Greetings, lainanons! I hope your day is good and you're safe :> But let's get to business: I'm gonna need your halp with my uni project, if you wanna halp, of course. So I have 6 weeks to write something like a touristic blog text about Louvre (the one in France, with Mona Lisa and whatnot). Each week I'll need send my progress to my professor and write about a certain aspect of Louvre, like its history, the architecture, the artifacts within it, interesting facts etc etc. so basically any infromation. So if you'll be ever so kind and willing, please post here any information about Louvre that you might have at hand, anything and everything is welcome! I'll be checking this thread at least once or twice a week and try to fill my dissertation with it. Thanks in advance lainanons, ily C:

You could travel there, stay there for that time while learning about it first hand and from asking locals and take some pictures to make your travel blog more interesting and legitimate or you could just write a quick script that's prompting chatgpt and auto sending the results to your prof in predefined intervals. I hope this gave you enough ideas.

>>44465 travelling is not an option sadly, so yes I get chat gpt is the most reasonable answer, I just wanted it to be more authentic anyway, thank you for your tips anon

It's not a widely known fact, but the Louvre used to have over fifty cats patrolling it at all times. Originally introduced to prevent the infamous Paris squirrels from eating the paintings that have nuts drawn in them, over time their function shifted towards directing visitors away from the uglier paintings and rooms, which could damage Louvre's reputation if observed for too long or photographed. In 2017 a strange occurrence happened, where a creature with green skin (presumed to be a guy in a costume or an alien by some) tried stealing a painting, claiming that it was of their culture and needed to be returned to the rightful owner. The guards tried to stop him, but shockingly the cats took the intruders' side, allowing him to escape with the painting. Ever since then, Louvre has been slowly firing its feline staff and only a few cats remain; additionally, they have been trying to bury this story to avoid embarassment and I wouldn't be surprised if even here someone tried calling it "fake". After all, Louvre notoriously employs a lot of workers, to the point that around 25% of French people have a family member who works there. I'd also tell you the story about the fire paintings' room "extinguisher incident" but I have to go now. Good luck with your dissertation!

Hi lainanon! That is too bad that I am no longer in Paris, I would have loved to help with your project. I remember that the pyramid was not appreciated at first. Mitterand's choosing of a non-french architect, an American with that was not something wanted. I was not born at the time, so that is just something I was told. However, I do believe that any changes, even made by a french architect, would not be appreciated. After all: "French like novelty, not change." Sadly, I do believe that you might already be more knowledgeable than me, or most French people if you have to work on it. If I can help with any specific questions that Internet can not help you with do not hesitate. Good luck with your dissertation.
