Middle East war (ww3 coming??)

>Israel strikes hospital, kills 500
So it looks like Israel has just bombed a baptist hospital killing up to 500 people. Its been confirmed by Reuters, the UN and WHO. This might make negotiations impossible and a wider war involving Lebanon or Iran inevitable. UN
forces are allegedly evacuating from the Lebanese border.
https://www.middleeasteye.net/news/israel-palestine-war-gaza-army-bombs-hospital-killing
This raises some questions: how would Hezbollah possibly pose a threat to Israel? It lacks any kind of air force or heavy artillery. It no longer has the element of surprise either and what's stopping Israel from unleashing a bombing campaign on Lebanon about as extreme as Gaza? Since the two countries share no land border, what are Iran's strategic options here? I'm guessing they'll either supply weapons to their proxies and avoid direct involvement. A missile or air strike on Israel would provoke US response.
How would an Israeli ground invasion of Gaza even go? Gaza is much larger than Grozny or Fallujah. It's now a smoking pile of rubble, offering excellent positions for cover and defending insurgents and difficult operating environment for any mechanized army.
>A second US super carrier battle group has been deployed to the Eastern Med and some reports claim 2,000 US troops are being prepared to potentially assist Israel.

Israel’s gameplan is to expel the Gazans and annex the northern half of the strip as a a security zone. They say they’ll eliminate Hamas and hand over what’s left to the PA. Sound familiar? It’s exactly what we did in Afghanistan/Iraq minus the ethnic cleansing part. You can’t just eliminate guerrillas overnight especially if you go total nigger death on the civilian population. Are those people going to accept the candidate you choose for them right after you Holocausted half of them and bombed the rest to the stone age? They’ll end up with a forever war in a Gaza and another one in Lebanon and when soldiers come back in body bags and investors start leaving their little soykafhole country will feel the pinch. Israel has already lost.

Why would anyone still take them seriously after rona.
I hate those people who back ukraine, even tho they know nothing about any of it, my grandfather was from there. westerners should mind their own business not seek trouble while their own countries fall apart, this is how wars escalate.
Jews and muslims have always been causing trouble, mass rape/murder and lies is nothing new and should not be so hyped up, im glad they are killing one another, i just hope they all exterinate one another totally so things dont repeat themselfs.
Also i wanna see how long it goes until people forget about ukraine, it will show just how superfacial and cheap all those people are.
Im happy we have war, i hope humanity snuffs itself out totally, this despicable display of trechery we call western mentality should be driven to destroy itself and the people most of all.

The Israeli government allowed if not orchestrated attacks against their own country in order to have an excuse to take over what is left of the land they have yet to conquer unless the goal is outright genocide in which case they wouldnt care burning it all down.

Even the mainstream media reporters aren't buying Israel's lies about the hospital strike. There's no way a hospital that large could have been blown up by a rocket with such a small warhead (10kg of plastic explosive or improvised munitions). The IDF's Arabic and Hebrew Twitter accounts posted tweets bragging about striking the hospital, including one about euthanizing patients, and in English they tweeted they'd warned the hospital prior to the strike . They then deleted those tweets. If Israel isn't responsible why did they take credit for it?

