Login/auth blocks 2

Elliot Alderson · 2025-01-29 14:45
As >>39406 reached the bump limit, here's the second. Likewise, this is about login/auth blocks on social media widely affecting the internet, as well as NSFW content. Both of these had clearly lead straight to the internet as a whole becoming more locked down and nonfunctional, making scrapers impossible to extract files, people to view stuff they like, etc. I have researched as many sources as possible over the course of the original thread.
Drifter · 2025-01-29 14:51
>>44005 >"the underfell blog was made private like that by the creators for archival purposes due to drama" Well, I believe it wasn't made private; the Tumblr blog was hidden under a password as indicated by the blog_auth string in the URL's address. Sometimes Tumblr blogs can end up on a login-required or blog_auth string in a URL address like the posts I've previously addressed. As for the ever-growing list, only a couple of sites had been capable of login/auth blocks in comparison to those affecting or banning NSFW content, like Newgrounds, Tumblr and Gumroad (the latter of which was from a Mastodon post). GitHub's gallery-dl repo had problems with scraping NSFW content because of the blocks/bans on the fly. So when I meant "there needs to be a way to curb this without auth" I'm looking at the fact you could browse/scrape freely like in the 2000's when login/auth blocks weren't invented until early 2018 with Tumblr's problematic Safe Mode. >"a digital rights nightmare" >"everyone would fight against it" That's a lot the thread had taken in, since I (the OP of this thread) had researched a LOT of these like it's of significant importance. >4ch has an age consent popup old.reddit.com and e621.net have similar age consent popups/pages as far as we've seen.

As sage wrote, "Although my examples contain alot of content of the sexual nature, these kinds of login walls are used even for the most benign of things like just accessing a website, the measure shouldn't be a thing in the first place. This is not an acceptable tradeoff, as there is literally no reason to make an account for anything." https://www.pcmag.com/news/tumblr-explains-why-it-still-bans-porn-blame-credit-card-companies-apple At the very least, this thread (and the previous) cracks down on arbitrarily login blocks for social media and NSFW age-gates, but I want the internet to be fully accessible like in 2000's when there was no login/auth blocks, in my personal opinion. If you have other opinions on this issue then please let me know. I'm bumping this thread because it's very important.

>>44025 >Well, I believe it wasn't made private; the Tumblr blog was hidden under a password as indicated by the blog_auth string in the URL's address. yes, that's what I mean by private. >Sometimes Tumblr blogs can end up on a login-required or blog_auth string in a URL address like the posts I've previously addressed. this is something else users can do. I'm not sure if you're being deliberately aloof, or actually not getting it. either way, it is a bit concerning.

>>44142 >I'm not sure if you're being deliberately aloof, or actually not getting it. I'm actually giving users like you as much information as much as I can, the topic at hand here raises concerns for the internet's future. >That's what I mean by private (regarding certain Tumblr blogs) I don't mind if we say it's private or hidden via Tumblr, it really doesn't matter which. Going into a tangent, some itch.io games can be hidden under a password or put on private, something I've seen in 2022 but it's like how Tumblr users manage their blogs pretty much. Thank you very much for keeping me updated ;)

>>44143 I just need to know, and I'm sorry for getting political about this. do you think it's wrong that users can do this?
Special Agent Bob · 2025-02-10 04:17
>>44144 You don't need to apologise. As for your question, it's either right or wrong if users need to put their Tumblr accounts/YouTube videos/itch.io games on private. One such example that lingered in my head was SomeOrdinaryGamers putting all his old Haunted Gaming video series private in 2017 because creepypastas "were becoming stale". While I had connected this with the state of creepypastas in general, I believed it was a Luna Game video I was going to watch in 2012 that caused all this, wanting to make SomeOrdinaryGamers unprivatize his old videos. The only threads that point to Steam's "login-based" agecheck problem: https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=steam+%22must+login+to+see+this+content%22+site:steamcommunity.com&sca_esv=6c62cb884638f89e&filter=0&biw=1366&bih=657&dpr=1 Full nudity in Steam Store: https://steamcommunity.com/discussions/forum/1/1735465524722059421/?ctp=3 So many NSFW games on Steam: https://steamcommunity.com/discussions/forum/7/2823131222991189575/ This "login to view" variant of Steam's agecheck is hell and a lot of users have had trouble finding some games that have been flagged. If you want to know, this is where I drove the issue that the internet's dying thanks to login/auth blocks like these. This is terrible.
Nguoi La · 2025-02-17 12:22
Please note that I still need answers on getting rid of login/auth blocks for social media and NSFW content because it's completely wrong if people can't access and/or archive media in the long run. The list I've organised (post >>44082) can help, as I had researched a LOT of these as if it was of significant importance (and still is as of now). As for the ever-growing list, only a couple of sites had been capable of login/auth blocks in comparison to those affecting or banning NSFW content.
Mentat · 2025-02-19 11:09
>>44189 I had found a couple of GitHub links if you guys are interested: - https://github.com/Qwaxi-Lixard/yes-porn-allowed - https://github.com/Qwaxi-Lixard/no-porn-allowed Both of these are lists of different sites and services that differ between banning their usage in affiliation to adult content or not. It's important to not that each site, service, platform, or business may have different limits. In my opinion, Tumblr is supposed to be in the Yes NSFW Allowed list, since I said "Should be allowed; this was (and still is) one of the prime examples of banning porn and such content IS supposed to come back", not the latter because, as I had stated previously, February 2018's Safe Mode function was the reason behind the NSFW content blocks and bans. This is the same thing with opinion on Gumroad stating it "should be allowed". Another thing the one of the lists covered is Steam, via post >>44147 - "Content must be appropriately labeled and age-gated." As I stated, it should be "content must be appropriately labeled", as age-gates have become terrible in recent times. Newgrounds has no references to age-gates for A-rated content on that list, but says "Allowed, if marked". The future of internet accessiblity is uncertain, since I want things to be reversed. Also I found a funny bug on Tumblr via reddit: https://old.reddit.com/r/uBlockOrigin/comments/1hjvs70/tumblr_misbehaving/

https://web.archive.org/web/diff/20220105171207/20220106023308/https://help.twitter.com/en/rules-and-policies/media-policy Twitter imposing restrictions on specific sensitive media, such as adult content (for viewers who are under 18 or viewers who do not include a birth date on their profile) and slapping a "Age-restricted adult content. This content might not be appropriate for people under 18 years old. To view this media, you’ll need to log in to Twitter" tombstone on some NSFW posts had always been a wrong move for guests attempting to view NSFW media. Same thing with Tumblr and Newgrounds, but it's not age, but policy changes so that people can't scrape anything. These tombstones should've been reverted back to their normal "may contain sensitive content; view settings" ones. Do you have any opinions on all of this while this is still going on?
Miho Iwakura · 2025-03-02 08:45
Bumping again since it's important; I know I've haven't been updating this thread in a while. If you have any opinions on tackling login/auth blocks on social media (as well as NSFW content) widely affecting the internet, let me know.

>>44276 don't you think it might be easier to maintain this as like, a neocities page instead of a thread on lainchan? that way it can't be deleted and you won't have to deal with the imageboard format.
John Titor · 2025-03-06 08:55
>>44278 Well, I had been maintaining this on multiple text documents and a recent list I made using Microsoft Word, inspired by Qwaxi-Lixard's lists (as mentioned in post >>44204), and I've been archiving posts on a huge text document. I'm pretty glad that Wayback Machine helps archive a lot of content on here like it has done in the past (eg. NSFW Tumblr blogs before 2018 made them not accessible). Thank you for asking me, though!

