What's happened to Moot from 4chan? He's disappeared from this reality, like erased from reality and everyone has forgotten about his existence. Like he's dead. I wish to know.
Ivan Horvat · 2024-12-09 01:52
Unsurprisingly, even a morsel of knowledge about him anywhere would cause a ton of attention so he probably just wants to be left alone, and has the money to do it.
Fred Nurk · 2024-12-09 04:37
If I was Moot I wouldn't want to have any more connection with what image boards have become, either. He did the smart thing and got the hell out when they all turned to soykaf.
Case · 2024-12-10 10:32
Never really sure but word through the grape vine is that he glows now. Possibly was forced into it? Kirt probably knows, as he most definitely glows.

Miho Iwakura · 2024-12-21 09:54
He's married, has a daughter, and works a regular job. Once some anons found his instagram account, and since then he seems to have taken steps to avoid being tracked down online. He's an intensely private person. All that stuff about him working for the feds is BS. If he were are fed you'd see him everywhere. He's just an average joe now. Probably wants nothing to do with 4turds and the cancer that is chan "culture".

>>43502 Hi Moot >>43630 >10 years ago? Yes - chans hadn't been flooded by political slop and were pretty chill, but 2014 was basically the last year that this was true. They've been downhill since '07 but 2014 was really the end. Prior to ~2012 they still felt like cozy, old internet hangouts where you could have a good conversation. That said, 4chong in particular was already pretty insufferable at this point, but nowhere near the current drip-feed of slop that it's become.

>>43631 Are you sure this you are not being biased? I mean not purposefully, but like that phenomenon that makes you forget bad events that happened long time ago in favor of remembering only the good events?

>>43362 That's not a secret. Remember when /b/ was good, before the age of the repost and long before the cancer? There was always a CP thread active somewhere. Well, it's not there anymore even now that /b/ is pron general. Guess why? Cause the party van did its job, that's why. And do you want to take a guess at how the party van got the addresses of the people who posted the CP? It is said that the feds arrested him, presented the large case of distribution of CP that was made to send his sorry ass behind bars for life and told him that if he helped fight child sexual slavery (hard to say no) he could not legally be found guilty. As I said, hard to say no. The guy just wanted an English 2ch. The feds have a parallel halfchan server now. It was long before it became political but I guess it became a gold mine for the trigrams. >>43633 Not him. It's not imageboards that have changed, but Internet, society and the people. I can not explain to you how everything was different in the early 2000. And the pre 9/11 world was even more relax. Imagine if the most important thing that happen in a decade was the president having a blowjob. Yes, it used to be different. Normal people were different, society was different the internet was different and low IQ didn't had dumbphones yet to annoy us. And the chans were the new IRC. And I am not forgetting how it was. We pushed teenagers to suicide and called the cops on people who beat cats. For the lulz. We used to laugh and masturbate to massacres and that place was made to remove any form of morality from you. We also exposed the scientology to the public and started the nosec/deadsec movement. We discovered in 2007 that the DOD had passed a contract to create personas on Twitters, fake accounts made to look like people so they could make a lot of identities spread a message online. Somehow, the epic fail guy mask is now associated with hacking, I like it. If you have a time machine, I would advise that you do not go in there. That was the best time of my life ant the only place I ever called home. God, I miss it. The bad events in particular is what I miss.

He's the creator of one of the most controversial places on the internet in the XXI century. Do you actually expect that he would be willing to share info about his personal life after merely 9 years?

eh. seems like the guy just wants some privacy, not surprising the guy who made a site for anonymous posting cares about his anonymity he worked at google for a while but later quite. he had a blog[https://chrishateswriting.com/] but it is now down and it is excluded from the wayback machine. if this is intentional on his part he really went the extra mile to delete him self off the internet especially with how 4chan is now he also probably wants to keep away from it. >>43636 >>the epic fail guy mask epic rap battles of history detected. respect mate >>43500 ay. sounds like a perfect life to me ngl

>>43633 It was good enough to keep glitterboys like >>43636 around for over a decade after it's golden age. It's heavily mythologized; take everything with a grain of salt. For a specific weird outcast teenager that place was special, much like TOTSE, SA, and various BBSes before it. The Culture has moved on, the time has past, and the spot has been blown up. It's unlikely we'll see anything like that on the internet again, and if we did you or I wouldn't appreciate it for what it was. Much like other new subcultures.

>>43636 >There was always a CP thread active somewhere moot explicitly derezzed CP its in the news logs for the site years before the alphabet boys became interested. https://www.4chan.org/4channews.php?all#oldnews . it was an issue that they tried a couple different strategies to address, including making a containment board for /l/ content to be derezzed from every other board which was then deleted. arguably speaking 4chan now is more comforting to pedophiles considering they don't "censor" drawings of kids like that anymore. >halfchan ohh you're one of those. what do you think was the most interesting feature of copeland OS? what's your favorite episode of lain and why >Yes, it used to be different you are a stormfront pederast pretending to be an oldf♥g. please leave. you should not be here, it is not for you ♥

Why the hate for pederests? They are a long time part of chan culture. The original Lainchan had some pedos on it.
Turner · 2025-01-06 20:56
>>43736 Pedo/pederast hate is also a long time part of chan culture. As long as I've been here which is a while pedo haters have been here. Pedos burn in hell btw.

>>43664 I read the blog back when it was active, though active may be the wrong word for it since he rarely posted to it. I remember some article about how he wanted to be on his computer less and spend more time outdoors. I think he may have also posted a retrospective about his failed canvas project, but I might be confusing that with just reading it in a moot thread or maybe he posted about it somewhere else. It's been a long time. The outdoors blogpost was good foreshadowing of his leave. He went from saying he spent most of his time posting anonymously and felt just as lost, if not more so, as everyone else did when 4chan went down, to lamenting how much time he spent online. Which I think most long-term chan users can relate to. In his goodbye stream and some of his latter moot threads (which got much sparser during the final time of his tenure) he seemed pretty disillusioned with chan culture, too. He said something about going from "4chan is a place where smart people pretend to be stupid" to realizing that a lot of people actually did believe the insane conspiracies and antisocial soykaf posted

>>43736 >the original lainchan had some pedos on it not by choice we didn't. you creeps slither into any community you can. the particular clique of pedophiles from 2015 lainchan i recall banning was ultimately derezzed from freenode due to their degeneracy, tried to pay kalyx to make a "sex education" page on the site, instead getting humiliated and banhammered, a full legal dox saved on several peoples hard drives and redacted. the only time when they had a chance at coming back was during the transition between Kalyx and Appleman, receiving another ban for their attempts to sneak in again a change in site policy explicitly banning what they were trying to do and a factor in the creation of lainchan.jp (where pedos were dealt with even more explicitly). its honestly funny how you feel at home among nazis on top of that. I'm not saying all of them will or the pedo question would be answered very quickly. but if there's anybody who will murder you in cold blood for your degeneracy then its one of them. i hope one does.
