Climate change is gonna kill me. It's still may and I've been unable to leave my building on weekends from heat waves. Why shouldn't I give up and become a hikikomori at this point lol(USER WAS WARNED FOR THIS POST, You should always elaborate on your opinions rather than just spilling the soykaf.)
Hong, Guil Dong · 2024-05-25 10:23
Getting heatwaves in may? That's rough man. If you can afford to, move to the countryside. The heatwaves are a lot milder than in cities, and it actually cools-down at night.

>someone died, its cuz covid
>it was hot / cold / smth i dont like 2day, itz cuz climate change
liberals are stupid too, not just conservatives.

The situation in Mediterranean is getting really bad during summers now. Also you are framing these two as if they were even slightly same in terms of evidence which isn't true.

ignore them, i never even mentioned politics or covid lol wtf.
I wonder if we'll just descend into blade runner 2049, I'm starting to hope something big shakes things up for good soon.

So it's hot in southern Europe during the summer? Maybe that's just me but I'm just not that surprised about that. Sure, stay in the shade and all but I just hope you aren't falling for those eco grifters who believe the world's gonna end in 12 more years, for reals this time! And the only way to save it is to give them all the power over the economy and how to live your live. We are currently in a warm period after all and as much as a mini ice age would be nice, switching to bio diesel has turned out to not help that over regular fuel. I wonder how much alarmist we, and especially self proclaimed liberals fell for that actually just shot us in the foot and what things we aren't even talking about that might actually been effective instead the green washing nonsense. Like nuking China.

The 2030's are promised to get interesting if that is any reassurance to you.

April was a record-setting heatwave in southeastern Europe.
OP was literally just complaining about the heat and you are telling him to not believe his own senses. Very skeptical of you.

Read again, I believe immediately if someone says it's incredibly hot in the mediterranean region during summer or late spring. It even having a "record setting" heat for the past 20 years or so. It's the claim of direct causation from (exclusively man made) climate change that I question due to this panic being used to get midwits to agree with increased centralized control by people who already have a poor track record of having the general population's well being in mind.
But hey, if it makes you feel any better, the looming civilization collapse might reduce our ecological footprint.

I think it is anthropogenic climate change at this point. They're clear cutting forests and burying the trees to reduce CO2–the gas of life–and blocking the sun with cloud seeding to make sure they can't grow back. It's bound to get hotter with no vegetation, then it'll get very cold with no plants and no sunshine. But this will cause civilizations to collapse, not the other way around. It's on purpose.

Record-setting as in highest average heats ever recorded for that month.
Maybe do the barest minimum of research before you leave a comment.

100F two days in a row now... humidity has it feeling like 110F... I literally struggle to get up from heat exhaustion making me weak and I'm in a brick home with ac, fans, and blocked windows. This is mental, I feel even off griding won't be a viable option soon. It's rarely ever been this hot before, and never has been close to this before the 2000s...

Motte and bailey. Is it getting hotter? Yes. Will giving up all your money and freedom and political power to a centralized bureaucracy of eco-fascists fix it? No.
Cereal Killer · 2024-06-26 08:02
Hearing some places in mexico setting a record of 51°c is insane. It sounds like an oven over there. I'm way way up north but it is getting alot less uncommon to get temps sitting around 20~30°c nowadays.
My fuarrrking igloos, bros. :(

Here in North Italy it's been tolerable so far. I work outside, so I've already got tanned a lot, and surely I've taken plenty of Vitamin D as well. Of course I make sure to bring sun cream and plenty of water everytime, and also a cap in case it gets too intolerable.
Emmanuel · 2024-07-20 03:29
I'm worried about climate change, too! South-eastern Spain had a red heat warning yesterday, and it attracted jellyfish and stingrays on one of the coastal beaches there.
Linda Lee · 2024-07-20 06:29
Its scary once you see the effects near you and it stops being abstract statistics.. Not long ago there were multiple tornados in New York (State) which isn't a common occurrence at all.. Also a really hot july in us