We are already in a WW3 ever since Bush declared a global war in his axis of evil speech. This war is less like WW2 and more like an endless dirty war against weaker countries, proxies and guerrilla groups through COIN operations, limited strikes, use of death squads and militias. It's what the Chinese call unrestricted warfare.
Hezbollah's strength is their light infantry and reserves. They will not opt to fight offensively against a conventional army hence their defensive posture. Their attempts at fighting conventional battles against the Turks in Idlib haven't gone well. The major issue for Israel is their faced with a Stalingrad like fight in Gaza and need a large numerical advantage to offset what will be high losses but having to fight Hezbollah in the north and an uprising in the West Bank will stretch their manpower to the limit.
>>38108
Israeli officials saw Hamas as an asset not because they created and supported it but because it gave them leverage. Hamas is a designated terrorist organization so as long as they stay in office Israel could take advantage of Bush's war on terror refuse to negotiate with the Palestinians outright and continue with expansionist policies. When Hamas was elected they hadn't carried out a terrorist attack in years and wouldn't resume attacks inside Israel until the 2008-2009 war. Being backed by Tehran, Hamas fulfills another one of Netanyahu's dreams: to launch an attack on Iran and neutralize it. Israel would then become the dominant regional power and dominate oil and gas routes.
The Fin · 2023-10-18 06:45
>>38104
I wouldn't say so. Purging a population of 2 million people isolated from the rest of the world in an "open space concentration camp", as they say, shouldn't be that hard after you bomb them back to stone age, turn off water and electricity, deny foreign aid from entering the area, and finally cut off their escape routes from all directions for just so long that they'll become desperate and go anywhere you want to direct them to go - and especially when you've got the silent approval of all the most relevant countries on your side (did you see just recently how the president of Colombia first threatened to severe diplomatic ties with Israel, a statement which was then 180'ed by the foreign minister? Goes to show how afraid everyone is of the US military, the economic repercussions and the Mossad psyops.). Also, money shouldn't be an issue for Jerusalem, as long as a significant portion of their military spending is piggy-banked by Washington. Moreover, Jerusalem has time on their side: they can just wait until most of Palestinians are starved to death. The Jews can sit put, throw rockets and mortars at the civilians and just wait for them to either eat each other, get evacuated by goody two-shoes Europeans after some diplomatic back-and-forth, or go on an uncontrolled stampede towards Egypt. And whoever remains standing, they can assume they are with Hamas, and shoot in the spot.
>>38110
As far as I've understood it, the expansionist agenda is indeed pretty much the reason why Hamas unwittingly benefits Jerusalem. Netanyahu himself has said that
>Anyone who wants to thwart the establishment of a Palestinian state has to support bolstering Hamas and transferring money to Hamas.
They'd be more than glad to receive a political justification for wiping out the Gaza itch. But the assault on Iran seems a bit of a pipedream at this point, although it is surely a long-term goal on their to-do-list. They need Iran to do some political miscalculation, which directly involves them. The "Terrorists are in Afghanistan" card has already been played, and I doubt Western countries are going to be fooled twice with it. The more pressing matter for Jerusalem at this point is the elimination of Iran's proxy conflict areas, namely Gaza, West Bank and the Hezbollah operating in Lebanon. After that, who knows what can happen?
SHODAN · 2023-10-18 09:08
Let's assume they successfully expel the civilian population south to Khan Younis, this still won't get rid of the thousands of fighters who'll stay behind. Those ruined and destroyed buildings make for excellent defensive positions, machine gun nests, sniper positions, whole areas of the city can be filled with IEDs and booby traps, pre-determined ambush points and anti-tank missiles. The IDF would have to fight for every rubble pile and bombed out apartment building, floor to floor, building to building. The large amount of refuse and rubble covering the streets, many of which will probably already be mined, would make it difficult to move troops with IFVs or bring up armor to provide support. We know Hamas' tunnel network is more sophisticated than the IDF previously believed, they offer excellent positions to launch attacks and move insurgents around the city. There's also the psychological factor, the Hamas and PIJ have nowhere else to go and their defending their home neighborhoods. They can't retreat and return the way insurgents did in Fallujah or Ramadi. They will make a determined last stand.
Israel is trying to go in with a 3:1 numerical advantage, however 5:1 is typically recommended for heavily damaged urban areas. Will they be able to take the high casualties? Hezbollah pressure on the northern border will stretch them to their operational limits. They might simply lack the troops to be effective. The Israeli public couldn't tolerate the small number of troop deaths in Lebanon in 2006. If they invade Gaza a dozens of soldiers will be coming home in body bags. How would ordinary Israelis react to that? This would be like Grozny but worse due to sheer scale and the number of enemy and the IDF's heavy bombardment of Gaza city has actually made their chances even worse.
HELIOS · 2023-10-18 18:06
So Israel actually produced some tangible evidence that the hospital strike was the work of Hamas: https://www.cnn.com/videos/world/2023/10/18/idf-audio-allegedly-capturing-hamas-operatives-gaza-hospital-bts-vpx.cnn
Is there any hard evidence for the claim from the Muslim side, or is their source literally "just trust me bro, the jews are evil"
Elliot Alderson · 2023-10-18 18:39

