What was the most exciting thing you did this week?(You should always elaborate on your opinions rather than just spilling the soykaf. You could've stated the most exciting thing you've done this week in your opening post and why you've felt it was exciting. Please write better opening posts in the future.)

Wrote a 11k word reply to some neoliberal individualist cosmopolitan citizen of the world who was born in my country but couldn't even speak my language. My highlight was spending 2 hours writing that answer.

Chani · 2018-04-07 14:24
>>7620 When I took out the trash at my usual 3:AM the other night. I just kind of spent a good 30 minutes gazing up at the night sky and walked around a little bit in my yard. It's the only time I go outside. Other than that I've just pretty much been doing minimal work online making peanuts and watching anime.

I bought a new laptop. Making decisions with money attached to them is always really stressful for me, even though I'm pretty well off.

>>7617 I normally just lurk. Ive been installing floors for the past 5 years. A year or two before i ever got this job i went to the shrink. Your basic/ I AM suicidal/ I AM Holden Caufield/ I AM a drug addict soykaf. Regardless, i live in a small town and i found myself doing a shower renovation in my towns psych ward. The building is right next to where i went for counselling not so long ago. Its strange being in there. Its scary thinking that if i hadn't smartened up i may have wound up there or somewhere worse. It makes me worry about my little sister.
Arisu Mizuki · 2018-05-27 23:19
Spent about 3 hours yesterday trying to record a video covering a song. I can play it fine but I can't get my face looking fuarrrking normal on camera, I'm always visibly nervous and looking around too much, so I gave up. Was good to try though; first time I tried recording anything with my roommates home, whose opinions of me I worry about too much. >>7631 Gz on the new top anon. I feel the same. I needed a measuring cup one day so I spent two hours reading reviews on Amazon for measuring cups $5-15.
Gyula Kovacs · 2018-05-28 03:06
I saw a dog that wasn't mine in the back yard, then it jumped the fence and ran off. Later it fuarrrked with me while I was out walking so I chased after it.

I just spent five minutes trying to come with an answer to this thread and realized I can't remember the last time I did anything of note.

Back in February (not sure) I was navigating one of these chinese online stores and there was a listing for a supposed low end android phone for a buck. Literally 1 dollar. I bought it since, well, soykaf, it's just a dollar, what's the worst that could happen? Even if I got a toy cell phone I'd be happy. I bought it mostly for the lulz. Recieved it this week. Turned out to be the most ugly mini usb cable I've ever seen. And it has a couple of blue led lights for some fuarrrking reason. It was a fun thing I guess.

>>8000 Yeah, looks are a huge contributing factor for me as well, but after enough reviews you start to consider things like the durability, weight, the material, the labels rubbing off, if it goes with your current kitchen set, if it will go with the kitchen set you plan on having in the future, etc >>7998 It must've been a "cable" hidden in there somewhere, funny story lain >>8004 I hear that's quite a heavy one, best of luck

Had two job interviews and (I think) I did really well in both of them. Neither have extended an official offer but I'm confident enough that my main worry now is not knowing which one to choose. Given that at the start of the year I was freaking about what I would do when I graduated, that's a pretty great dilemma :)
Hagbard Celine · 2018-06-07 20:21
Got my tongue pierced, it seemed like a nice idea at first but now I have to wait 2 weeks - 1 month to eat real food. I also got a cat so now I have something to actually take care of and live for everyday. Having purpose feels nice.

going again to a party with the same girl, after this no parties for a while tho working on my game on full regime met a cute chinese girl, probably its gonna go nowhere but eh i miss not doing soykaf all day for months in a row

>>8087 nice work lain. I am in this same spot. Care to share some of that confidence in the form of tips?
The Phantom Phreak · 2018-06-08 16:58
>>8107 Glad to hear there's someone going down a similar path. It's an exciting time. I don't know whether I have any tips that are worthwhile, but this is my own self-analysis from the last few weeks of applications, interviews, etc: When I was a teenager I subconsciously developed an instinct for cognitive dissonance --- anything that I wanted, I immediately convinced myself I didn't really care about. That way, if I succeeded, it was because I was a genius, if I failed, it was because I just didn't care enough to actually succeed. I'm sure this is a familiar phenomenon to many other lains. It's actually quite a toxic mentality, but it seems to serve me well in interviews. Other candidates are really nervous because they're thinking about how their whole future depends on this. But I dgaf because I've subconsciously convinced myself I don't care. Then in interviews I'm really relaxed and can look the interviewer in the eye, treat them like an equal rather than slobber for the job. I think this works in my advantage. TL;DR: don't care too much; treat 'em mean, keep 'em keen; be confident in your own abilities.

spoke to 2 humans in 1 day, 2 more than at any time during the whole week, on top of this I found that a script and script_input generated a different output from what it did previously, when neither script nor the script_input had changed. It turned out to be an system upgrade was using mawk instead of gawk as the alias to awk, but in removing mawk it removed the shell and windowmanger as connected items - but I got them back.
