Mineclonia https://content.luanti.org/packages/ryvnf/mineclonia/ on the Luanti engine https://www.luanti.org/ - a sandbox inspired by Minecraft and its alternative. The game is free, with a free license https://ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/GNU_Lesser_General_Public_License, open source code https://codeberg.org/mineclonia/mineclonia, available on Windows, Android, Linux, FreeBSD, macOS, https://www.luanti.org/downloads/ servers are common for all platforms, convenient api https://docs.luanti.org/for-creators/ for modding, mods https://content.luanti.org/packages/?type=mod . All the main content and mechanics of Minecraft are implemented, updates are regularly released https://codeberg.org/mineclonia/mineclonia/releases . To start playing, you first need to download and install the engine, run it, and then install the game using the graphical interface in the content tab. (More detailed instructions. https://content-luanti-org.translate.goog/help/installing/?_x_tr_sl=en&_x_tr_tl=ru&_x_tr_hl=ru&_x_tr_pto=wapp ) For playing online with other players, I recommend a non-commercial anarcho server without rules, privates, in-game purchases, players with administrator privileges called Anarchy Anarchy 2b2t Mineclonia, server IP address 178.237.176.106 port 30000 The server is located in Russia, works around the clock, high performance, no wipes. It is similar to 2b2t https://ru.wikipedia.org/wiki/2b2t .(USER WAS WARNED FOR THIS POST, You should always elaborate on your opinions rather than just spilling the soykaf.)

Did you make it look like spam on purpose?
Special Agent Bob · 2025-04-25 05:21
>>45657 This is not spam.

>>45656 we used to have a lainchan minetest server for a while. can't find the thread in the catalog, must've been pushed off by the refugee flood... also note that there are actually two separate minetest mods that clone minecraft useful minetest packages: - techage - skinsDB (lets you build up a library of skins to use at-will, compatible with minecraft skins, just have to name the files a certain way) - hang glider - stamina - stairs redo - mobs monster/animal are OK - item drop (but keep the auto-inventory grab on break turned on) - 3d armor this should probably be on /inter/. also that is the ugliest looking OP i've seen in a while

>>45659 The concept of this server is completely different. It is quite popular by Minecolony standards. I saw there inscriptions from blocks advertising various image boards. They are often broken if they are not made of obsidian.

>>45660 i'm familiar with 2b2t and the concept of /anarchy/ servers. I assumed this was a minetest thread and not a 2b2t wage slave thread. also, i forgot to mention rangedweapons, which is a pretty decent gun mod for minetest.

I wish we had a minecraft that run on low end without stutters and without perma connection to microsoft. Nowadays i just play minecraft on my old xbox since actual minecraft requires a constant connection to microsoft and an account and minetest is also resource heavy (some told me in their IRC that the codebase is garbage but i don't know if that's true). At least the xbox version is well optimised (thanks to 4J) and it's how i got into the game anyway. It's also cool to play what is effectively a powerpc port of oldish minecraft

>>45662 I've played minetest on a RPi3. It ran very well as long as the view distance wasn't set ridiculously far.

>>45663 I'm talking about minetest with plugins like mineclonia. If you mean you had a server on a rpi3 then i believe it since it's known that it offloads much of the required processing to it (though for me it would still cause stutters on the client). I've played both minecraft and minetest on a quadcore I7 from 2008 and 8 GB ram both on linux and windows. Minetest (Mineclonia) in particular ran like ass and every 10 seconds i would get stutters for some generation thing which i even took the time to debug. If i reduced the view distance (which i left on default like everything else mind you) the stutter would just reduce. Things like exploring would cause immense stutter. Of course the engine without mods runs fine. Playing on popular servers was at a constant 15 fps just for all the stuff on the map. Minecraft was manageable on older versions but the connection is a no for me, and stutters on that too when exploring. I used to play minecraft fine on a sony VAIO from the early 2000s. They both got very bloaty and CPU intensive.
