How do you meet cute nerd/alt girls irl?
I live in a large US city. I'm mid 20s and I have pretty much been just trying to cold approach because I'm not originally from this city and I don't have a dedicated social circle, let alone one with women. I have been very good with first impressions but I consistently run into a recurring problem. After the girls realize I am actually not a mysterious vampire but literally just a nerd they get weirded out... Or at least I think that's what happened. I went on a study-date with a girl I had met by cold approach a few days earlier, she looked excited to see me. But I didn't know what to talk about so I just started talking about how I'm learning hacking and I started showing her the cyber security board here in Lainchan and I could literally hear her voice change from an excited girl to a babysitter who just found out the kid she's looking after is retarded :/
How do I go about meeting cute Internet subculture type altgirls irl or who live near me?
Where would they hang out? And if I were to create a discord server for my city or something how would I go about that to attract like minded people but not a complete sausage fest? I do not want to use dating apps because I know people just use them for hooking up and I want a real relationship.

those kinds of women hardly exist, pretend that they dont exist because statistically speaking they do not and most of them probably wont be "cute" they will look more like meredith patterson or joanna rutkowska. you seem to be doing fine with actual women as long as you mute your autism. try going to raves or something you might meet someone there.

You must be doing this right if you're getting dates, but generally when people say this they mean just immediately walking up to someone without even making eye contact first and asking them out. Terrible idea that never works. Only worth doing that if you genuinely get butterflies looking at someone, not just fooling yourself into it because you're lonely.

I saw a cute girl on the metro wearing a Latin shirt about two years ago so I know they exist IRL.
Attractive Weeby alt girls are real, they're just less common, but I'm also a less common type of person myself. All I need is to meet the right person once. All I want to know is what to do to higher my statistics. To waste less time, calculate the right places to be, during the right time, or if I need to be more active and create my own social circle through whatever means I have, but how to use that to attract the right types of people.

>You must be doing this right if you're getting dates
Well the way I do it is very casual and actually works really well in the city I think. It's almost always in a coffee shop setting or something similar where there's a lot of people, if I see a pretty girl, I sit near her, open up my laptop and start setting up to do some homework. Next I need a casual and legit reason to talk to her, maybe I'm going to step away for a moment and buy a coffee so I nicely ask "hey would you mind just keeping an eye on my stuff for me for one second? Thanks you're the best" and then I come back with my coffee, say thanks and maybe ask a little question afterwards like what she's studying or working on, she'll answer as most normal people would but if she's interested or curious she will follow up with her own small casual question, then from there it's like a game of tennis, just have to follow every question with a good answer, include a little bit of personality, maybe a joke, and then follow up with your own question, gently showing a little more of your personality or sense of humor as you move along, sometimes we'll find something we disagree on, perhaps something religion or politics related and the conversation will awkwardly fizzle out but that's nothing to be ashamed of, maybe disappointing if she's really cute but things wouldn't work out with her anyway. But most of the time I walk away with a phone number, and I'd say 75% I get ghosted before the first date, the other 25% depends on how a date goes.
To also make something clear I have only had one IRL 'relationship' gf and we only dated a month and that was over a year ago, everything else have just been early stage casual dates that didn't move past that point. And one fully online ldr five years ago

Nerdy spaces tend to be male dominated, even if there are girls there they'll be swarmed. Try taking an art class or something, pottery, glass working, watercolor, etc. Dress nice, be friendly but forward, and get a decent haircut. Autism is cute in small doses, just don't overwhelm them. gl lainon

Go to a park where a lot of cute alt girls hang out and jog. Somewhere along the path dig a deep hole and cover it up with branches and twigs. make friends with people
Pulse · 2024-11-15 07:39
The way people meet people is by engaging in activites that involve other people. The activity can be some you enjoy, like a hobby, or it can be something you have to do, like school or work. When the only activity you do is sitting alone in front of a screen most of your life, you are not going to meet any people.
Also, if you only go where people are with the specific intent of finding a friend or lover, your chances of success are very limited. Much more likely to work if you go where people are to do some activity that you like, or at least have to do, and let the relationships happen or not happen in a natural, unforced way. Once people figure out that you're sort of out stalking for relationships, they're likely to get creeped out.
If you actually don't like doing anything fun around people, or at least have to be around them for a reason, then maybe it's better to just accept that you're not suited for friendships or relationships. There are vast numbers of incels all around the world, and it's nothing to be ashamed of.