There are satellites watching the entire gaza strip almost 24/7, so Israel probably has video of the event happening. They either don't want to show their capabilities or were responsible for the attacks. Scratchy audio recording of unknown speakers is easily faked, and always was, even before the advent of generative AI tools.
Gyula Kovacs · 2023-10-18 18:41
>>38120
There is no Muslim side. There's a side that leans towards the strike being Israeli and another side that claims it was a PIJ or Hamas misfire. Right now the evidence either way is inconclusive. Hamas doesn't use cellphones or any electronic devices to coordinate strikes. They use hand written messages and runners to avoid their comms being tapped. There are a few things that people who support the Israeli airstrike theory point to:
>Israel has a history of attacking hospitals, UN buildings and targeting ambulances (especially in this current conflict)
>The IDF has a history of lying and fabricating evidence (which even MSM reporters raised in press conferences) including producing doctored footage and audio (e.g. Abu Akleh killing, lying to families of soldiers taken prisoner during Protective Edge)
>An Israeli official took responsibility after the incident and these posts were then deleted 2 minutes later
The audio has already been refuted by the British. The men are speaking broken non-fluent Arabic, mixing dialects, and don't have Gazan accents. They also point to inconsistencies in the IDF's account

Are you seriously saying that Hamas has never attacked civilian targets or fabricated evidence? The koran literally says it's okay to lie to infidels. And on top of that you're denying that Hamas Palestinians are Muslim? Come on man... Its obvious you either hate Jews or love brown people. Just own it.
The neutral stance is when two conflicting theories are presented, the one that has more supporting evidence is more likely. Btw the recording Israel acquired isn't about military strategy, but rather two guys talking about how a rocket misfired which caused the explosion.
Israelis nor the Palestinians have any incentive to blow up hospitals right now while the world is watching. I'm not operating under the assumption that either side is plain evil (though it sounds like you are). Given that assumption and given that everyone agrees the Palestinians have an extremely primitive military, it is reasonable to conclude this was an accident that occurred due to crappy Palestinian munitions.

Indeed, but that evidence should not be accepted uncritically. Personally I think this recording is not very convincing, so the "more likely" meter is just barely above 50%.

So they can get people agitated over this to distract from the decay of the usa.
They can put on a big show about this again and again and again.
Plus they can siphon off billions via "foreign aid" into their own pockets.
Problems are never resolved so they can continually milk them.
Koos van der Merwe · 2023-10-19 04:02
The US supports a two state solution because it needs Israel. As Biden explained, if Israel did not exist the US would have to invent an Israel. Its a key in America's Middle East policy and global strategy and it help keeps the cheap oil and gas flowing. Beyond that there's strong ideological and nationalistic support for Israel. Many US politicians have family in Israel, do business in the country, take money from Israeli companies, there are huge number of Americans living in Israel and vice versa. But some writers in Foreign Policy magazine, a mouthpiece for US diplomats, are now saying a two state solution is not viable anymore. The facts on the ground have changed. Washington has given a green light for Netanyahu to pursue expansionist policies and thumping the two state solution is a convenient way to come off as peaceniks to the public when in reality you don't give a soykaf. Biden simply hoped with that normalization and Israel's economic ascendancy the Palestinian issue would slowly disappear like the Native American one.

