Does anyone here use Urbit?
If so - does it have any actual utility? My assumption is that it's basically equivalent to a pay-to-use public unix, but using a stack of novel layers (nook, hoon, etc.) instead of just... Unix.
Especially how the overview describes OS1/Landscape. It seems to just be an IRC network in effect.
Which honestly doesn't sound bad. I'd like a comfy space to chat the soykaf in. But if it was just meant to be an attention-grabbing flash-in-the-pan and noone's stuck with it, then I won't bother.
Is it active? Is it comfy, or fun, or actually useful?