Acid Burn · 2024-11-16 09:19
Go to shows, cons, a fuarrrking pokemon go gathering or something. But you have to know how to talk to people and be mildly interesting and funny. I find that most alt girls are pretty cool to talk to, I met one off bumble and she was cool as hell. I was just a fuarrrkboy though, but I genuinely enjoyed her company and her spontaneity made me feel fun again though I was in the midst of my divorce.
It also helps if you are artistic in some way. I'm an artist/tattoo apprentice so a lot of people naturally gravitate towards me anyway.
And hey sometimes you'll strike out, but that's part of the game. You know how many girls weren't interested in seeing me after the first date? I think it was because I mostly give off a casual vibe and I think most women think I'm just fuarrrking with them or something. But nah, I'm not really interested in the results. If they get on board, cool, but if not, no hurt feelings(unless you're a complete bitch about it).

≫real relationship
i am not advocating this, and not to burst anyone's bubble but, seriously grappling with the fact that sex workers exist, that fake/implanted disneymovie 'need' for loving romance kind of evaporates... the 'real ones' are all dumb bitches, you're going to spend 6,000 years TRYING to convince an absolute braindead moron the basics of whatever your deep interest is, and she might play along for a while, but they literally cannot follow logic →this is the first step→then this→this follows that, while shaming and controlling you for not being 'as in touch w/ ur emotions' when you obviously want sex

Sounds like you're putting forward a misleading first impression. I won't criticize you for the cold approach, it's good that you're confident enough to do it, but try being more true to your actual personality. Don't go straight into talking about your studies or hobbies at length, keep it brief unless she asks for more info. The woman you're talking to hasn't already set aside time to talk to you so it's best to assume she'll only have a few minutes even if she doesn't look busy. If the convo is mutually enjoyable you can say something like "I don't want to take any more of your time, but can we exchange numbers and talk later?"

why would you sperg and show her this website and talk about hacking on the first date. you should ask her about herself and gauge things from that, slowly over time showing your power level. you can't just right off the bat show someone imageboards, you need to gatekeep a little more and only show these places to people like you that you can trust. we don't need normal people flooding in cause the spergy aspiring hacker they met said they should check it out.
i wouldn't start getting deep into my hobbies and interests on the first date, especially one like computer addiction. talk about music, movies, books, broader topics of interest, notable stories related to them, but most importantly ask questions and build off the answrrs you're given, so if a girl says she is learning how to program or something that's when i'd start spilling soykaf about computers, but until then i'd avoid being forthcoming about being a nerd right off the jump. even most girls that present themselves as the nerdy type tend to not find computer nerds attractive, it's seen as juvinile. hacking also has bad connotations that would come across to some people as delinquent. you should be more machivellian in your approach, don't give too much away, even when asked, don't show all of your cards. it's okay to divulge some aspects of your nerdiness at key moments but first date showing a girl an imageboard and talking about hacking is autistic as fuarrrk.