>>44349 so is there a reason why you need this thread?
Hong, Guil Dong · 2025-03-07 01:03
>>44353 Yep. Moving on, I found this: https://github.com/TeamNewPipe/NewPipe/discussions/11260 I fear it's one of those login/auth blocks affecting sites, it's upsetting I don't use Piped to watch videos nowadays. A GitHub repo reached out to everyone, saying that "In July, YouTube has started to A/B test the requirement of an anti-bot check on streaming URLs from its HTML5 clients (desktop, mobile and TV websites leading up to a 'sign to confirm that you're not a bot error'), a pot URL query parameter, which leads to invalid responses (HTTP response code 403) after some time, like on the Android app if you do not pass integrity checks (this happened a few times to NewPipe and reVanced which works around the issue). This anti-bot check is hard to implement and requires a full browser environment. [/i] [i]"YouTube started to require the parameter which was before responsible of throttling streaming URLs (n query parameter of streaming URLs) if you do no pass the correct value, computed by the YouTube's JavaScript player. This requirement leads so now to 403 HTTP responses too. [/i] [i]"Since 2nd week of July 2024, YouTube has started to roll out a new JavaScript player which changes how this function can be extracted. The function to return the correct value cannot be extracted currently by the extractor, leading to instant 403 HTTP responses; which had been fixed in the 0.27.1 release." Someone on TeamPiped's GitHub repo did not think this was an IP blacklist issue as they tried using multiple different IPv6 and IPv4 addresses for one of those instance; after successfully watching one or two videos, the issue kept coming back. They thought YouTube has a new way to verify actual clients/detect "bots" - this is backed up by the fact that people having this issue while using NewPipe, are not having this issue when they visit the actual YouTube website and try to watch the same video. NewPipe fixed the bot error, but I want Piped to do the same because I tested a video from the piped.kavin.rocks instance as of yesterday. However, GitHub repos kept limiting issues around this to collaborators. From what I know so far, Piped and Invidious are still suffering from the bot error no matter how many people got affected.

Looking at the links on my previous thread, I found that part of the hyperlink just cuts off. This is when you don't pop the https in the link: old.reddit.com/over18?dest=https%3A%2F%2Fold.reddit.com%2Fr%2FClopClop%2Fcomments%2F13bo02%2Fhoof_beat_2_coming_soon%2Fc72pn6i But if you add https in the url this happens: https://old.reddit.com/over18?dest=https%3A%2F%2Fold.reddit.com%2Fr%2FClopClop%2Fcomments%2F13bo02%2Fhoof_beat_2_coming_soon%2Fc72pn6i Another thing I came up with comes from this: http://web.archive.org/web/20160821151645/http://mylittledoxy.tumblr.com/post/147675005926/n0nd3scr1pt-mylittledoxy-im-removing-all Take note at Doxy screaming out >"Tumblr is not for us anymore, it’s for them" in the post. I thought this is what Tumblr's like nowadays because NSFW content was blocked then derezzed in 2018, while tag searches and anon asks were blocked for guest view, which had been a total downfall. Doxy kind of opened up a can of worms with just that exact phrase, "Tumblr is not for us anymore, it’s for them" back in 2016, making me relate to the state of Tumblr's downfall from 2017-present (Safe Mode, NSFW ban, login walls, login to ask anonymously) in such a simple echo. This seems to be like the perspective on Gaza being in a barren warzone now than the lush landscapes that it used to be. Other quotes I found were: >"It’s really depressing" - gears towards how site changes had a negative impact >"scary-sounding" - could've linked to the 'net, but this is, again, all to do with site changes >"This is the short and long of it." - the research I've been dealing with in 2024 to the present year What are your thoughts on this? Anyways, I really wish for social media to not put up a login wall or block NSFW material. Even Google tries to change my SafeSearch settings on my Samsung Galaxy Tab A but I'd prefer it if the SafeSearch settings were completely disabled. >"completely disabled" Blocking access to sites/content just goes to show me the internet is crumbling, making me wish that login/auth walls and NSFW banning should be completely disabled. And I can't deal with that very well, since it's just change...

Had anyone been using 4k Video Downloader to the point where they got this "Error: failed to download" message? YouTube just raised the restrictions on nearly every downloader online, and blocks downloads to your IP after you download lots of videos. I don't care if people watch YouTube or not, I was ok with the site until Google came and messed it all up, over ad content, Premium subscriptions, etc. Clearly Google ruined YouTube; I don't want YouTube to be overridden with ads before videos or even issuing an IP ban on 4k Video Downloader. In fact, ads before videos is the reason Google ruined YouTube for ever, and I want it to be back to the pre-2011 era. I just cannot take this anymore with the site.

artslush.tumblr.com gave me a message about the blog having mature content when I know it's for NSFW content (like saunterwing.tumblr.com and saunterwing.tumblr.com/post/179982627842/ if the descrpition is of any indication)

>>44683 Normally Tumblr blogs having mature content is to do with NSFW/adult content in general but artslush.tumblr.com was marked as a mature content blog because of gore and body horror? Or this is because it's an old blog somebody doesn't use anymore (at least) and they kept it like this? I'm puzzled because I do not know what happened to a couple of NSFW Tumblr accounts in 2023 (with one mentioned in my previous post). I really don't know about how artslush's blog got a mature flag, can anyone help me about this situation? soya beans

This is happening to me on the majority of videos (~8 out of 10) and on different instances, to the point another user had to go back to using vanilla youtube. http://web.archive.org/web/20240612043331/https://github.com/iv-org/invidious/issues/4734 Any thread that mentions YouTube's bot-checking error on github I came across was "locked as spam and limited conversation to collaborators", like keeping an issue clean from unnecessary comments, leading to too much chaos, and I mean, TOO MUCH. Here are a couple of links: https://github.com/zedeus/nitter/issues/829 https://github.com/zedeus/nitter/discussions/1212 https://github.com/PrivacyDevel/nitter/issues/26 The latter is from StevenNL2000, who says "the problem Nitter is currently facing with NSFW content is that you can only fetch it with authenticated requests, which are rate-limited. However, some of the rate limit is currently being wasted on requests that don't contain any NSFW content at all. "My proposal is to always fetch as a guest first, and only retry with authentication if there was NSFW content in the first response. The idea is that since guest requests are essentially free, the rate limit will be used up less quickly and instances will hopefully become more usable." For me, the rate-limits and countries are not a problem, but companies themselves trying to keep us away from archiving NSFW content. e621.net spoke about Twitter/X slowly blocking guests from viewing (and scraping) NSFW tweets: https://e621.net/forum_topics/32720 And I was checking any instance of somebody making an announcement that was making their move from Tumblr to Twitter because of the NSFW ban on the former via furbooru.org (I know I had problems with them via http://web.archive.org/web/20240314094426/https://lainchan.org/r/res/36744.html but like e621.net, they scrape and archive images that affected by NSFW content blocks and bans).

>>46277 >"Government laws force Steam to censor what you can view" When I checked Steam Workshop because LMJ updated her Beast mod, I saw it not being present anywhere. The mod in question wasn't blocked in the first place to even begin with. I saw it within the second page of the "most popular" mods in 2022; back then that mod could be downloaded, but who am I kidding? Blame the goverment for letting censorship HURT a prime example. Intrestingly, LMJ explained that there was an argument between her and Snowy_Roads (aka Atreue) after they wanted to buy the character from her, offering LMJ $4000 but she declined. Weeks later, LMJ gave Snowy_Roads the mod character and all of the files I had for the mod, including the mod files themselves for The Binding of Isaac. Snowy_Roads started DMing LMJ's IRL friends somehow and telling them that she didn't send them the "Animation Files". Still to this very day, Snowy_Roads kept pulling emotional manipulation and lie nonsense when LMJ is somehow still being nice to them. That's very interesting but, why go though the haggling when it's affected by the goverment?

I had addressed that Steam, Newgrounds, Pixiv, and other sites are blocking guests from viewing or even archiving NSFW content. And sites like Facebook and Twitter even blocks guests from browsing. Another thing I want to bring up is that "delaying(?) could allow more and more login blocks to increase in number until they are justly dealt with, especially when it comes to archiving pornography and accessing sites; something I've effectively addressed. >>46607 >"They are killing all competition that is not owned by their friends." The login/auth blocks in general is killing guest accessibility, like going on Twitter - only to find a login wall when, you know, there isn't a need for it. And archiving NSFW content is going to be a problem as well. When I researched Collective Shout's coverage of Steam and itch.io censorship, I thought, "what even is this?". I was bamboozled. Collective Shout seems to be affiliated with the problems that NCOSE has; I don't believe it's a Puritian move but flat-out censorship - but a few saw this and aggressively called out to the charity (which is Australia-based). I've never heard of that charity before but I think they are pursuing a long-standing battle to ban NSFW content from other platforms. And here I am going back to continue this long-standing battle of accessibility for guests who want to view, let's say, Tumblr, for site searches as well as bringing back NSFW content from the 2018 apocalypse - all without an alternate frontend like Tumbig. ... whew. >>46603 What happened with the Vice article? >>46610 Found a quote from that Vice link: >"it’s about protecting free expression – If they get their way, it won't stop here". I've applied the idea of "censorship could be hit by an unknown force" because it's a "you either support it or you hate it" situation for anyone in the community. Be it defensive or not, I feel like it's a tough situation to grasp. >They have no power so they can't be more than a excuse. Well, to be honest, some companies have rights. Nothing beyond our control, and is again, a "you either support it or you hate it" situation for anybody. I'm not involved, it's... companies being companies? This is a lot to unpack for those new here and/or just visiting.

