ITT: Does life imitate fiction? Or is fiction willed from life? Is all fiction but a memory from life that's far, far away from ours?
Hi, I'm new to this place but I've been unto SEL for quite some time.
Have you ever dreamed/created something (same applies for just consuming some content) and went all "damn, I feel like this is all real somewhere".
I'll go straight to the point: It's my intent to start a discussion about the possibility of fiction being somehow a reflection of different universes and the possibility of the Looking Glass Project conspiracy theory being (somewhat) legit.
Also, in what moment do you guys think the world of SEL diverges from our own? For example, what events could've made the year 1998 be so technologically advanced compared to our own.
I've seen some schizo rant somewhere about how SEL takes place in the same work of Akira, or, at least that it saw a ww3 in the 80s in similar circumstances.

I wised I phrased this post better, lol, was excited to discuss such a subjective matter back in the day.

What? Fiction comes from imagination. Imagination is influenced by real life. Real life in turn is influenced by fiction because fiction is part of life. There is an interplay between mind and matter.

Yeah that's a funny thought. A lot of what we see and 'consume' is absorbed subconsciously and even if we forget where a certain concept originated from, we won't forget the concept itself. When we create something new, some of our inspirations are unknown even to ourselves.

idk if youve heard of the term hyperfiction? its where something in fiction becomes real. it happens alot actually. yes, like anon said its an interplay between mind and matter.

Since we are an abstract creature what i think is that for something to be actualized into reality it must first start off as fiction. Simple example but it gets to the point. For most of human history the ability to fly was pure fiction. Now planes are a trivial part of our life. For it to be made a reality it started off as fiction

Yes, I've heard about it. My intuition says that in the future our politics and society will be defined by it's hyper-reality, and that the faustian narrative's last days (i.e now) will be seen as hyper-fictional, for most of our favorite media will be deemed prophetical, as if life truly imitated art.