not helping you with your game OP sorry. actually here. you should have female friends / a friend group with girls in it, not just because seeing women as solely romantic targets and ~nerdy GF~ as an object to acquire as girlfriend. if you see her this way then she will realize very quickly and treat you the same, aka with all the shallowness you've been experiencing. because that's what you're being. Shallow. there's also high chance you're being inconsiderate in some way that can't really be communicated via post, which is something an IRL friend can help you with better than the people here. just don't whine like a sad dog if you can't find a date - you're not entitled to a girlfriend and most women will see it as entitlement, especially when you consider that lots more women, especially in college are accepting of or choose to be single for the time being and don't consider having a relationship as important as men do.
>After the girls realize I am actually not a mysterious vampire but literally just a nerd they get weirded out...
no offense but i actually have no idea how thats happening to you: mysterious vampires and weird nerds are the same thing to me. but i guess ive been in alternative communities for a while so i recognize the territory. ig the advice is thats what will happen when you adopt a persona to get attention, is that people will love the persona and you will be forced to LARP that for their affection until you can't take it anymore. the full picture has to become clear some way or another, im not saying you shouldn't act like a sexy vampire but maybe you should consider Vlad Dracula Tepes, from the Castlevania animation. he has a deep and respectable interest in the natural sciences, he is also a hot vampire. so, i think you should be able to make it work.
>I started showing her the cyber security board here in Lainchan and I could literally hear her voice change from an excited girl to a babysitter who just found out the kid she's looking after is retarded :/
if i was ostensibly studying with somebody and he pulled up a social media website like facebook or instagram to excitedly show me as his study material i might also think he was retarded. i mean come on if you're supposedly learning about cybersecurity you might want to consider what will impress somebody. posts on what looks like 4chan, or actually hacking something? you can tell her about lainchan but that seems like a later conversation. although, if you can hear someone's tone shift like that, you should be just as capable of handling the tone shift in conversation either explicitly by saying "it sounds like" followed by a charitable assessment or implicitly by changing your own tone as well. i suppose there is also a chance she was disappointed you were actually studying.

OP did state not having many friends so why vilify them over wanting a girlfriend that can get them in their interests. How is that seeing someone as an object? How is that shallow? Maybe a little shallow since there are other ways to relate to people than interests but there is nothing wrong with wanting shared interests. Friends are nice but for many they do not satisfy the same kind of loneliness. I mean not that I am entirely disagreeing as I myself prefer forming relationships organically out of friendship and I am closest with females over males since they on average think more like me especially if they are into girls too but I think you're assuming way too much about OP as if projecting someone else onto him (or maybe her, not assuming).
> just don't whine like a sad dog if you can't find a date - you're not entitled to a girlfriend and most women will see it as entitlement, especially when you consider that lots more women, especially in college are accepting of or choose to be single for the time being and don't consider having a relationship as important as men do.
Being sad or a little frustrated at circumstances is an entitlement? OP has every right to feel lonely and discouraged. If he were mad at women rejecting him especially if those who clearly didnt really showing interest much to begin with THAT would be entitled but not being lonely. Of course they do, it's a privilege for women to know they can just take their pick from options on their own time while men are expected to be the primary pursuers on a scramble for the same girl multiple other guys could be perusing at the same time. Which is a soykaf way things are for everyone depending on what they like but I hate it. Not like I don't get it, the annoyance of a bunch of fuarrrkbois, I hate hookup culture and all that but not everyone is like that.

I don't know if it fits shallowness/objectification, but there is something about only seeking things in conjunction. Maybe that it seems so ephemeral? Like if it is a passing whim in the same way you might say, "I don't want to read any books that don't have this trope, that aren't in this genre" after you read a book you really like or get hooked on a theme. Kinda a surface-level association like in fetish, phobias or hypnotism. "This and this give me the same feeling."
I'm don't know if this is really a bad thing, but it is sort of a surface-level concern.
But obviously you can want an smart/eccentric girl for the same reason you might want an athletic girl- because that is an avenue for rich shared experiences, and that's not what I was just talking about. Or is it? I could talk myself in loops about this so I'll just stop here.