After looking further into it it seems its a international operation to kill internet anonymity. Australia will get auth blocks for identification in december, EU next year. They use "protecting kids from porn, hate speech etc." as the excuse as usual. UK got it just yesterday and its already giving an idea of the implementation. Also call me shizo but i noticed the australian ngo that got used to justify payment processors attacking steam/itch.io has the same logo as the authentication company currently policing UK visitors on reddit.

Well, the Itch.io guidelines seem to be trending on Bluesky today: https://bsky.app/profile/trending.bsky.app/feed/346345733 Good grief, this stuff about Itch.io gets everywhere! And it's because a few people reached out to me about it. A charity removes a game from Steam and changes a part of their ToS thanks to a lot of people signing a petition? Really?! This is too much to take in! Anyway, baroness.bsky.social‬ said: "Having checked itch a few times now, I can confirm a lot of games, including erotic games, are back to being listed again. "There are also some reports from creators their non-porn games were listed again after unticking the 'sensitive to minors' box. Itch doesn't actually have a porn tick box." Another one showed that a game/project was delisted: https://bsky.app/profile/eddyratt.bsky.social/post/3luqdppmags22 And lastly, mandoqueer.itch.io‬ and gifti3.bsky.social are attempting to keep track of games which have been removed from itch and attempting to help in knowing where authors of this content are moving. The document has registered 100 games and counting: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1HxoIm1KiFsXn0e6pjmeV3j3TdAWnnDWXKjE7C6Ka-x4/edit?gid=1806152370#gid=1806152370

>>46619 itch.io is similar to Tumblr and Gumroad in banning NSFW content/payment issues now. Speaking of Tumblr, I want visual depictions of sexually explicit acts or content with an overt focus on genitalia to be allowed on the site, and blogs sharing sexually explicit content never to be terminated because I 100% care about NSFW content. Tumblr should be bringing back porn. Same as itch.io and Gumroad. Banning adult content on sites like this kept the sites in decline. Same as blocking the accessibility of NSFW content for guests. Same as blocking the accessibility of social media sites for guests. Yes, I want this to stop, flat-out stop. No content labels or login walls.
Switch · 2025-07-27 14:57
>>46620 Tumblr had an issue of porn spamming accounts that were operated by bots that try to follow random people. Not that I am against sexual content but those were annoying. I thought the deal with Tumblr was because of the passing of FOSTA-SESTA in 2018. This same time every website derezzed any sexual content or nudity including by file storage services and lal the big tech giants. Though it probably was a case of both.
Zhora · 2025-07-27 15:10
>>46621 had to check what FOSTA-SESTA is, how are anti sex traffic laws relevant for drawings? Did they sneak in "all porn derezzed" to include drawings?
Anamika · 2025-07-28 01:42
>>46622 That has to do with unverified claims by NCOSE and Collective Shout, to name a few groups, of underage porn attempted to be hosted or sold through site for drawings but also because at some point during George W Bush administration US law started counting drawings as illegal under the special circumstance they are made using real people so for example traced underage porn could be argued to fall under this, but that also often is unverifiable and similarities can be pure coincidence. The law change was more intended for CGI that completely models realistic actual minors motion capture and all since they wrongly claimed it would be used to circumvent the law but likely it was motivated to increase the surveillance state because no previous case even existed to even try to justify the law change. This is a bit confusing on why Pixiv also derezzed Fanbox commission for art that is not actually illegal under US law except for old outdated obscenity laws nearly never used but I assume the NCOSE or Collective Shout lied to the Japanese owners after they got the payment processors to go after them. After the change to rules pressure don them Pixiv implemented content blocks on anyone outside of Japan, though kind of randomly where it is difficult to tell what tags they are blocking, so you had to change your location you appear as to view some artwork so login blocks and ID checks are not even the only methods currently locking people out of content on websites making them jump through all sorts of hoops. Worst case scenario is these methods combined where websites all over will begging to be fully region locked and require local ID to access proving your citizenship.
Lord Nikon · 2025-07-28 04:59
>>46623 >unverified claims That is strange. But people on social media had began protests on Collective Shout, Visa and Mastercard, and boy it's chaotic. >>46621 >Tumblr had an issue of porn spamming accounts that were operated by bots that try to follow random people That should've been derezzed in 2018, not actual NSFW content, keeping actual media and blogs in the long run. The login wall problem still persists, on the other hand and I really want that gone from the site, too.

>>46644 McAfee marked sleazyfork as suspicious but thank you for this. Anyway I found out that HFTGOOM has been restricted in the UK on itch.io thanks to the Online Safety Act: https://bsky.app/profile/tmccue.bsky.social/post/3lv37l56vzc2i If you can remember, I've spoken about Steam blocking games like this one, and itch.io asking for your age consents for some games with this GB game being an example. But this - restricting NSFW content - is wrong and getting out of control. From https://itch.io/t/5133739/our-update-on-the-uk-online-safety-act, the staff said that as of July 25, 2025, the OSA requires platforms to implement age verification systems to prevent minors from accessing adult content, and that itch.io have had to implement geographic restrictions on project pages with NSFW or adult content for UK users. The site had added a “Geo Restrictions” tab to the Distribute section of a project’s dashboard that has a combination of the “Has sensitive content” setting and the use of specific tags: “porn,” “adult,” “hentai,” “erotic,” and “sex”, automatically applying a restriction in the UK. This is a huge mistake because, like I've said countless times before, I want NSFW content accessible for guests without age-gates, age checks, or global restrictions, like I've seen in the past. The very same is applied to social media websites being free of login walls. And yes, the author of HFTGOOM launched a new, self-hosted website: https://taylormccue.neocities.org All the games can be accessed here without any problems! So that's super cool :D

I have been checking the Google Doc on the Itch.io issue time after time, and the people that are still working on the document have updated the list of games, books, etc. It's here: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1HxoIm1KiFsXn0e6pjmeV3j3TdAWnnDWXKjE7C6Ka-x4/edit?gid=1806152370#gid=1806152370 Some of the games are currently unavailable or currently suspended - for example, a trilogy of games by Chimériquement. Another link I've found: https://www.gamesindustry.biz/whats-going-on-with-steam-and-itchios-crackdown-on-adult-content Like I've said over and over again, I want Tumblr to bring back all NSFW content, same with itch.io and Gumroad, without a problem - be it age verfication or age-gates. If a site keeps banning adult content on sites like Tumblr, it keep the sites in decline. It's the vey same as blocking the accessibility of NSFW content for guests and blocking the accessibility of social media sites for guests with login walls. Why? It's not right at all. Login walls and age-gates are killing the internet. This place is like the only thing we have left.

Today, I was thinking about if login/auth blocks and NSFW content blocks affected the robots.txt for websites. In 2014, I called out in regards to this Tumblr account, creepyponies.tumblr.com, being flagged as mature and disallowed robots.txt on sites such as Google: https://web.archive.org/web/20181211191221/http://creepyponies.tumblr.com/post/80065708517/i-have-elected-to-flag-this-blog-for-mature The author, aisu-isme said this was a cleanup, but if this broke the mould for flagging NSFW content this way, creepyponies.tumblr.com would be the first, in my opinion. Note that this was a change I wasn't able to cope with at the time, but nowadays it's nothing much at all! And of course, I'm just experimenting with ideas like this one because sometimes, I ramble on with ideas and opinions. So, can blocks and bans affect robots.txt/webcrawler flagging as of yet? This happened with Tumblr in 2017, when it was more commonplace. Picture's unrelated!

