space

Any of you playing some space sims? I'm mostly into oolite (Elite remake) and Star Conflict these days. The latter is just some action game, not really a sim. Feels good sometimes though, as it's much faster than elite. Was trying out EVE for a month and always thinking about getting back to it but honestly I got no time for that. Tl;DR: space

If EVE ever came to GNU/Linux systems my life would be fuarrrked.

>>3193 According to Winehq and EVE forums it runs fine with Wine. Gold rating. https://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=application&iId=2249

my current 5+ year plan is to finish my degree get a stable and preferably comfy job in order to save up for a house in the middle of nowhere and do nothing but work and play eve.

X3 was a huge disappointment. It's basically Truck Simulator in space. If you enjoy the latter, you'd like the former. It's limited to maps instead of free-roaming. Bought the complete X3 set and started with Albion Prelude. Don't think I'll go back to it. If you're into top-down, I'd recommend RingRunner: Flight of the sages. It's one of my all-time faves. The story is great, I enjoy the mechanics, but it can be a little overwhelming at first.

Elite Dangerous is great. It would be even better if they'd port it to linux. Apparently it's on the table. But I find it weird they have it running on Mac but not Linux yet :(

>>3192 Best space sim? Just cause you can manually fly down to planets, get hopelessly lost in the void, or go days without seeing anyone if you head for fringes on single player or online, Evochron Mercenary is the best space simulator I've seen. https://youtu.be/PqwX_UcZKwQ and will be my only PC game when I get my 3d goggles working with it.

By the way after all I ended up renewing my EVE subscription. Is there any Lainchan corp or something?

>>3236 if you want to play with a beginner then ill play.

>>3237 I'm a beginner myself, only had it for a month on steam before but had to start a new account because you can only transfer characters from steam accounts but can't use your EVE account without steam if you made it with steam. So I'm pretty much new myself as well, see screenshot for current name.