I think imageboards have a special stigma attatched to them even amongst terminally online girls too. I was having a fairly long conversation with a friend about Daniel Larson and Chris Chan and all the associated horrors but the minute I mentioned using an imageboard the tone shifted. Never mind she was the one to bring up two internet famous autistic sex offenders first. You are the reason why I never spoke to women and hated myself. Your archetype is the absolute worst brother. You are spreading misery. Improve yourself and socialize. Work out. Groom yourself. All you have to be is courageous. Get out there and do it.
Have a problem? Instead of worshipping "science," how about you figure out - by the scientific method - how to fix yourself.
I still massively regret going to a strip club as a KHHV just because people that held your beliefs stabbed me over and over again proverbially.
I hope you change and know that you're wrong. If not, I hope that you stop spreading this. I'm literally known as the guy that gets women in my social circle now. Just fix the problems that you KNOW are the issue. You know what those are. Go and use a search engine to figure them out.

I'm glad you got out of that mindset man, I've been there. I got out of it too and it's insane to realize how successful you can be by doing simple things like getting a nice haircut. I'm sad for that toxic lainon but I'm glad lainons are opening their eyes and dunking on this kind of behavior. Hopefully it will help opening this guy's eyes too.

>How do you meet cute nerd/alt girls irl?
I've met a few through university. They're cute, but I never end up dating or having sex with them. I want a girl who wants children. As cute as a girl who loves to talk about anime or computer stuff might be, they are not usually interested in having kids or starting a family. I also don't necessarily trust them. If I can anticipate building a life together with someone, then I am more likely to take them seriously and commit myself. When it comes to these types of girls, I feel like they exploit my own eccentricity and would use it against me whenever they inevitably move on or lose interest. I'd become some story for them to talk about how weird of a guy I was.
>>44134
I think the way you present it is also important. If you are reasonably charismatic about it and have a degree of aloofness, it isn't nearly as off-putting as earnestly showing them that side of you.

Brother, how can you have that all worked out but then sperg out the minute you go on an actual date? The answer is quite clear: obfuscate your power level until you know one another better. I intentionally did not say "hide," rather slightly downplay it-- say you're into computers but also follow it up with some normal person activities. Then once you have been dating for a while, the girl will learn more about you and either accept that you're more into your nerd hobbies than she previously thought or she won't (which is fine too because that means she wasn't meant for you).
>but it's important to be honest in a relationship!
Yeah, that's why I said downplay your nerd soykaf. Everyone does it because that's the socially acceptable thing to do.

I am a woman myself, not a tranny. Although appearance also plays a significant role in it, the most important advice of all is be yourself and people who like you will stay with you. No matter how attractive a man was, if he treated me badly, I did not want to associate with him. Similarly, I have loved people who were deemed ugly because their hearts were worn on their sleeves. And to me, they looked more beautiful than the starry sky. Remembering that aside from different genitals, women are different people with different likes and dislikes is also crucial. And you must understand we have evolved to recognize patterns and categorize and generalize, things that were important to our ancestors in order to avoid danger, yet we should use our logic to know when they're helpful and when we have to combat those animalistic urges. In the case of finding a mate, seeing the female gender as a mystery or an other that has to be obtained does more harm than good. And if you say any soykaf such as the following >>43277 >>44303 >>44994 cut it out. Who likes being insulted? The reason a lot of people dislike imageboards is because they only know of 4chan and it has a certain reputation.

I was a musician and music was pretty much my life, finding people who understood this usually went the same way you are describing, people would infantilize me, and talk down in a patronizing way I found it really strange.
It's funny because musicians can be quite popular too
Ein · 2025-04-20 12:04
Anyway, how do you even make friends in the first place?
I heard you pretty much have to attend post secondary to make friends and meet people and that afterwards you'll always have to rely on those networks to meet new people. I never actually went to post secondary, but this seems almost true, it's been extremely hard to meet people and make friends normally. When I lived in a big house with a bunch of people going to college (it was an exceedingly expensive city) I marveled at their ease and affluence in making and forming new friends and connections.
I used to go to music shows a lot, but I found a lot of people that went to them to be cold indifferent and aloof, seemingly not interested in meeting new people, but that was this one city I lived in, after that I moved to a more bigger and metropolitan city but I could never afford to go to any music venues but the few times I did it was the same thing people were really cold. There's like no bars in the country I live in either, literally there are no bars. I visited America recently though and I caught a music show in Seattle and people were talking to each other a little bit, but it was this music feast and hardly anyone showed up to it. So generally I don't know at all how you're even supposed to make friends and meet people.
Meeting women seems a bit easier because you can always cold approach, but I know lack of friends is just another thing you're supposed to have.