Itch.io should have been able to provide this specific content or service to users in the UK even if they hope to make more content available in the future. This is a huge error and restrictions like this are incorrectly applied. Why? Because OSA is wrong BS.

I've checked their Tumblr for more information on whatever date the restrictions were misplaced, but I couldn't find anything there. However, Ofcom and/or OSA is wrong to affect people viewing/scaping specific material, especially NSFW content and I wish the OSA to be scrapped because, like I've said before, "it's going to make accessibly and scraping of NSFW content even harder until people like us revert the situation". This ridiculous OSA censorship had gone way too far for opinion sakes, because it ruined everything. Last night, I had a panic attack because of this and another issue on the internet elsewhere. Reverting censorship must happen, so likewise it's a case of disregarding censorship more than 100%.

>>46731 There's a new trending feed for itch.io: https://bsky.app/profile/trending.bsky.app/feed/370977141 One of these I came across was from https://bsky.app/profile/sjklapecki.itch.io/post/3lwc6nzwggs2l which was about a user just recalculating the entire risk assessment. It was linked to a post from itch.io themselves in a reply to a login/auth blocked account about 'monster girls' being flagged as a secret NSFW tag, saying that "it's possible at some point [the user] could have added a tag to [their] page that is commonly associated with explicit adult content." From this post (https://bsky.app/profile/shorknsfw.bsky.social/post/3lwc4jwald22r), it was a SFW connect-3 puzzle game that got affected because "their system is designed to quarantine certain content in advance". There's a thread all about this: https://bsky.app/profile/cometoblivion.bsky.social/post/3lwc5wkjwmc2l Another post from https://bsky.app/profile/eev.ee/post/3lwc5ss7nms2l talks about making a long thread, wanting itch.io to explain why each of a dozen games is deindexed, saying "they would have to sift through it all." "Why would a game be deindexed when it has no explicit content?" the user asked, before "it's tagged 'mature', what are we doing here?" Another post I found is from https://bsky.app/profile/foxyoreos.bsky.social/post/3lwc55cpmnk2a about the site, https://stop-paypros.neocities.org/ and I found something interesting regarding UK's OSA: "The UK's adoption of the Online Safety Act has similar motives as Collective Shout's outcry to censor sexual content, and just as much overreaches into anything they deem as "obscene", such as LGBTQ+ content. The bill's aim isn't to protect who they claim to protect, but rather an excuse to censor whatever they see fit." Some misinformation in indexing on itch.io: https://bsky.app/profile/thefreeradical.org/post/3lwbwbhtmqc23 This thread's huge! It's about games being invisible from autocomplete (one of the main ways people find games) and games being deindexed when they know it's SFW, and a game jam has also reportedly seen over half of its 200 and more games delisted, with several removed from itch.io completely. It's on Rock, Paper, Shotgun, too: https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/itchios-mass-delisting-of-paid-adult-content-has-also-affected-safe-for-work-games-with-yuri-or-lesbian-themes-devs-claim >>46726 I had posted about what happened to pixelrye/ClingingLies's itch.io page on Uboachan before it got deleted, causing me to repost it. This user makes SFW Yume Nikki fangames with animal characters, but nothing's wrong with them, it's the OSA restricting their account page for the wrong reasons, since the user's games have always been SFW, like all the other games being affected by itch.io in the long run.

When I tested www.youtube.com/watch?v=rKVReaoJHvc on the original 4K Video Downloader, it instead read "can't parse this link". However, I used other video converters that bypass this age-gate without issue. The real strangest thing here is that I don't know why Blits Azalis Dash (the creator of the speedpaint) would flag it when the video has content warnings/notices over the place. Thanks to XCancel, I found that this link (https://e-hentai.org/g/3399371/b98c41630e/) bought up a message about the content being unavailable in the United Kingdom "due to intrusive and privacy-invasive mandatory age verification legally required by the Online Safety Act" instead of viewing media (yes, I was being nosy). Again, the reason OSA should be scrapped, and yes it's even mentioned in https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Online_Safety_Act_2023#Age_verification because Section 12 of the Act states that service providers have been using age verification or age estimation technology in order to prevent users from being able to access primary priority content unless they are appropriately-aged. This provision shouldn't apply to all services that allow categories of primary priority content to be made available, including social networks and internet pornography because I care hugely on people viewing and archiving this sort of stuff. I'm old enough to view things like this, and I'm one of many who wants this nonsense reduced to nothing. I want the OSA gone since it ruins your experience (especially if you are over 18 years old).

First off, this list of login/auth blocks hadn't been updated in a while. itch.io: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1HxoIm1KiFsXn0e6pjmeV3j3TdAWnnDWXKjE7C6Ka-x4/edit?gid=1806152370#gid=1806152370 >>46675 >"Itch.io has begun reindexing NSFW projects" However, this only applies to free projects, while the platform's looking for a way to reindex paid projects. >>46717 4K Video Downloader had gave me "Error: failed to download" message/IP bans from YouTube yet again, possibly because my copy hasn't updated in a while. Whenever this happens, I have been using amp4.cc to download YouTube videos instead. If anybody knows how YouTube handles IP bans, please let me know.

If you watch spiderman x elsa videos and then a bunch of capeshit and minecraft, it will flag you as an underage and you will need to validate your identity to google to verify that you are in fact a real human bean who is over 18. Don't be too concerned about it, its only datamining.

>>46986 Well, I've found that message about YouTube extending teen protection via Tumblr. I am not sure if this is going to affect the UK and other parts of the world, but we'll see. - Going back to the itch.io and Steam issues regarding games, itch.io deindexed Fear and Hunger and Fear and Hunger 2: Termina. Had anyone noticed this? While I had seen this via a Tumblr post, I haven't seen Steam delist both Fear and Hunger games. It's possibly because both games were preserved if itch.io can't keep up with their payment processors over the state of their NSFW issue (which Steam shares with). - >>45891 >>46896 XCancel had fixed the accessibility on NSFW content. I don't know if it still works, but two year ago when they newgrounds phased in login for nsfw content, i figured out they secured access to nsfw art mainly by obfuscating the ngfiles url and you could realistically bruteforce it by looking at the ids in the download link of any surrounding non-nsfw submissions. This is the script i used: #!/bin/rc if(! ~ $#* 3) {echo Usage: ngidspn n m addr >[1=2]; exit 1} n=`{expr $1 + 1}; m=`{expr $2 - 1}; a=`{echo $3 | sed 's/.*newgrounds\.com\/art\/view\///'} u seq $n $m | {while(i=`{read} && ! flag c) if(wget https://art.ngfiles.com/images/`{expr $i / 1000 '*' 1000}^/$i^_`{echo $a | cut -d/ -f 1}^_`{echo $a |cut -d/ -f 2}^.png) flag c +;}

>>47309 My word... how did you do that? Most of the time on Newgrounds you're able to see E, T and M-rated content. I remembered that, in 2022, A-rated content could still be accessed because the auth blocks were disabled previously due to the high volume of new accounts and associated anti-spam API calls; hence the reshuffling of where NG does spam checks: https://www.newgrounds.com/bbs/topic/1511759/1 NG had updated the age-gates thanks to OSA, which seems fair on accounts who had been ten years old: https://www.newgrounds.com/bbs/topic/1549829/1 better than itch.io... sigh. The team said, "the flow isn’t perfect at the moment", and they are using Yoti for age verification.

Imgur had stopped people uploading NSFW content to the site and now they are stopping people in the UK from browsing the site: https://help.imgur.com/hc/en-us/articles/31844016762779-Explicit-content-on-Imgur https://imgur.com/a/URkPW92 (https://help.imgur.com/hc/en-us/articles/41592665292443-Imgur-access-in-the-United-Kingdom and https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c4gzxv5gy3qo) This should have not even happened because the UK Online Safety Act ruined everything for sites such as itch.io. "Some Imgur users and reports speculated as to whether Imgur moved to block UK users from its services, rather than comply with child safety duties recently imposed on some platforms under the Online Safety Act" BBC said - and this is all the OSA's fault for killing websites. Same thing goes with Tumblr in 2018, all because Safe Mode was implemented to block the hell out of people scraping NSFW content. This is something I really want changed and counteracted upon so that accessibility remains true for the future. I want people to enjoy searching for things as a guest, no geoblocks, no age checks and no login walls at all. Forever.

