im retarded and i hate it
Agent Jones · 2025-08-26 17:07
every time i try to think and observe what's around me to come to conclusions or deal with a problem im very slow and can only deal with things that require 90iq or less
ive been learning english for 6 years but still had to google how to spell every time
im slow at coding, slow at learning and slow at making money
does this happen?
Anonymous · 2025-08-26 18:05
Maybe you are just weak-willed? I'm also very slow at doing stuff, and the worse my mood gets the slower I get. I learned most of what I know about english a couple of years ago, but I was a very motivated and curious teen back then, the complete opposite of what I am now.

Don’t you worry. despite me being an intelligent individual I lack social skills and organization skills lmao my room is messy asf.

Does a quarryman weaken his muscles by using a jackhammer instead of a pickaxe?

yes.
your brain is like a muscle, use it or lose it.

for context: MIT wasted a bunch of time and money to show what most people already knew: using AI to do the heavy lifting makes you weaker over time

Some things I would never even approach without AI. I mean, I wouldn't want to code a dozen of service-managing and port-forwarding demons by myself. I wouldn't want to spend countless hours reading bash/systemd/natpmp/etc manuals, it's not my specialty as a dev. Now I was able to become a bit of a sysadmin/devops myself, for my localhost at least, without spending extraordinary amount of time it usually requires. Moreover, I actually had to comprehend and get to know some of those things myself, because AI never just works fully on its own. I got to know stuff like natpmpc, network namespaces, some routing tricks wg-quick uses, a bit of systemd, a bit of bash advanced features (like its cool pattern matching capabilities). Those countless "research articles" to diss something are tiresome, how low science has fallen.

weak willed for sure because even though i tried to go through a lot of things i still haven't found anything i want to achieve

A tool's usefulness depends on the task you want to accomplish. For those of us who want to push ourselves and the world further, tools allow to do it more efficiently. For those of us who simply want to enjoy life, they save time.
>>46938
Feel free to break your back getting stone with a pickaxe in a dust-filled quarry. I'd rather train my muscles in a safe, well-lit, air conditioned gym.
I don't want to learn every terminal command in GNU/Linux. I'd rather use my brain to learn real politics, how to make the largest amount of money and power.
Too many brilliant people here waste the best years of their lives tinkering with computers when they could be getting rich and contributing their efforts to get pedophiles out of governments.
>>46939
It's a choice tools give us. Plenty of people don't even lift either, they seem happy enough.
Instead of endlessly chasing self-improvement by hyperfocusing on ridiculous pointless skills like essay writing or doing math in their head, most people would choose to spend their time with their friends and families. I don't blame them for that. Let people use pocket calculators, jackhammers, tractors, mining excavators. Let them use AI. Let them stay low IQ. Let people live. They have more options, more choice. It's a good thing. Freedom is good.

Are you me? I've also tried many things, but nothing really fulfilled my innermost desires, so I never really had the motivation to actually walk the path to achieve my goals.
This is a very important distinction, because the fact that you are depressed and understimulated does not necessarily mean that you are naturally stupid, often quite the opposite. Even IQ tests show massive fluctuations depending on the subject's level of motivation. Anecdotally, many antipsychotic drugs work by blocking dopamine receptors in the brain, and they often cause a massive reduction of IQ over time, so I guess it wouldn't be a far stretch to say that being understimulated in general can actually make you stupid.
Maybe you just need meth.

You're literally counting on something that regurgitates what it reads online into a prompt, you're not "doing it more efficiently" you're slacking off and looking for shortcuts to something that you have to dedicate time to.
>I don't want to learn every terminal command in GNU/Linux. I'd rather use my brain to learn real politics, how to make the largest amount of money and power.
This is your brain on capitalism. Don't fuarrrking learn GNU/Linux if you're looking for money and power. What are you even trying to get at?
>Too many brilliant people here waste the best years of their lives tinkering with computers when they could be getting rich and contributing their efforts to get pedophiles out of governments.
This is your brain on capitalism 2x. Not everyone cares about "getting rich", there's something deeply wrong with you if you look at a smart person and the first thing you think is "wow he could get rich". You can't name many people who have made innovations in practically any field without the help of a mass of workers who were filthy rich.
>Instead of endlessly chasing self-improvement by hyperfocusing on ridiculous pointless skills like essay writing or doing math in their head, most people would choose to spend their time with their friends and families.
How the fuarrrk is essay writing an useless skill? Are you illiterate? You seem to be so stuck up on making money that you render everything else that isn't directly related to entrepreneurship as obsolete, you mention that you care about politics but little political beliefs would exist if all the great thinkers didn't put it in words.

The question was: Does <not using an improvable thing> lead to <loss of improvement>?
The answer was: Yes.
This has nothing to do with whether a jackhammer is *faster* than a pickaxe, or whether using AI is *faster* than learning to program 100% on your own.

question was not: "is AI useful"
question was: does AI cause skibidibi-brainrot
i'd wade into the morass of:
>self improvement bad spending time with families more important blah blah money and power blah blah etc etc
but it's so far off topic let's please just toss it or start a new thread to talk about it...
>>46927
the solution is just practicing learning lots of new things slowly over time. don't worry about how fast other people get stuff, just mosey along at your own pace.
>googling how to spell
buy a big fat dictionary and use it instead. makes a huge difference in retention in my experience.
example: i used to suck at math and hate it, but i've slowly absorbed enough of it over the years that i can manage a decent amount of neat stuff now. i'm not super-math-wizard like some lains, but i can get by just fine for my purposes (even if it takes a while sometimes), and that is a cozy feeling.
>slow at making money

i scored over two SDs twice at formal tests but only scored around 110 at the logic part and because of lack of motivation and various things i just act dumb to a point where people take advantage of me all the time, i actually achieved a few things and i dont understand why i have no self esteem

Just accept what nature made you and don't worry about it. If nature made you deficient in some way, it's not your fault. Quit torturing yourself about it and be who you are and do stuff you like. And if other people act like assholes about it, fuarrrk 'em. But don't be too hard on 'em, because nature made them assholes and they can't help it.