Honestly want I found though is that most people don't bond over/care about your hobbies that much.
I really struggled with knowing how to talk with people for years because mainly I grew up around people who just drank or did drugs and they'd talk about getting wasted and/or doing crazy things. Like my mother just obsessed over cleaning, and she'd complain about her awful marriage and how often she'd fight with her spouse and things like that. Thinking back now it seems obvious to me the most logical conclusion you'd make about talking to people is that you talk about your hobbies, that's what I thought.
I never really cared about the 9-5, climbing the corporate ladder but I dunno, that's practically all most people would talk about through my experiences and maybe school. I don't know what these average people talk about outside of work, but I think you have to talk about your job and work first and really passionately, not too passionately but as passionately as the average person allows feeling and make a case of that, that you're really committed to slaving away, and then maybe you can talk about other topics, but generally I think these people probably are shallow mindless conformists who only talk about things that are the most popular in terms of how many other people are interested in the same thing, and I want to say probably sports or something.
Basically, my point is that if you're trying to meet people there's a chance you'll go through a huge amount of rejection and it will be a really big trial and error effort, if you're trying to find people who are outside the norm at all. The average person is basically as above stated in my experience.
But I don't know, it's hard for me not to turn to the MBTI, I think most people are sensors. I think a lot of people bond over what they "do" and even if this person is some kind of criminal they'll still grill you over what you do and even if you have a sane logical response it probably won't suffice to adequately give a sufficient answer, to be properly "doing" in the right way is like this nonsensical bizarre strange ritual that doesn't make any sense. So there's that too that I've noticed.

I find it so much easier to talk to someone if we have a shared hobby/interest. I have several hobbies and can talk passibly about any one of them for hours on end, but talk to me about something else and meh idk it depends but its just a lot harder

Sorry, I forgot, have you tried meetup.com ?
You mention cyberscurity, there's lots of normal jobs involving cybersecurity so you shouldn't really have a problem just mention you want to study it so you can do it for a living.
Sorry, I didn't notice you said "cute alt girls"
Damn I mentioned the MBTI, what I noticed is that a lot of people talk about external events, which is kind of Te-laden. I believe this is because our society is kind of ESTJ focused and also extroverts tend to prefer external events and situations partially because it's more "real" immediate and "prove able" less introspective in general, so like external events that are taking place in the city and the world, events taking place in the news.
A lot of people also talk about what they did on the weekend, I find this really common too.
Mentioning your a hacker and showing lainchan right away would probably give off the wrong impression if it was done right away.
Being an outcast as a woman seems to be synonymous with being either fat or unkempt it seems like doe. Like I imagine the women who would go "oh that's cool" to lainchan and hacking I imagine are fat but that's not always the case. I knew this fillipino woman who was obsessed with me. She wanted to go out with me and pretty much tried to force it. I browsed and wrote on personalitycafe in front of her and she didn't think it was strange. Also I could practice the guitar for hours in front of her and she'd sit near me while I did it. But the only problem was she had a kid, and also she was kind of lazy, but she was not unkempt or fat. But she was Asian, I know Asians seem to like certain types of men that western white women don't seem to favor as much.