Google has locked SafeSearch settings to filter on my IP address thanks to "local laws"... double-checked it's not even in the help page. That should've never happened because I liked it when Google never even implemented SafeSearch to begin with. Again, OSA's fault, and that ruins everything for me as well as everyone in the UK without any login credentials. Anybody getting the same thing while browsing Google? Thanks in advance.

I really want Tumblr to reallow NSFW content, and the OSA to be scrapped because it's ruining the internet. I know I'm autistic but all of this had impacted people who really want to archive NSFW material at their own leisure. I mean, Tumblr changed their rules in 2022, but that's not enough. What I want for Tumblr is 100% bringing back NSFW content and blogs, if not just the accessibility. Speaking of which: https://archive.is/o8JZg Somebody mentioned censorship, but why would people do that when all they were trying to do was get the message across like I am in this thread about the issues that the internet is currently facing?

>>47321 >"Some Imgur users and reports speculated as to whether Imgur moved to block UK users from its services, rather than comply with child safety duties recently imposed on some platforms under the Online Safety Act" BBC said..." It's actually because Imgur was blocked in the UK in response to a potential fine from the Information Commissioner's Office regarding its handling of children's personal data. This is something I want reverted for all UK users as well as NSFW content being allowed again because I care a lot about people scraping NSFW content in general.

>>47745 Interestingly, this was a game I've tested for the 18+ message that recently changed to really ask you for your date of birth, which has, in my own honest opinion, has become repetitive on a lot of websites whenever it comes to NSFW content. Also, this meant that the creator page is blocked because of UK's OSA. The game itself isn't delisted, and/or part of those documents where people tracked down NSFW games on itch.io being deindexed, but I am not sure on why. https://web.archive.org/web/20231104035145/cobalt-studio.itch.io/anamnesis (please do not check 'remember settings' and click 'I'm over 18', I am not doing it at all)

Remember when I covered a Steam user on my old thread? https://lainchan.org/r/res/39406.html#q42024 This is a prime example that Steam blocking NSFW content is wrong and that a TBoI mod (that changes most sprites to NSFW ones) is, indeed, floating around. However, the example I showed you here? https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2776184908 Has this image been deleted because of the controversy that unfolded in regards to Collective Shout's impact on Steam, itch.io and payment options? If the game's a third-party one that got on to Steam, had that been affected/taken down by said controversy?

Forgot to add an image for post >>47815 so I did just that. However, I had recently used TurboScribe to view YouTube videos because some YouTube converters aren't working on my laptop. All the video links I've copied and pasted from Piped (as there still is a bot issue that's blocking us from viewing videos) worked on there despite the poor quality. Sometimes these expire and give you 403 errors, meaning that you have to refresh TurboScribe with the YouTube link included. This link, however? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LCtBk0D0ls8 (it's a Twitch stream VoD) Pasting that URL in TurboScribe had given me 403 errors from the start instead of a video. I don't know if this is an age-gated video? Copyright restrictions? I've added an image for URL details, but if both are the same, what of YT:LCtBk0D0ls8 or other videos affected in this way?

In the previous thread I've mentioned YouTube had issues regarding some age-restricted videos: https://lainchan.org/r/res/39406.html#q41881 However, while I may be okay with age-restricted videos on YouTube (because the site's been greatly affected by adverts before videos), there's another problem that should be dealt with. If age-restricted YouTube videos get embedded in a web page, you'll see the message "This video is age-restricted and only available on YouTube. Learn more; Watch on YouTube", and I have grown sick and tired of it since this causes a lot of problems for those who had an account on YouTube. Here's a Google link: https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/2802167?hl=en-GB Seriously, YouTube has gone as far as keeping accounts away from viewing age-restricted videos on third-party sites. Not just anybody without an account, but those with an account as well, which has been unfair for them because said videos would have been viewable anywhere on the web. As for me, this had become repetitive on a Tumblr blog where a couple of posts (if not just reposts) share the same video and I've grown sick of this. When I put the video ID (which the Tumblr blog mentioned) in Piped (a YouTube alt frontend)'s search, it bought up an image with a blurred-out thumbnail, which is typical for YouTube videos that are age-restricted: https://piped.kavin.rocks/results?search_query=OKcz6m4KpyI However, when I put the URL of the video in TurboScribe to download, it stopped at 47% and came back with "Unable to download anything from this URL". Does this look similar to post >>46869 (when I used 4K Video Downloader Plus)?

>>47862 Forgotten to post the images in the previous post. As I've said, YouTube has gone as far as keeping people with YouTube accounts away from viewing age-restricted videos on third-party sites and has become repetitive. The videos would have been viewable anywhere on the web if YouTube didn't slap a redirecting wall of text when people have an account with their D.O.B. credentials. God forbid.
Nell · 2025-12-13 03:53
>>47862 I think this is because the creator of that video had disabled downloading it off of TurboScribe. Speaking of which, the site had given me more 403 errors from the beginning, like the one I've mentioned in >>47816 Does anyone know why this keeps happening?

>>47863 This same issue with YouTube happened again with another video (video ID is VhAkTSzcuCQ) and I inspected it via Chrome's code console... thingy. More details in the first image. Like I've said, YouTube has gone as far as keeping people with YouTube accounts away from viewing age-restricted videos on third-party sites and has become repetitive. On another tangent, there was a whole slew of 'just posted [controversial] art of Minkie Pie' reposts on Tumbig: https://www.tumgik.com/isaac-blooms-archives (yes the very same blog I've mentioned in the previous post) One of the reposts was referring to Vivziepop and a (broken) Tumblr video, which somehow gave me an 'access denied' error? That post in question was mysteriously deleted off of Tumblr when I was going to inspect the console for details on the video.

Found out that TikTok is doing the same thing with age-gating videos, because when I accessed this link (https://www.tiktok.com/@zoochosisgame?lang=en-GB) there's a message between the profile and videos that reads "Posts that some may find uncomfortable are unavailable. Log in to make the most of your TikTok experience". Another source was from Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/rickbeldenpoet/videos/i-discovered-yesterday-that-tiktok-is-restricting-visibility-of-this-video-and-r/1527258135154898/ I had said this countless times that age-restricting content to login authentications on sites like Twitter, Tumblr and Steam is 100 percent wrong and cruel in so many ways. This is censorship of people's browsing freely on the web. Speaking of Steam, DreadXP released a game as shareware after a last-minute change to the game store's terms of service (which wasn't only covered here, but also https://lainchan.org/inter/res/8709.html): https://dreadxp.com/vile-is-derezzed/ For those who weren't already aware, there were many games removed from Steam and one of these caught in the crossfire was VILE: Exhumed. Intended to be released for sale on July 22, 2025 via Steam, the game was removed from Steam and (wrongfully) derezzed for sale over “sexual content with depictions of real people” on July 28, 2025. What this actually resulted in was taking power and storytelling away from women, other marginalized artists, and ultimately, from everyone. It's a direct attack on creative expression and artistic freedom. But in August 5 2025, DreadXP published VILE: Exhumed as a free, downloadable game that supports charity profits, and people screaming out "DISREGARD CENSORSHIP" and "This is all thanks to Collective Shout and payment processors unfortunately". Very cruel indeed.

>>48086 This had been mentioned in a television advertisement for TikTok via ITV1, saying "some functions require people to be older" in comparison to the 13+ recommendation for people using the site (in tiny advert print). Whenever I said "age-restricting content to login authentications on sites", I'm referring to how sites are taking the accessibility of some content away from everyone; a direct attack on people's freedom to browse/scrape freely like in the 2000's when login/auth blocks weren't invented until early 2018 with Tumblr's problematic Safe Mode, which I had believed the reason behind their NSFW content purge and nothing else that sparked this off.

