I've been littler picking and graffiti spotting for a couple of months now, around my home town. These past few weeks I've noticed a specific phone number being tagged around with messages about hanging out for a shag and that sort of thing. So far I've removed most of them - at least the offensive public facing ones - but in honesty I'm a little curious. My guess is it's either that weird new guy in town I've seen cruising around on an e-scooter or a bait numberleft by some hunter group or anyone looking to exploit risk takers. Is there anything I'd need to know before sending a message? I'm guessing a burner SIM is enough tech, while letting police or trusted individuals know what I'm up to. Stupid to suggest really but the numbers are only appearing at my hangouts, almost like they want me specifically to use them. This hole is for me, init. Although how I'd confirm they're not at places I don't go is anyones guess.

OR most likely someone hated someone and wrote his/her number up with the shagging proposition to mess with him/her. if you call or message the receiver will either won't know what you are talking about, or will be mad because you are the 9001th person calling a random graffiti number. I've seen a similar smear campaign against a woman in my city, it was did by her ex-boyfriend, writing up her name and contact everywhere and advertising it as a prostitute

And OP, you don't need to worry about being targeted. What's happening is your usual routine (i.e. "graffiti spotting and litterpicking" intersects with the usual spots where "for a good time, call xxx-xxx-xxxx" pop up. It's like if you went to a pond and found ducks.