I'm pretty much aligned with what this person said in the first section.
Having casual friendships and acquaintanceships with women that you aren't just you trying to date or fuarrrk will help with the objectifying and dehumanizing idea that introducing a girl in your life will cure you of your loneliness.
This "why isn't what im doing working!" feeling you have is probably from you totally missing the mark on a social cue or on something totally cringe that you are doing without realizing. Just learn from it and adjust to it. It's not the end of the world. "Rejection-therapy" and all that will make you a better person like that anyways, just don't make it turn you into an entitled incel-type person where you are only ever nice to women in a transactional kind of way and break your own heart all the time because you expected something in return.

but yes you've got to find a hobby that can be done socially and is mix-gender. doesn't sound like any of your hobbies are going to do the tick to be honest. Got to find something else.
I sing and play music, especially choral music. I was pretty good at one point, sang in some semi-professional choirs. This is a really good environment for finding a partner (most everyone is intelligent, good-natured, share common emotional qualities). Every relationship I've been in is someone I found via playing music - meeting a girl any other way is a completely foreign concept to me. Also few people will know the joy of having a relationship where you can sing love songs to each other. If you haven't had the experience of cradling someone you love while singing her a haunting love song (or vice versa, had someone do that for you) you haven't lived
But anyways not saying you should join a choir, just saying:
>Develop a skill that's useful in a social environment (one with both men and women)
>Use that to get a social circle
>THEN think about finding a girl
Your fundamental issue is lack of social development, the thing with girls is just a symptom.
Also this >>43079 is excellent advice. American culture really is like kicking dead whales down the beach, it's hard to understand how much it is like kicking dead whales down the beach until you've lived somewhere better.

You know exactly what I mean and I hope you're just being intentionally obtuse or something. I am describing limerence/infatuation/etc here. Which already seems pretty apparent with this "I want a hot big titty alt girl that knows internet subculture and lives near me"-sort of talk that the OP is having which already seems very immature and objectifying.

>cold approach
This is how you practice talking to people, not how you actually meet people reliably. 99% of life is setup.
>new city
You already know who you're looking for (nerd/alt girls) so make an account on every social media site going (use a different device and a burner email if you're worried about datamining) and search for your city. Now join every nerd/alt group, contribute regularly and attend meetups.
Take walks through all the streets around your new home and look for posters, stickers, qr codes, etc. Scan or take pictures of the ones that interest you, then cross off the streets from a map so you remember where you've been. Repeat until you've covered at least a mile radius.
Once you have a few friends it will be easier to get into the nightlife as you don't have to go alone. Also each new friend will potentially introduce you to other people they know, so this is a non-linear progression. The hardest part is forming a new social circle - each subsequent iteration is easier.
>I just started talking about how I'm learning hacking
"Learning hacking" makes you sound like a retarded scriptkiddy. "I have an interest in cybersecurity" sounds like an ambitious career move. Females on average prefer the latter, but if you want to filter hard for really cyberpunk girls then maybe stick with the former so that you turn off the normals.
>showing her the cyber security board here in Lainchan

I feel like a lot of it is demeanour and attitude, both in the overt (If you care you'll put effort into being clean and neat and not leave the house in a sailor moon t-shirt) and in the subtle (people will like you more if you treat them with respect. Note, this doesn't mean "kiss their ass," it's more like talking with people as though they deserve dignity, like you're not going around thinking you're so much better than them." OR: If you look like soykaf on the outside it's probably reflecting that you're soykaf on the inside.
I'd also put more weight on physical fitness. Not being fat makes a HUGE difference.
But yeah generally focus on what you can change - attitude, diet, physical fitness, taking care of your hair and skin, ect.

Nerdy girls in male dominated spaces tend to either be already taken, or are very much on guard. Most guys that approach them are pretty creepy and obviously want to sleep with them.
If you ask me, the best way to find a partner is by not searching for a partner and working on yourself. Build up your value and hone your life skills. Learn how to cook, keep a tidy house, and be independent. Losing some weight and hitting the gym are also good ideas. I see crusty ass dudes with hot ladies all the time. If they can do it, anyone can.
I met my wife through work and courted her through gentle teasing and pure autism. Our son was born a few months ago. It's possible anon, it just takes some time and perseverance.