Looks like the Houthis tried to launch missiles at Israel. Attacks on US bases in Syria and Iraq have also been reported. I doubt Hezbollah will be a huge threat to Israel. The Lebanese economy has been hit hard, their fatigued from war in Syria, Mossad have assassinated some of their top operatives over the years including Imad Mughniyeh. But their light infantry is highly regarded and they can bleed the IDF in a guerrilla war.
I'm surprised the IDF have been so slow to launch their invasion. Their giving Hamas and other Gazan factions more time to prepare a defense of the city. Remember, in urban environments the attacker is always at a disadvantage. Like America, the Israeli public can't tolerate troop losses. The IDF pulled out of Lebanon after loosing only 120 men. Losses inside Gaza could be much higher. The best bet for Hamas is to inflict severe casualties on the IDF causing a collapse of morale and support for the war at home. Even if they loose the Gaza they'll have scored a major political victory in the long term.
Aljazeera has a breakdown of the hospital incident and found the IDF account doesn't hold water. Still no consensus on what exactly hit the hospital.

The longer the wait the harder a ground invasion will be.

Between 10 and 50% of the weapons given to Ukraine went to the black market. As a result, Azerbaijan gained an advantage over Armenia, the ex Yugo become hot again, the cards are redistributed all over Africa and the Hamas is confident it can manage the assault of the IDF.
Perhaps giving so many modern weapons to one of the most corrupt country in the world wasn't a good idea after all.

An opinion should be evaluated on its merits not by who is making it. Let's say, for the sake of argument, Hitler told you the sun sets in the West. Are you going to discount that because he's Adolf Hitler? Aljazeera's footage was used by the IDF in their presentation as evidence for their point of view so getting the network's perspective is pretty crucial. As the other Lainon mentioned, a British state owned news channel also cast doubt on the IDF's story and raised similar objections. So if a group financed by the British state, which backs Israel, came to similar conclusions then this strengthens the argument. Nothing is really conclusive right now but the IDF's official line is flawed and suspicious. But why focus on this hospital strike? There are dozens of other incidents worth talking about. It's become a media sensation.
As for Aljazeera's bias, I'd say that Westerns tend to dismiss other opinions and perspectives as biased when they are just different. When Russians say they fear America, they aren't lying they are just voicing their own opinion based on their experiences and interpretation of events. Aljazeera is an Arab news channel so they are going to look at things for an Arab perspective. AJ doesn't engage in the excessive favoritism of the big Western media. I've seen them bring on Hamas and IDF representatives and ask both tough questions, including accusing Hamas of war crimes. Meanwhile, CNN brings on an IDF spokesperson/representative, doesn't talk to the other side and doesn't ask any hard questions at all. No media outlet is going to be perfect but I don't think Aljazeera is as bad as CNN or DW which are just news porn.

