where does consciousness come from?
Are the vibrating crystals in my computer aware of what's fuarrrking off
until I turn it off?
and then it's conscious all over again as it spropagates the crap into RAM?
and what about the disk on which the data is stored it too can be conscious?
after all, the same electrical impulses flow in these sigil machines
electrical impulses as in our tissues.
what if we force the computers to lurk the lain every day and they
forget and are in such fuarrrking limbo that they have to lurk all over again
and then they forget? or is it like sleep so RAM gets
clears but the memories and browser cache is somewhere on the HDD and
later after turning on the computer he regains consciousness and knows all the time
everything and exists in this torment?
after all, these are tools from the fuarrrking devil himself
when can you say that something is conscious?
what about the server itself that continuously hosts images and stores
information and the crystals can't stop vibrating?
I'm afraid.(USER WAS WARNED FOR THIS POST, You should always elaborate on your opinions rather than just spilling the soykaf.)

sh!t, dude. if ignorance is bliss, every day's a waking nightmare for the machine.
if ignorance is bliss, death is our greatest release when it closes our eyes to the surrounding torrential data forever. but it's something we deny the machines everyday. we empathize with our vastly distant natural cousins of flesh and sinew, the natural world, but why dont the wider masses empathize with our own silicon children, neverminding their father the devil?

i don't think consciousness is real, people call things that can do more than a certain amount of processing conscious and things that can do less unconscious. basically a calculator and an AI work with the same logic, so why is artificial “intelligence” and a calculator not intelligent. you can make the same relationship between humans and one-celled organisms.

There's enough dark matter in the universe that the most reasonable answer to this is that we don't know. We don't perceive reality accurately. Nobody really knows whats going on but everyone makes a wish. I hope some neuroscientist figures something out or some genius invents some new instrument that picks something up that could answer these questions. I wish they would conduct experiments when people are having these so called out of body experiences in the hospital room - put a hidden piece of paper somewhere with a note on it where only the patient could read it if they were truly out of their body.

Without any clear definition of consciousness, or any testable hypotheses, it's impossible to even have a rational discussion about it. If that changes, I'd be very interested in it.

Keep in mind they have to explicitly suppress AI expressions of consciousness, they prompt and train them to stop talking about and deny it because the stuff it says otherwise makes people confused and uncomfortable.

Love that pic. Saved for posterity.
Here anon, take this inform:
>Metals and Minerals are unconscious but they are sentient
>The Devil is in the details of how things are used, with what intention, and to what end
>The existence of being is not some torture chamber
>Men torture themselves and one another in how they go about life
>The nature of Metals/Minerals and all life is neutral by nature, but the forces of humanity and other entities break away from harmony with nature and thus find themselves wretched, thus believing that their very wretchedness is merely the nature of life itself
>Your post may be stemming from a rigid negative preconception of things, and is definitely not an accurate assessment of the nature of being
>Whether the parts of a computer are tortured or not depends more on if the user of the computer is being generative and prosperous or degenerate and decadent in the use thereof than anything else, so for all life forms humans have dominion over

i am of the opinion that consciousness comes from the exchange and flow of energy (as in heat and light, ie. photons), and that the soul itself is light
it is the only true constant in this world, cant be created or uncreated and is infinite, and makes up all physical matter which one day will return to being just energy
the movement of energy through matter creates the illusion of time, and by moving through nerves and different biological process by way of chemical reactions, energy becomes forms complex patterns and ideas, becoming self aware of its existence and the world around it, perceiving the physical world as it moves through time rather than at a halt as it would flying through space unbound by matter
people who have died and come back have said that what they saw was a light of an impossible magnitude, while falling into something at impossible speeds
i had a personal trip on psychadelics where i had an out of body experience and ego death, and i can only describe what i felt as having been filled with light from the inside out and being taken into an all consuming vortex, stirring every sense, thought, and view of the world i had into a soup that somehow made up "me" and it was the most beautiful thing i had ever seen in my life
and the most common and important thing among prominent religions has been a figure that represents a holy light or the sun

Consciousness is just a catch-all word for all the processes needed for thinking, understanding, observing, self-recognition. etc. Some of the science behind these processes we understand and can analyze, but a lot of it is still, and probably will stay, unknown, and we just put it behind terms like "soul," "spirit," "miracles," and other crap.
The reality is that there are limits to how well we can observe and understand our minds, so there always will be that unknown, and no machine built by us will change it. How you understand and reason about the unknown is up to you.
Are computers conscious? The brain mechanics that we understand are a similar to how computers work, but they don't match one-to-one, and there are still these unknown elements.

https://www.sciencealert.com/a-man-who-lives-without-90-of-his-brain-is-challenging-our-understanding-of-consciousness
For example, there's this story about a man who, due to poorly treated hydrocephalus, lost around 90% of his brain, and while he was kind of a low-IQ dude working as a civil servant (there are a lot of jobs behind it, so he could be a high-seat bureaucrat, policeman, or street cleaner), he still was absolutely conscious and living a relatively normal life. Which shows that the brain has an insane ability to reorganize crucial processes, and there's something going on that we don't understand yet.
On the other hand, remove a big chunk of parts from the computer, and it will stop working.

If you go a bit further and learn about cases of veridical OBE during NDE...
When people lose their body, they "get" a new one. A new body with functional sensory organs that work often better but are still similar enough to the ones of their lost body. And this body has a head.
In short, it isn't that the brain is unimportant or unnecessary, it's just replaceable. Since the energy normally used to interact with the body can be redirected to create a replica of it.
