Yes, this is what's happening. Most people don't care about censorship if it's in the guise of protection, and even more people have no idea how LLMs work. So the powers that be take advantage.

Normal people are all in for censorship so long as you don't call it censorship. They just call it censorship if the TV tells them it's censorship. And the TV will call it censorship if it happens in Russia, China, or Iran
