Anyone else finds scientific glassblowing fuarrrking sexy as all hell? Found a ton of books and materials on the topic online... even found a way to make glassblowing lathe and found out that my local chemistry equipment prices are really pricey (meaning I could sell my own cheaper if I even decided to go into this hobby) Gosh dang it, I know this is just a phase of me searching for new cool stuff I could do and always blowing it off after I loose interest, but I want to get into chemistry a bit and this seems too cool not to add on my belt

>>6911 I dunno.. it sounds cool as hell but I'm not sure how you could go around doing it on your own. Not to say that you can't.. but it doesn't sound like the kind of thing that you can casually pick up.

even better idea... make "tobacco pipes" unless you live somewhere where marijuana is legal.. use profits to buy a chemistry set greater customer base than the scientific community, and scientific glassblowing is easy with small stuff like pipette glass, but once you start getting into higher precision instruments it becomes more difficult

>>6918 Yea, been thinking about start with custom cheapo bongs selling and then going into chemistry equipment stuff. But I assume there is enough of chemistry schools in my area, and enough of labs to supply my needs (since I would be 3rd glassblower in my country if I ever went i to it). All chemistry equipment is basically resold from mass manufacturers from EU so it has a bigger price meaning I could jump in the market and have some really good cash. >>6917 People keep saying that it is a craft that takes more years to practice if you are to make everything on hand and not have a glassblowig lathe. I think glassblowing lathe is much MUCH easier and there is a guy on youtube that made the chuck, motor, spindle and bed of the lathe all on his own (just has to get in the details). I guess nothing is what you can just casually pick up. Every good craft takes some certain time to master it.
