Lain Nendroid

William Holtzer · 2024-08-02 16:06
we won lainbros she will be about 40€(USER WAS WARNED FOR THIS POST, You should always elaborate on your opinions rather than just spilling the soykaf. This needs to be a better thread, what did you win ? 40 euro is ridiculous ? Why can't you 3d print nendroids etc ? )
Roy Batty · 2024-08-02 16:13
>we won lainbros but at what cost
Dozer · 2024-08-02 16:59
oh sick so is lain going mainstream and becoming a mutilated representation of the series
The Fin · 2024-08-02 18:42
Is it truly a victory to lose everything you once stood for?
Mitnick · 2024-08-06 12:14
>>42021 >but at what cost Forty Euros, apparently
wizard worm · 2024-08-06 13:40
>>42022 Lain has always been mainstream. Stop acting so edgy
lambda · 2024-08-07 15:02
>>42039 when has it ever been mainstream? most people have lives outside of obscure 90's anime
Dujour · 2024-08-07 16:05
It's a case of, "if it's released, how much would this collectable Nendroid cost?" and comparing its price to Funko POP! or designer toys (like Kidrobot's Dunny series). Obscure anime is like a hidden gem, and blending this with collectable 3D art is truly something a company should be proud of, as they put their effort in sculpting it, as much as I make FIMO clay models piece by piece, oven bake them and repeat the process until it's finally a complete product, like this image here I used for a reference. I love how the artistry on figures pay lots of attention to detail. Prices vary depending on where you are/the seller is based, and overseas costs are expensive if you browse for items on sites like Ebay. Has anybody used Ebay to browse for Nendroids, and if so, did anybody buy one from international sellers?

>>42020 I am from south america, can't afford 40 euro. What should i do?
Zhora · 2024-08-08 05:15
>>42057 no clue what op's nendroid thing is but obviously 3d print&paint if you poor and want one. Material cost is like ~$5 if you do all the work yourself. You probably not a figure painter so find a friend into warhammer/similar. They can paint it easily. >>42054 some semi-popular celebs mentioned watching it so normal people know it exists

Hey, less soulless than a funko pop! I know some of you are collecting these. Stop and reconsider your life choices.
The Plague · 2024-08-08 13:02
>>42062 >I know some of you are collecting these. and those people are on the secret government red list for processing on "cleanup day."
Yuki Nagato · 2024-08-08 15:48
>>42058 Thank you brother i might do this if i find one in the city. The painting is the hard part. I know there is at least one commercial 3d printer place here but painting is hard
Yet Another Lainon · 2024-08-09 09:49
>>42072 Thats why i was saying ask in your friend circle around if anyone is into warhammer or similar -painting will be easy for them. If you got nobody you could find a tabletop shop in your city go there and find someone who loves painting. We got painting competitions sometimes in our shop which would be an ideal opportunity to find a willing painter.

>>42081 That's a relaxing thing to do, since I've enjoyed painting things at home. 3D-printing and painting is a real process, but I make clay models and sometimes paint them to give hints of life. You should try this one day.
Splicer · 2024-08-12 19:16
>>42119 Do you use same clay used for pottery or those sort of colorful resin like clays for sculpting?
Unknown · 2024-08-16 12:59
>>42120 I use Fimo clay, had anybody here used it before?
Unsigned · 2024-08-16 14:46
>>42171 have used it, pretty handy and easy to work with, although baking a model like OP's picture (very top heavy, small support, waist at neck where head will bend over) looks like a real pain. Not impossible Im sure but tough
Crazy Jake · 2024-08-17 02:37
>>42172 just invert and place model on head if its topheavy that aside people seem to use iron wiring wrapped in clay to prevent arms etc. falling off.

I'm going to get official Lain merchandise, like JJ's albums that I share on Soulseek, even if it's a little against my principles. But is there anything I can do to make sure that you can 3D print her nendoroid, like by taking HD images from different angles so that another lainon can create a 3D model of her? If this thread continues until the release of the nendoroid, we could do that.
Emmanuel · 2024-10-09 19:18
>>42805 I really wanted it too when I saw it, but then I waited a week and realised I didnt want it that much especially at the cost of committing consoomerism. 3d printing is the way to go.