>>46886 I had tried https://bskyviewer.github.io/ for https://bsky.app/profile/sjklapecki.itch.io/post/3lwc6nzwggs2l since my mind was begging to know the login/auth blocked (private) account behind the SFW connect-3 puzzle game that was flagged for NSFW incorrectly on itch.io to this day as well as the game mentioned. This hasn't been the case since the author's account was either closed or deleted, I don't know which. I had other problems with bsky.social and/or bskyviewer, alongside other Tumblr alternate frontends. https://www.tumgik.com/isaac-blooms-archives would show up images but now it never shows them and gives me "403 Forbidden/nginx" errors. This works however: https://www.tumlook.com/isaac-blooms-archives Speaking of which, DecendingAbel (Isaac Blooms) ignored the criticism that he received from a user on BlueSky who called him out for "not mature tagging his art properly", saying Isaac claimed "[his] account was age-restricted" via a YouTube livestream when it was login-auth blocked, and he then blocked that person afterwards. I have the proof from isaac-blooms-archives (from a post at 12:21pm, on Nov 5, 2025): >"I don't know if he had decided to mature tag his blusky art or not because I don't have access to his account because it's login users only AND blusky viewer doesn't say whether or not the art is tagged." [/i] >>43426 Remember that pyromaniacblujay's Twitter, BlueSky and Tumblr accounts were only accessible to logged in users for a short span? Turns out her BlueSky account is still inaccessible to guests: https://bsky.app/profile/incendiary.bsky.social/post/3lvnws7ggik2m (https://bsky.app/profile/pyromaniacblujay.bsky.social) I thought the post was made by this user, also login-blocked (https://bsky.app/profile/did:plc:5vab3odbqwguptaolbny2dhn), but no, this is pyromaniacblujay's doing. The post (when I viewed it on bskyviewer) was actually from pyromaniacblujay's BlueSky account. All the other accounts by her were login-auth blocked for a short while, but the BlueSky account pyromaniacblujay has is still affected by the login-auth block - and now made me extremely angry at her for how she is still doing this. IncendiaryOCT mentioned this in 2025. Note that in the image attached clearly mentions the word "her". If you highlight the account link (pyromaniacblujay.bsky.social), the preview shows a blurred profile picture. The image attached in this post shows a repost that clearly says "Sign-in Required", when it should not even be here and should've displayed the ACTUAL post instead. I have stated this over and over again, that setting an online social media account to a login-blocked state is wrong and I won't tolerate it at all, even with NSFW accounts. seriously stuart what the heck is wrong with you i hate hate HATE how pyromaniacblujay's bluesky account is still login-auth blocked get it UNBLOCKED FOR EVER Last but not least, Tumbig fetches error 500 no matter how much you try using the site. In case you didn't know, here's what started it for me: https://web.archive.org/web/20251207052400/https://www.tumblr.com/isaac-blooms-archives/798602953255747584/isaac-just-posted-sa-art-of-minkie-pie-what-the I know they made a document about the login-auth blocked account (desendingabel.bsky.social) as seen here - https://docs.google.com/document/d/1qcCUYJhn8chlow03IUm3gcJxbFVWoZbDszVASIw-_ag/edit?tab=t.0 - and upon inputting the account name in https://bskyviewer.github.io/ it worked, but now I kept getting this message: <strong>Error fetching posts</strong> Could not find user: desendingabel.bsky.social Take note there was a whole lot of reblogs regarding that one post but the account well known for that art deleted itself. On another tangent: >>48086 TikTok used to show this on searches and accounts but are now age-gated only on accounts and that's something that needs reverting. Example is in pic for reference.

Another site has been targeted by the UK Online Safety Act: https://cybernews.com/uk/how-to-use-vpn/twitchs-new-face-scan-age-verification-hits-uk-users/ Twitch began enforcing a new age-verification system in the United Kingdom that requires some users to complete a face-scan check before accessing mature content on 15 September 2025. This issue has also reached a wider portion of UK accounts, and had affected mature-tagged games on Twitch streams, Twitch chat participation, 18+ Twitch VODs and clips from Twitch streams. Again, it's in response to increasing pressure created by the UK Online Safety Act and new requirements for platforms hosting potentially harmful or adult content. Many users in the UK have encountered mandatory age-gated prompts and are indeed suffering. This is why I had urged people to combat censorship and the UK Online Safety Act 2023 to be wholly scrapped by the UK government. https://wiki.archiveteam.org/index.php/Twitch has not mentioned anything to do with this.

>>48344 I know this from some of the thing's I've learned about. One of these is via https://wiki.archiveteam.org/index.php/E621: >"e621 is hosted in Arizona, United States, and is at risk of being impacted by any age-verification laws passed by that state" USA and UK are the only regions I know that have been impacted by any age-verification laws and login blocks, but I want it to be reversed for complete, anonymous browsing, like Twitter/X and Gumroad. GitHub has a lot of issues covering both of these problems.

>>48129 It's possible that the reason behind why pyromaniacblujay's BlueSky account had been only accessible to logged in users is because she made mature-tagged art like that of DecendingAbel's (labeled as graphic/gore). Nevertheless, whatever she did to her BlueSky account is wrong and I really want her to revert it - and this happened when I ran the incendiary.bsky.social account in blusky viewer. >>46726 I had forgotten that Taylor McCue's HFTGOOM game was affected by UK Online Safety Act restrictions: https://xcancel.com/TaylorMcCue5/status/1950035089359794635 This also caused her entire itch.io profile to be ruined by the OSA while it was also targeted by itch.io's indexing problems for NSFW content. Here's an issue to compare with. pixelrye.itch.io's account was incorrectly affected by OSA restrictions because there was a possible game on their profile that was NSFW, yet there's nothing I can make of it and it has been incorrectly restricted. Taylor McCue, on the other hand, had HFTGOOM restricted by the OSA, which blew up her profile page as well. This, Google, and other sites being affected by the OSA is the reason why I want people like me to revert censorship, with one of these cases being to thwart the OSA.

Some of the adverts on UK bus lanes contained a QR code that leads to https://mullvad.net/en/and-then/uk. The VPN site said that censorship had escalated, including the Online Safety Act 2023. This is something that must be stopped, because it had ruined websites such as Google, itch.io, e-hentai.org and many others. I've had enough of sites filtering, age-gating or EVEN banning NSFW material, especially when it came to Tumblr in 2017. This is the very same with login/auth blocks, affecting and restricting guest accessibility, especially on sites such as Tumblr and Twitter: -https://www.google.com/search?q=twitter+login+block+site:www.reddit.com&client=tablet-android-samsung-rev2&sca_esv=598195629&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwiny6v29tqDAxV4X0EAHU_YBtIQrQIoBHoECB4QBQ&biw=1128&bih=1571&dpr=1.5 -https://old.reddit.com/r/DataHoarder/comments/pa6dra/twitter_starts_to_require_login_to_view_tweets/ -https://www.google.com/search?q=tumblr+login+block+site%3Awww.reddit.com&client=tablet-android-samsung-rev2&sca_esv=598195629&biw=1128&bih=1571&ei=r82iZafSJ-zPhbIP5cONmAM&ved=0ahUKEwjn5ZX49tqDAxXsZ0EAHeVhAzMQ4dUDCBA&uact=5&oq=tumblr+login+block+site%3Awww.reddit.com&gs_lp=Egxnd3Mtd2l6LXNlcnAiJnR1bWJsciBsb2dpbiBibG9jayBzaXRlOnd3dy5yZWRkaXQuY29tSOZNUPoaWM1LcAF4AJABAJgBmQKgAbAIqgEFNC40LjG4AQPIAQD4AQHiAwQYASBBiAYB&sclient=gws-wiz-serp#ip=1 -https://wip.tumblr.com/tagged/anonymous%20asks Image unrelated?

