Home labs

I didn't build my own lab yet. I'm just curious about what you guys have to show us. I was thinking about gathering some pieces of networking components and some computers with different OSes and just create scenarios. I'd then buy a laptop with Kali as a live USB to exploit them. Also I wanted to know if it's realistic to do at home stuff like extracting data from a broken hdd or any kind of forensic on dead devices. How much would it cost ? For what ? Share your labs ! 馃槂 (and your adventures)

>your room >1 pc/laptop running vm >use kali as main system for testing, training, and for general purposes >buy wherever gadgets as you need not only because they look beautiful >????? >profit >sage because this could be in simple questions thread

>>3084 No I'm asking you to share your labs. It has nothing to do with the simple questions thread. Next time maybe.

>>3080 >stuff like extracting data from a broken hdd or any kind of forensic on dead devices You will need a clean box with filters, donor drives, firmware flashing tools and software, some sort of knowledge base on all drives existing and how to restore them.

i have an old dual cpu proliant i've been wanting to mess around with. seems like virtualization is the way to go with "home labs".

>>3096 Thanks for your warnings. As current OP I should have included it in my post.
