The future is bright

fsociety · 2018-05-30 10:01
Born right in time to join the first militant rebellions against robots. Autonomous vehicles, mass surveillance through smart devices, drones. When the first security robots turn up, we have to act. It'll be only a few leaps away from autonomous gun turrets who will shoot you because the face recognition algorithm didn't like your visage. Will you be a cyberpunk enough to kill some robots? Or will you be a dirty commie who believes in basic income and robots doing all the work to provide basic human needs?
Ivan Horvat · 2018-05-30 13:43
I don't think it will be that fun like in the anime, lainon. Either "le DOTR" will happen, or things will slowly degenerate into UK-style surveillance worldwide. It depends on whether the (((powers that be))) are careful enough not to alert the boiling frog. I give 70% chance DOTR and 30% chance of UK-style Orwellian society. >fsociety Tone down that LARP, name user

Your reaction time and accuracy is slower. You shell is easily broken. You have no fighting chance already against current machinery. You will be even less competitive in the future. The only niche you can crawl in is encasing yourself in machinery that takes over all the micro decisions while you become merely the toplevel commander but can you afford such toys and if you can do you have the skills to avoid backdoors?
Crazy Jake · 2018-05-30 14:34
>>8026 >You have no fighting chance already against current machinery. Not if you just charge in screaming and waving a stick, you don't.
Marly Krushkhova · 2018-05-30 15:33
>>8027 The only way you can win with ghetto tech is setting up traps. The scenario where you have much better weapons then the expensive robots won't happen. And if you're vulnerable and it's anywhere close to a cowboy duel where both parties have a chance to kill the machine will win because it will spot you first, aim faster and hit more accurate. The only way you can self-insert here is playing robot handler yourself.
Zhora · 2018-05-30 18:24
Just how out of touch are you? > When the first security robots turn up, we have to act. They already exist. > Or will you be a dirty commie The robots exist in parking lots of high tech corporations. As in, advanced *capitalist* organizations. Communism hasn't been our problem for a long time.
The Oracle · 2018-05-31 00:27
>not siding with the machines against ((modern society)) >thinking you stand a chance against machines with your pathetic flesh body No thanks, I'm on the side of the people who will let me upload my brain into the wired not the suicidal maniacs trying to fight to keep this hell world we live in. HEAR THAT ROBOTS I'M WITH YOU PLEASE SPARE ME.

>>8026 I think you underestimate biology as technology. Consider the possibility of humans that sporenate and have regenerative abilities akin to starfish and or trichoplax. Add to these modifications large scale industrialized breeding/cloning operations and significantly increased carrying and birthing capacity and you have the makings of a competitor against the machines.

Any battle against "robots" in our lifetime would still fundamentally be a battle against people... very powerful people with access to advanced military tech and deep pockets. It's not going to happen for the same reason that it isn't happening now.
Six · 2018-06-03 09:57
>>8025 Of course the frogs are boiled slowly. G**gle introduced a smart camera in their phones just recently. Autonomously driving cars aren't even finished yet. The robots don't quiet exist yet but I can see society already sucking their cock with pleasure. You all better become anti-robots NOW because this is the time get in before it becomes cool. Authentic avant garde. I'm not sure what the larp thing you mentioned is about, it's a random name
Agent Smith · 2018-06-03 10:03
>>8032 >They already exist. please show me >As in, advanced *capitalist* organizations. Communism hasn't been our problem for a long time. They will successfully lure commies like you into the robot slavery though. Because you'll think robots working are the salvation from the capitalist exploiting system. >>8050 Robots are kinda soykaf right now and they will be soykaf for the next decades. Enough time to waste these tin cans before their mass production is optimized.
Guthrie · 2018-06-04 08:17
>>8070 but commies hate techno-capitalism too? Do you think commies are just ignorant sheep? Sheep are people who never question a thing in their lives. Sheep are the ones who will go alone with whatever the TV says.

>>8073 >but commies hate techno-capitalism too? I'm not so sure about this, robots would be a reliable factor in realizing a stable communism

>>8076 >robots would be a reliable factor in reqlizing a stable communism It was tried in China around the 1950s. It turned into capitalism. **seriously though, most chinese people living in China generally just do what the govt tells them to without bothering to question it**

If we're at right time for something it is fall of the liberal democratic system. China is growing stronger and will become much more important than now, becoming a geopolitical danger for the west. I wonder whether it will end up in restoration in the west or just straight decline and fall.

OP, I am not interested in any of these. I will probably be on the payroll of the corporation researching 20 years ahead into their future, and if they fail to keep me alive, happy and working they will disappear down the gutter.
