Purpose

What keeps you going in life? What keeps you grounded despite the ills of the world? Its always nice to see how others persist and thrive despite everything.

Music. The music I play and create on my guitar. Nothing can destroy it or misrepresent it or distort it or take it away from me. It has never abandoned me, or tortured me, or hated me, or rejected me. It has always been there waiting for my return. It has given me indescribable feelings of wonderful emotion and never asked for anything in return. It is my one true friend and my religion, and I'm grateful that fate allowed me this one source of pleasure.

The fact that I'm in a moment of time that I get to exist and be conscious of the fact that I exist. The universe is nearly 14 billion years old. Earth is 4.5 billion years old. Humanity is about 300k years old. "Modern society" is a couple thousand years old. And here I am for this fraction of time, just existing. Absolutely nothing matters when you come down the pure maths of it all, so I just hang around to see what'll happen while I'm here.

I'm trying to figure out how to live well in spite of autism and depression. Hoping that I'll find a solution one day is what keeps me going.

Hope springs eternal. I guess it's debatable whether that's a good thing or not.

Every time I think about killing myself, I think, well, I'd just fuarrrk that up, too, like everything else.
