Has anybody else visited any of the holy places of Lain from the show? I visited a few on my last trip to Japan including Shibuya, but specifically the bridge that Lain walked on in the show. Also visited Setagaya City (the are of Tokyo which Lain lives) and some other noteworthy locations. Cool to see in person.

Did you have to learn some Japanese to go to Japan? Some people have said they went to Japan without speaking Japanese, I don't understand how they get around

Not op, never been to japan, but navigating countries where you cannot speak or read at all is actually pretty easy. Also neat OP, I'm sure we'd appreciate more photos!
