Hi lainchan. Former hiki here. Now I am a therapist... I want to hear your thoughts on therapy and how to make it better. I think a lot of therapists don't understand the appeal of imageboards. You can post about it here or do the survey I made, up to you: https://tarleton.az1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_0dixWdcJPSTKGua ^I know the link looks suspicious, but I'm not phishing. Let me know if there's anything I can do to prove that. Qualtrics is the survey service and Tarleton is my school. I have some great memories on boards like this and I hope you're making some good memories here too.

Congratulations OP, from hikki to therapist, that's impressive. Patients dealing with social isolation must benefit from a doctor who can really empathize. Please correct me if I'm wrong, isn't the point of therapy to reintegrate to society? I'm given to understand all humans are more or less unhinged because society is like kicking dead whales down the beach, but to be considered "normal" means to be capable of participating in society, despite it's issues, without harming oneself or others.

I'm most curious, what made you want to become a therapist? How did you go down this path? Was it difficult to get out of your rut? I'd like to have a discussion, let's have this not just be a survey wage slave thread.

Congrats on getting your room cleaned and your life in order. I mean it. Link is sus and I don't think this is the right place or subject to use surveys anyway. My therapist mostly just asks me "how I'm doing" while I try to answer as quickly as I can while avoiding the "bad ending" and just get my pills. Most problems are really just due to modern life. I know, very cliché, but for most I believe it's enough to just tell them the basic J. Peterson stuff of getting themselves and their very immediate environment in order, eat healthy and cut sugar, sleep schedule and hygiene, exercise and lift weights, sunlight and walks, essential supplements and fix their microbiome, learn empathy and some open mindedness, play dark souls, and work towards a stable situation where they can utilize their strengths and is more in line with their personality. Get them out of their nihilistic rot and point out their social oddities that they may not notice themselves and help them attain a basic level of socialization. Then depending on their intelligence, get them either into Jesus and on an orthodox routine or pragmatic stoicism to handle their daily matters while they can look for their personal goals in life. More difficult cases probably need some habit formation and cognitive behavioral therapy and the real nutters are probably a tiny fraction. Alright, this is gonna be $2500.

>>47347 >>47348 Damn. What are you trying to access it from? Most VPNs should work. I don't collect IP. Just what you type (no keystrokes) and a score that shows any likelihood that you're a bot. >>47349 >Patients dealing with social isolation must benefit from a doctor who can really empathize. I hope so. It helps having been there. Addicts like working with therapists who are former addicts, and so on. >Please correct me if I'm wrong, isn't the point of therapy to reintegrate to society? It could be, depends on your goals and values. Maybe you want to integrate into yourself. People find meaning in having deep connections with others. But that's not the be-all-end-all. And isn't this board a means of connecting with others? >but to be considered "normal" means to be capable of participating in society, despite it's issues, without harming oneself or others. To be considered normal by general societal standards, I guess. It depends how much you value that. >>47350 >I'm most curious, what made you want to become a therapist? How did you go down this path? Long story of course :p but it is actually tied to what I am doing right now. I want to be there for people who feel alienated like I did. I still do, but less intensely. I have met a lot of normal person therapists and normal people in general. I would like to help them understand how to help you, or at least to understand you a little better. That's the aim of the survey. >Was it difficult to get out of your rut? I was going to just do retail until a couple years ago when I decided on this. I have an autism diagnosis but I didn't qualify for neetbux. It has been a lot of work but I feel excited and fulfilled being able to help others.

>>47353 >Congrats on getting your room cleaned and your life in order. I mean it. Thank you, that means a lot. I will always be working on maintaining it. >My therapist mostly just asks me "how I'm doing" while I try to answer as quickly as I can while avoiding the "bad ending" and just get my pills. Sounds like you have an understanding at least. Bad ending being getting sent to the psych ward? I wish it were easier to talk about being suicidal, without that being a risk. >Most problems are really just due to modern life. I know, very cliché, but for most I believe it's enough to just tell them the basic J. Peterson stuff of... Those all help, but you're right that they're not enough. I like it. >More difficult cases probably need some habit formation and cognitive behavioral therapy Maybe if it's really special CBT? Some anons I've talked to said they found CBT annoying and unhelpful because of the dissonance between how the therapist thought and how they do. >and the real nutters are probably a tiny fraction. Are you a real nutter?

>>47357 >>47356 A few other places where he posted this are in the .txt, I tried to put them in the post but I'm getting the "Please make a better post." warning. Seems like a normal person trying to sympathize with the shut-ins for his retarded academia. That's the positive outlook, we all know what's the bad ending.

>>47361 He's kind of creepy copying his posts all over social media like that. If only I could understand the machinations of a man driven to such mind-blowing insanity. This is where I draw the line. Helpful or not. He's crossing a very holy line of chan culture by doing this. Cross-posting is just the worst and people doing it should be ashamed. I'm deeply disturbed and disgusted. Maybe he was once trying to be goobo gabo one of us and now he learned a healing spell. He has come back to heal us because we are the problem and not him. In so doing healing his own years old wound of fitting in. Hello everyone. I'm just a Lainon doing -you know- Lainon stuff.

>>47346 Therapy is like kicking dead whales down the beach. It's used as a tool to control people when society can't solve their emotional needs. Society is like kicking dead whales down the beach too. >>47357 >>47356 Looks like OP is a glowie or something worse. Report and delete thread.