However for California that's only until 2027 because SB 976 (Protecting Our Kids from Social Media Addiction Act) still has age verification provisions that could be enacted if not successfully challenged on that effective date: https://wikipedia.org/wiki/SB_976

>>48895 Yeah, I am at my wit's end with the restrictions on NSFW material and the UK's OSA ruining the future of the internet. Although we are over 18 years old, this does not mean the internet's accessibility to view some content had been tampered with. I had constantly objected to censorship too much that it had crippled the way I use the internet (in contrast to other people's). I've seen this with a couple of things. One of these was attempting to tackle mislabelling material as censorship: - https://archive.is/Td5NY - https://archive.is/pF6rj - https://archive.is/1KCkf Another was rejected by an organization responsible for approving all adverts and ensuring they comply with the rules set by the authorities (https://mullvad.net/en/and-then/uk). >>48895 >>48897 If you could remember the old thread, PixelJail made a lot of posts in regards to their first animation they uploaded to Newgrounds via baragg.net a couple of years back. To recap, PixelJail (who lives in Edinburgh, UK) said via https://naughtyniche.art/product/bb1/ (the site has a age-confirmation javascript issue but now hit with geo-restrictions in the UK thanks to the Online Safety Act): >"The animation [i][in question]/i] is completely free to watch online in full" Reference in image (spoilered so that it is compliant with Lainchan's rules). While they posted stills of this via baraag.net and linked the account that would lead to the video on Newgrounds in each, PixelJail posted this: https://baraag.net/@PixelJail/110182311525990839 This contained a link to the video via https://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/879987. PixelJail said the animation is completely free to watch online, but it had been blocked by the site's brute-forced "login to view" messages just as I had suspected. From https://github.com/mikf/gallery-dl/issues/2456 the actual URLs are not behind a login, only the portal page, and I wanted it accessible because, like I had said before, I am at my wit's end with the restrictions on NSFW material and the UK's OSA ruining the future of the internet. >>48914 Continuing from previous post. https://github.com/mikf/gallery-dl/issues/2456 had been recently closed, however, this is not going to solve the issue here. Plenty of A-rated material on Newgrounds have been affected by login/auth blocks, like so many other sites before the UK Online Safety Act crushed any hopes in archiving NSFW/adult material, as well as other local laws. The old thread I was mentioning was my first login/auth blocks thread within this very board. PixelJail mentioned that their first animation [was] completely free to watch online in full when I know full well guests cannot, and I wanted guest accessibility restored for scraping the video into an archive, like with all other media. Reference in image (spoilered so that it is compliant with Lainchan's rules because of some text). I want Tumblr to unban all NSFW content, unblock tag searches and unblock anon asks for guests. Yes, I am autistic but the site's staff must at least allow NSFW content for ever in my personal opinion and never lay a god-awful finger to blogs sharing sexually explicit content, but get rid of the spambots. I am at my wit's end in regards to all of this.

>>48917 I do care about Bluesky unblocking NSFW content but this post I've found on Tumlook makes it clear that I want Tumblr to unban all NSFW content and unblock guest accessibility for tag searches and anon asks. The site's blocking/banning of NSFW material on 2017/2018 is, in my opinion, the root cause of NSFW content blocks. Also, PixelJail was one of the many people that came in the Visa/MasterCard crossfire of July 2025: https://baraag.net/@PixelJail/114954640868259828 They said: >"Show me receipts or call logs of your efforts to #SAVESPEECH and get commissions, discounts or coupons to my [NaughtyNiche/Gumroad] art store. >"Join the cause and bring more NSFW art into the world where it belongs." The latter's what I really want here as I am at my wit's end in regards to all of this. (yeah i mentioned gumroad because they also need to reallow NSFW content lol)

>>46722 >>46726 Concerning pixelrye.itch.io, I found that they make NSFW content on their Twitter and, where it should have been, Tumblr, of all things: https://ynfg.yume.wiki/Rye_Raccoon While the user had made SFW Yume Nikki fangames with animal characters, the profile page for them has been restricted by UK's OSA/Ofcom, like Taylor McCue's HFTGOOM game: https://xcancel.com/TaylorMcCue5/status/1950035089359794635 This meant that the OSA blew up her profile page as well, see attached picture. pixelrye.itch.io's account was incorrectly affected by OSA restrictions because there was a possible game on their profile that was NSFW, yet there's nothing I can make of it. I've checked their Tumblr for more information on whatever date the restrictions were misplaced, but I couldn't find anything there about the OSA, nor their Twitter account. Taylor, on the other hand, said this came into affect on 29 July 2025.

>>46384 MOverERR's reupload of the Dead God replacement sprites (https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3508002325) were affected recently, meaning that almost EVERYTHING to do with LMJ's Beast mod had been affected by content warnings and isn't visible on the workshop/NSFW auth-blocked. I've never been so angry in my life in regards to the UK Online Safety Act, Tumblr, itch.io, Newgrounds, Steam and more that block/censor NSFW/adult content, and I want all of them to be outlawed. These restrictions are not just ruining the internet. I cared about accessibility on certain sites and I still do. This is why I have been on my wit's end and I had constantly objected to censorship too much that it had crippled the way I use the internet (in contrast to other people's), and although we are over 18 years old, this does not mean the internet's accessibility to view some content had been tampered with. This also includes some accounts being restricted to logged-in users only as well as searching on Tumblr and Twitter/X. We all had been facing these problems for far too long, including myself. I had enough of sites impacted by any age-verification laws and login blocks and that's why I want it to be reversed for complete, anonymous browsing.

>>49187 None ATM. - >>48130 There had been instances of pyromaniacblujay/jayluxuosus locking accounts since I put that on my previous thread, beginning on 14 December 2024, and she is still doing this. There's a possible reason for that. https://en.pronouns.page/u/jayluxuosus pyromaniacblujay had uploaded NSFW/adult content on her social media accounts (except Tumblr, a site that caused the whole censorship hell and still has not reverted their ban on NSFW content) and privatised them for a short while. While most of pyromaniacblujay's accounts were accessible to everyone after that, only her BlueSky account is still affected by the !no-unauthenticated flag, and I want her to stop doing that. Example: https://bsky.app/profile/incendiary.bsky.social/post/3lvnws7ggik2m (https://bsky.app/profile/pyromaniacblujay.bsky.social) She made a NSFW account on Twitter and privatised it: https://xcancel.com/pistonpump Setting an online social media account to a login-blocked state is wrong and I won't tolerate it at all, even with NSFW accounts. I am still fuming at pyromaniacblujay for how she still privatised her accounts if I value the art she makes so well, and I've had enough of this garbage. pyromaniacblujay's BlueSky account should never be login-auth blocked, not even her NSFW Twitter account.

This is the same with Steam, BlueSky and Google as I want them to ditch filtering and tagging systems for NSFW content, since I have been at my wits' end at all this, the same with login walls such as Tumblr and Twitter. In regards to NSFW material, I'm not the only one who thinks this is a huge censorship loophole, or isn't because of child protection tools. Other people have been objecting to this problem as well as the Online Safety Act, as all these factors are ruining the internet. Imgur shouldn't have derezzed NSFW content, and as for the ICO investigation, they should have unblocked geo-restrictions for UK users. Blogs I've tested: - www.tumlook.com/ladylaflechesteahouse = 500 - AN ERROR OCCURRED; Please try again later - www.tumlook.com/hitennotrurouni = puts up a batch of posts but doesn't load older ones - www.tumlook.com/liquidjar = 500 - AN ERROR OCCURRED; Please try again later - www.tumlook.com/abyssalgrey = puts up two batches of posts but doesn't load older ones - www.tumlook.com/melodythebunny = 500 - AN ERROR OCCURRED; Please try again later www.tumlook.com/rinstumblertrashbin = keeps showing up a recent post they made on 18.6.2026 that "anon questions [were] disabled" (possibly intentional?) The same thing happens with default and tag-based searches: - www.tumlook.com/tag/dulydownward = 500 - AN ERROR OCCURRED; Please try again later - www.tumlook.com/search/dulydownward = ERROR; No search results found! / Blogs; Something went wrong / Tags; Something went wrong This has been going on as of recent, as what should happen is I expect blogs/searches to run normally. Tumbig (www.tumbig.com) had given me a flat-out message with error 500: This page isn’t working www.tumbig.com is currently unable to handle this request. HTTP ERROR 500 Reloading the page, no matter how, does nothing. This needs to be fixed by their site's owners. >>48129 > "[Tumgik] would show up images but now it never shows them and gives me "403 Forbidden/nginx" errors" They fixed it now, but images from that branch break, meaning that you would need to use Tumblr to scrape the actual images.

