Does anyone here still visit blogs or have their own blogs? If so, share them at this thread. Here is mine:

Fine, I haven't posted here in a while anyway. I dislike the word blog, but here's my personal website:
http://verisimilitudes.net
I also got Appleman1234 to make Gopher links clickable:
gopher://verisimilitudes.net
>https://vetusomaru.blog.fc2.com/
This is nice. I like the pastel colors and handsewn aesthetic. My website is very bare. I see this website's only a few months old. Keep it up.

Thanks. I like them too. Although the interface layout isn't mine and it's from the ones you can choose from at fc2.
By the way the gopher://verisimilitudes.net link doesn't work.

In the past I used to have some blogs at tumblr. But with the tumblr exodus I deleted them all, including the only one I wanted to keep but deleted accidentally and it had to do with anime based on video games. Then last year I decided to start a new blog in a blog hosting site since I've fed up with imageboards, discord, forums, social media etc. But I left said blog hosting site since one of the admins wouldn't stop using the site to push his leftist agendas. So I moved it to fc2. And this time I only want to have articles about topics that others haven't talked about it.

Not blogs related but I prefer it when certain people have their own websites for anime and video games instead of posting at forums, Wikis, reddit, discord etc

Gopher is a different Internet protocol, and requires a client that can use it. The Lynx browser has support for it, and can properly use that link, as an example.

That's also how I prefer things. I want not to bloviate, so it's important I have some novel idea or viewpoint. Otherwise, there's little point in writing.

I have debated it before. On one hand id like to be better at being creative and able to post my thoughts without dealing with constant soykaf tier arguments against them but I also dont feel motivated enough knowing I will be shouting into the void and there is no way to keep the site up after I am dead that I am aware of.
I did come across a blog from someone who seems to do a good job researching religion and how they relate. Not best at source citing though.

Do you mean a site for each anime or game or just individuals blogging about them in general?
Hong, Guil Dong · 2024-07-09 21:26
yea blogs are cool, i like reading what other insane human beings are up to
i used to have a blog section on my site, but i eventually realized that oversharing my deranged thoughts with strangers on the internet isnt the best use of my time

I tried both on tumblr and cohost to start something but I always end up having nothing to talk about in it and just reblog posts. Actually, I rather infodump my obsessions to friends than posting it on my blog. I also want to share some doodles I like enough to post online, but I "haven't found the place yet to do it" even if I did multiple times. Maybe if I try self-hosting or some place like neocities I'll get over it.
I really enjoy your blog, OP. :)

Likewise. Especially since I often get ignored when I post about stuff I like or find interesting at forums, social media, blogs, groups etc.
On the contrary people only pay attention to you immediately when you say something "controversial", something that triggers them, when you talk about politics and dramas etc. I've noticed that a lot at the last forums I posted at before giving up forums for good (except ones for pirated stuff). You make a new thread about a new cool game you discovered? Nobody replies at you or maybe you'll get 1-2 replies at best. You make a thread about how awful is a big games company? You get bombardised by lots of angry replies from butthurt fanboys.
You can get your conclusion from that.

What kind of doodles?

This isnt my experience with forums/blogs at all. My friends arent really in the same hobbies as I am so while they might try to listen, they probably wont understand the significance of anything im talking about unless im like youtube-essayist-like thorough. My linux/hardware soykaf on my blog does numbers though, but I guess I haven't tried posting about any other niche.
