesn't seem to be working this time. anyone able to help?
also general thread for discussion/questions about overthewire or other "wargames"

I think you need to double check this. What is this supposed to do?

Don't copy and paste commands you don't understand from the internet. They won't all be harmless like this one.