>>49322 When I saw www.tumlook.com/rinstumblertrashbin it actually keeps showing up a post they made on 18.6.2026 that "anon questions [were] disabled" first, not any new posts. - When I attempted to put this private YouTube URL (www.youtube.com/watch?v=cXTObwNYvWs) in both TurboScribe and Nevercap.AI they both gave me "video unavailable" messages and I do not know what other online scrapers work with private videos on the site. Anyway, how I scraped the URL in question was just like in post >>47862 but Piped is also suffering from a bug with age-restricted videos: https://github.com/TeamPiped/Piped/issues/4140 Piped should play age-restricted videos as the readme says that there is "No age restriction". I've been trying to get www.tumlook.com/tag/isaacbloomsarchives to work normally, but it's like the previous instance: 500 - AN ERROR OCCURRED; Please try again later . This even happens after a CloudFlare widget refresh. www.tumlook.com/ladylaflechesteahouse now works, the error 500 issue it kept getting was fixed after a while, but the blog having the same issue other working Tumblr blogs have - puts up two batches of posts but doesn't load older ones. This should need a fix, which was why I popped the contact link to Tumlook in my earlier post. I also had been over and over again at Tumblr’s repeated mistake of banning adult content abruptly, which reflects a failure to treat its community. The 2018 adult content ban on the site was caused by the site implementing Safe Mode in 2017-2018. Remeber that in https://github.com/zedeus/nitter/issues/829#issuecomment-1509754511 zedeus said "Twitter blocks certain searches, including the #nsfw hashtag"? Tumlook unblocks it, but Tumgik does not. Examples: - https://www.tumgik.com/tag/sex - https://www.tumgik.com/tag/tumblr%20nsfw - https://www.tumgik.com/tag/adult This is what I mean. I want blogs that share content containing visual depictions of sexually explicit acts to be wholly re-allowed on Tumblr and never terminate them because it is wrong for the site in so many ways: https://help.tumblr.com/knowledge-base/mature-nsfw-content/ This should be https://web.archive.org/web/20170327222334/https://tumblr.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/231885248-Adult-content and needs to stick. Time and time again, I had been improving my list of login/auth blocks issues and how you can help. Other people, such as those that tackle mislabelling material as censorship (https://archive.is/Td5NY) or rejected by an organization responsible for approving all adverts and ensuring they comply with the rules set by the authorities (https://mullvad.net/en/and-then/uk). Most of the links I've found are aimed at NSFW content and the UK's Online Safety Act. Due to a 'too many links flooding' error, this list is split into a few parts, since I had updated the list often. Reddit will require you to log in to use old.reddit.com https://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2026/06/reddit-will-require-you-to-log-in-to-use-old-reddit-com/ Reddit will start requiring people to be logged into Reddit to use old.reddit.com. The new requirement will take effect "over the next month," a Reddit employee going by the username boat-botany announced on the social media platform today. The person claimed that the change is part of an ongoing effort to "tighten how automated systems access Reddit."

>>49367 >>49369 This soykaf is honestly such a fuarrrking bummer. The internet is visibly getting worse and being cut apart by big tech and big government because they're scared that the proles are going to stop believing their bullshit, and it doesn't seem like there's any way for the guy on the street who just wants to browse imageboards in peace to stop it because every political party on both sides of the aisle in every Western country is pushing for this, completely inorganically, and essentially with the same stated end goal of completely removing anominity from the internet so you can be arrested for wrongthink anywhere, like what has been happening in the UK. The Western World is about to have worse freedom of speech than fuarrrking China. Is this what 100-something years of conflict between democracy and totalitarianism has led to? Liberal democracies becoming open-air prisons because the ones in charge can't handle people forming a heterodox opinion?

I mean what the hell are they thinking? Do they want to get dragged out and lynched? In my day young people always found ways to bypass and cheat the system, young people today are not as naive, stupid and sheeplike as most tend to thing If anything the internet will get too unusable and boring for most people so that they will take their sex and drug fueled anger out into the street, not only will it backfire bigtime on bigtech as they will majorly lose "customers" but also the already dwindling reputability of the powers that be will go out the window for good.

Here's a site I found on XCancel: https://reclaimthenet.org/age-verification However, this isn't what I'm aiming for, but also sites that had restricted guest accessibility with login walls, NSFW content and/or full accessibility in specific countries as well. Sites such as Tumblr, Twitter, Newgrounds, Reddit and Imgur have been affected recently by these impacting threats - Tumblr had derezzed NSFW content and blocked anon asks, Twitter prevented guests from searching on their platform until they logged in, Newgrounds had stopped guests from accessing A-rated material even through backdoor access, Reddit is preventing guests from accessing old.reddit.com, and Imgur had blocked UK users over ICO fining them. All of this MUST be reversed completely, as it affected the mainstream internet. Tumblr's Safe Mode affected how they would even handle NSFW content/blogs that share content containing visual depictions of sexually explicit acts of any kind, and outright banning them. This MUST be wholly re-allowed on the site. Same as anon asks and tag searches. Imgur needs to re-allow NSFW content to the site and people in the UK browsing the site. And there's a lot more that must be dealt with.

Remember that I covered a list of content labels in post #45981?I had said anything marked as graphic media (like gore) isn't adult content, therefore it should've had the toggle bar because that's for teen audiences, for the most part. All the labels should've been configured so that they could be toggled off and on, or that the labels themselves are removed, giving guests an opportunity to see affected images and videos, especially with adult content and graphic media. I had been getting sick of members-only videos on YouTube - typically, with YouTube channels such as Alpha Beta Gamer - because the site had gotten worse and worse with the prime reason being ads before actual videos. They should be removed. I had covered a list of guest accessibility blocks and censorship several times and this cannot continue anymore for any person using the internet, including me and other users on this very site. Being the OP of both these threads, I want the internet to go back the open way that people had used in the past, be it autism or not. (Other users here, please refrain from mentioning autism, as it's serious.) I want old.reddit.com to be available to guests forever, because if they start requiring everyone to log in, this change will be abusive - another form of guest accessibility censorship that should never, ever happen this month coming. This is not to do with automated systems that would access the site in any way, as login walls and blocks had been hurting guest accessibility. Tumblr and Twitter thrown login walls to people like me - as guests - and I cannot stand how much time this had turned the internet into some sort of barren wasteland. Nitter and XCancel aren't working because they have been rate limited and/or have been sending out way too many 429 errors within their site searches. For whatever reason, I have been brute-forcing F5 to work on XCancel because rate-limiting broke every Nitter branch, but after doing so too much, the site stops working and fetches the "429 Too Many Requests; openresty" message, and no matter how many times you access search from anywhere on XCancel (and/or mash F5), it still gives me the error. It won't stop displaying the 429 error page in new windows, and also would show up whenever I put filters to a site search. Tumlook is breaking up, like it keeps bringing up 500 errors like they did with Tumbig. That site has been broken, and I do not know if Tumbig's going to be fixed by their own servers, as Tumbig doesn't have an official contact email, phone number, or support team. Every link had given me the same error 500 message and I had grown sick of it. I had grown sick of the internet being so crippled, for example old.reddit.com should've never had a login/auth block set on the site, or users on Tumblr telling people to go to Twitter or Bluesky to view their NSFW content, because of Tumblr’s repeated mistake of banning adult content abruptly, which reflects a failure to treat its community. The 2018 adult content ban on the site was caused by the site implementing Safe Mode in 2017-2018, and never the IOS app and their routine checks on their database. Also, this: https://techcrunch.com/2026/08/25/x-sends-cease-and-desist-to-open-source-project-nitter-over-alleged-scraping/ Everything about this login/auth block stuff is so WRONG on so many levels that the internet is dying fast.

This whole thing affected adult content being allowed on the site for guests to view in the long run. Will add new links in the future.

>>48204 For whatever reason, Google's SafeSearch feature can be toggled between the filter, blur or off options as normal or have the filter option set by the UK's Online Safety Act at random. This happens if the site detects a UK location, like I've showed in the example in post #48204, however this is because of my laptop's poor battery that keeps freezing at 0% charge or keeps breaking... like, I don't know... I have no words to explain and I feel a sense of dread within me. Not exactly auth block, don't know where else to post. It's nearly impossible to archive stackoverflow and a bunch of other sites now
