What's interesting on the Internet?
Guthrie · 2024-05-13 13:52
My many conversations with your mother.
Jim Hilger · 2024-05-13 13:56
Nothing, go outside and make some friends :)
Cereal Killer · 2024-05-13 14:06
nothing, burn it all down. You're short and empty
Jet Black · 2024-05-13 14:19
>>40726 Burn it down, till the embers smoke on the ground. And start, new, when your heart is an empty room. With walls of the deepest blue.
Sabo Engle · 2024-05-13 14:32
Knowledge, that's all worth your time.
Ishikura "Tatsu" Tatsuhiko · 2024-05-13 14:39
>>40728 Nigga I've been surfin the web since 2005 for all sorts of random crap. I've seen things you cunts wouldn't believe! Knowledge is not always desirable. I know your immediate response to this but you do not want me to recite the chronicles of Chris Chan.
J.C. Denton · 2024-05-13 15:07
Whatever intrests you! However, it draws you in...
Joe Bloggs · 2024-05-13 17:07
>>40729 literally everyone knows about chris chan he made mainstream news multiple times
Ein · 2024-05-14 05:56
>>40729 Been around for a similar amount of time, Chris Chan isn't a big deal, and there is no such "dark" knowledge that is undesirable because it gives you some kind of psychological pain. If anything, knowledge is undesirable because it's generally less useful than a combo of intelligence and data/experience.
The Fin · 2024-05-14 09:22
>>40729 I've been on a forum called "hank of the hill" (they changed names every few months, no way to find them now) They were a forum of like 4 ultra autists, don't even know how I came about but aside their niche interests they were all into hacking. All of them spent like 20 hours a day on their computers, talked about how they were smarter than everyone else and would interact with each other through their niche interests. One guy was HEAVILY into japanese mighty morphin power rangers, all the way into 50s, he knew them all and would comment through their scenes and quotes. Another guy liked hank of the hill, another guy liked thomas the tank engine and the other fella I forgot. But all of them would find a weekly target and would hack, cyberbully and just be total dicks to that person or organization. I was too weirded out and I just left after 4 months. Didn't find them since. Kinda miss those crazy bastards in a way.
Mitnick · 2024-05-14 14:43
>>40744 >there is no such "dark" knowledge that is undesirable because it gives you some kind of psychological pain. what do you mean ? roko's basilisk and other information hazards are yet to be proven real.

I like talking to people with all sorts of kinks and fetishes, unusual lifestyles and beliefs, different mental illnesses or just in general different ways of thinking, and criminals. It's just interesting finding out how the world really works in the grand scheme. Thing is never know who is telling truth so I take it with a grain of salt and i of course minimize contact with the more dangerous people.
Delilah · 2024-05-26 03:19
>>40749 That's an interesting story. I was also I a quite niche irc server. I think it was named chakai or something similar. The server was one of the few english speaking servers that operate on the i2p network. At some point, the server went down as well as all informations related to the admin: all of what happened in that server is now gone. I somehow can't stop being nostalgic about the people I met there.

We live in a world where there is more and more information but less meaning. The internet is just a big mass of meaningless junk content. There is really not that much interesting on it. All it does is suck up your time like sperm sucking ewhore distracting you from the things that genuinely are interesting in life. The internet should be used minimally. Limit your usage to only those things it was useful for back in the 80s: sharing files and software, contacting others, reading, phreaking, streaking. Everything else is digital content masturbation.
Anonymous · 2024-05-26 07:13
>>41012 >streaking wait, what?
Terzibashjian · 2024-05-29 08:14
>>40723 nothing, sites like fmf-team.com were moderately interesting. the warez scene is interesting but they have bad opsec and know each other irl / have each other on facebook and its private so its not really the real internet.

Chans are the only websites that are minimally interesting on the internet (besides a few others I know) because it's the only places where you don't find normal people. Besides those, I visit three blogs I find interesting. Unfortunately, blogs are becoming rarer as Google makes it impossible to find them and people move to social media, where people are forced to produce the worse type of content to please lazy and instant gratification addicts.
Gyula Kovacs · 2024-07-09 20:28
>>40723 Nothing besides a few things like pirating movies, tv shows, games etc, downloading fanarts, watching some YouTube videos etc

>>40729 i can't tell if you're truly ancient and out of touch enough to believe chris-chan is not a super-celebrity. i can't tell if you're nobody trying to use the first lolcow shock factor subject that popped in your head as clout. i can't tell if you're neither, but just didn't think enough before posting. god forbid you're baiting. surely you wouldn't stoop so low?
Drano · 2024-07-27 04:54
Install Freenet and explore it for a while. After you've done that, and finished vomiting, and gone through psychotherapy to repair some of the brain-damage, you'll be a lot more satisfied with the rest of the boring old internet.
Pris · 2024-07-27 10:27
>>41970 Which ones are fun, for example ?

>>40723 You're asking in the wrong place. There is a strong incentive to gatekeep right now. For example, Discord replacing forums is not a problem in and of itself, its a reaction to a problem. The reach of corpos has overtaken the reach of the power-user. Get with the times and keep your mouth shut when you do find something. Why do you think we saw an unprecedented uptick in people posting on social media re: "nobody knows how to pirate anymore" right before a bunch of distributors were shut down? The game is different
Roy Batty · 2024-07-28 20:39
>>41988 Discord replacing forums is part of a problem and a reaction to forums increasingly taking moderation style cues from Facebook and Reddit etc and because of 4channers raiding forums who themselves were originally raided by Stormfront roughly a decade ago now which itself is what triggered this corporate style moderation which itself only has occurred because they are actually largely corporations owning everything now and so many people forgot it used to be the norm to just ban violent propagandists and harassers to keep everyone able to just be themselves without being attacked while if they dont like something they are left having to just ignore someone and learn to tolerate all kinds of people. As for torrents that is just because absolute morons publicly posting them instead of sending the info privately. I always tell people never publicly announce sources just message someone privately if they ask and are trustworthy. It really is frustrating the situation we all ran into. I want the 2000s internet back or at least pre 2015.
