I will never have been an Olympic medalist in mathematics. Not because of a lack of interest on my part, but because that opportunity was never given to me. No one ever encouraged me to participate in competitions, or to study for something greater. Furthermore, my school participated in very few Olympiads.
To make matters worse, in pre-adolescence, I fell into a depression that negatively affected my academic performance, and the pandemic in my 8th and 9th grades was the final blow that forever limited my academic performance. I study exact sciences at a big university (pure sciences) and I still don't know trigonometry. Some of my classmates spent two years studying for my country's MIT, another is gifted, and three others went to international physics and astronomy Olympiads.
Events beyond my control ended a life that was on a very good path. I, who was the best student in my elementary school class, recognized by my teachers, who gave me extra and more difficult homework to further motivate me, I, who passed to the second phase of the National Informatics Olympiad but ended up not even taking the test, probably due to depression, I myself now have my life irremediably condemned, if not to failure, then to mediocrity.
Even so, despite all this, I have to hear from others that I am a horrible person, a bad person. Me, of all people, the target of a cruel succession of injustices imposed upon me by agents of various kinds. Thanks to these, I haven't had friends since I was 10 years old, nor any particular quality, so that my failure is not only academic, but of general scope, which is why living, for me, is a great waste.

None of this matters. The only thing that matters is how you act from now on. You are in the situation you are and you can only do what you can do. All else is disgusting self-pity and the sooner you drop it the farther you'll go

So you're saying that it is an injustice that you were encouraged in elementary school but not later on? That you didn't participate or win in math olympiads because nobody is asking you to?
That seems like a motivation problem from your part, as you said, "depression", whatever that means, but that is your fault and nobody else's, it's not their obligation to force you to do things, or to constantly praise you to pavlov you into doing things, it's up to you to develop your personality, hobbies and ambitions, if you have none it's your fault.
From the way you wrote it seems like you have a loser mentality, you blamed all kinds of people instead of yourself for your own shortcommings, and are bitter about it, that explains why you have "no friends" and why people tell you you're a horrible person.

start by taking some responsibility for the soykafty behavior you do, the lack of things you do for your benefit, and the state your life is currently in. All are ultimately your fault almost entirely.
Anything you want to do you can- go do it. Stop blaming others for your problems; be a self starter.
And if the problem is that you can't do some things because you aren't a child anymore- and you are upset because you can't have a medal meant for children- maybe think about that for a couple minutes.

I agree with lainon, don't narrow your perspective down like that.
Judging from your post, you must be 19-20 years old, the same as I. Yes, we were robbed of a fair slice of our youth. So what? It was not just you, it was everyone else as well, so don't make it a you problem.
We can also know so much from your post, but I read it as tainted with self-pity and pessimism. Don't get me wrong, I understand your frustration: I was also the "gifted" up until Corona. I was also unable to join olympiads for a while. At 16-17 I was able to do so again.
It meant the world to me as well to be high-ranked in the [redacted] olympiad. I got there, did some stuff, passed into the finals. "Talent" and intuition only get you so far, people who actually practiced in their free time got ahead. Now I could've been whining about the unfair, foreign competition (none of these people were even from my country), but to what end?
Stop waiting for opportunity and go seize it. If you open your eyes, take a step back, and most importantly a step outside, it will be in plain sight. Being a failed genius has never been sexy unless you're also a 11/10 looks-wise, and in even in thay case people only care about the superficial.

Why are people sucking off videodrome? It's mid as fuarrrk at best, a ton of pointless sexual degeneracy mixed with some le science and technology bullshit into a slop i wouldn't recommend anybody. It being sucked off so often on this site shows how incredibly shallow people are here nowadays.