If the IDF couldn't beat Hezbollah in 2006 back how are they going to destroy Hamas? Hezbollah had less fighters then than Hamas does today and Hamas has already kicked them out of Gaza once before. IDF spokesmen keep saying they have a plan but don't really discuss anything. Obviously, nobody's going to leak their entire battle plan but they haven't even given a general outline of what this is meant to achieve. They don't have a plan. It's all kneejerk. It looks like Israel is not going to abide by its own evacuation orders and attacks will be launched towards Khan Younis south of the Wadi Gaza. Militarily its wise to attack from multiple angles and force the enemy to distribute their forces but the IDF have clearly violated their own policy again. They were warned to vacate a hospital loaded with people in critical condition, such a warning is meaningless. Let them take people in the ICU off medical equipment so they can die outside. Israel wants to kill as many Palestinians as they can. If that wasn't the case then they wouldn't have offered civilians 24 hours to vacate targeted regions, they wouldn't have cut off the water and electricity, they wouldn't be indiscriminately carpet bombing the whole country, they wouldn't be targeting aid workers and caravans trying to supply civilians with medical aid, food and water, they wouldn't blow up churches killing hundreds of civilians.
Israel is a nation based upon genocide, they wouldn't have been able to gain any land in Palestine were it not for the mass killings of civilians. In order to not be a complete hypocrite, people whom believe that countries of this era should be held to a higher moral standard than nations of the past which had also genocided cannot support Israel. Israel is a blight, all they do is leech off of America for money to fuel the invasions of their neighboring countries. They plan on expanding the current narrative so as to allow them to invade Lebanon next. They're probably going to go after Egypt in the future, their plan for "Greater Israel" -which is always being revised so as to include even more land that doesn't belong to them- does include part of Egypt. They're trying to start soykaf with Iran as well now.
What does Israel offer to their supposed "allies", if anything? They leech billions of dollars, they spy on countless people worldwide by installing companies under Israeli control into countries to offer services, and exfiltrate the data the companies collect from their customers. They steal classified information from and hack computer systems of their allies, they try to stage terrorist attacks or allow terrorist attacks to happen so as to further their Zionist agenda, they bomb unarmed American ships on international waters and shoot up their liferafts, try to kill stretcher-bearers and firefighters. Blow up churches killing countless civilians, blow up hospitals, kill journalists, kill international volunteers, kill kids for throwing rocks at them, threaten to nuke their neighboring countries and make veiled threats to nuke America and Europe if they stop supporting them. Nothing evil about any of these examples though.
The ambassador of Israel said that "The United Nations holds not one ounce of legitimacy." I'm not a fan of the UN, but I will say that statement really shows the Israeli government to be completely hypocritical rats considering how much they leech off the UN and international community. It's very easy to paint Palestine as an aggressor when you ignore the entirety of history up until a few weeks ago. Israel is categorically speaking the aggressor in this situation, which you know, you're just trolling.

A strategic principal that the destruction of civilian infrastructure to deny an asymmetric threat actor political legitimacy by inflicting suffering on the civilian population as well as to minimize the IDF's own troop losses. It takes its name from the 2006 invasion of Lebanon, where IDF applied this concept by razing the Shia quarter of Beirut; deliberate targeting of civilians and civilian infastructure. The chief of staff of the IDF, Gadi Eisenkot, subsequently announced this as a future IDF policy for dealing with threats in Lebanon and Gaza. Since Eisenkot's departure, the IDF has been developing an entirely new military doctrine based on Shock and Awe theories, but the targeting of civilians, UN workers, multiple hospitals, schools, news media offices etc. along with statements of the Israeli defense minister indicate that the Dahiya doctrine is still at play. If the IDF deliberately targeted that hospital they did so because it's a long standing military policy. Even if the IDF didn't attack the Al-Ahli Baptist hospital, it wouldn't be unreasonable for people to assume they did. Other hospitals, like al-Quds and al-Shifa, have reported "roof knock" attacks, near miss strikes and explicit threats from the IDF and they've done this kind of thing before. It's part of Israeli military doctrine.
>hamas killed 1500 civilian jews, including mass rape and torture and beheadings and some of their targets were elementary schools.
The actual number is around 1400 and we don't know the distribution between civilians and combatants although civilian casualties are probably higher. The mass beheadings has already been debunked as misinformation, it came from a sole IDF officer's off the cuff comment to an i24 news reporter and he wasn't even present when the incidents occurred and didn't provide proof. Incidents of rape haven't been independently verified either. Why is this important? Many armies use spin when dealing with the press but the IDF is infamous, even within Israel, for lying to journalists and supplying them fabricated information. Over the last week, IDF and Israeli government officials have paraded a bunch of documents and paraphernalia to connect Hamas with ISIS. There's just one problem with this: all these materials are readily available online and ISIS declared war on Hamas five years ago. What's more likely? That IDF simply printed off material from archive.org or that Hamas, a group that's had a long history of violent feuds with ISIS and a long standing alliance with Hezbollah another arch nemesis of ISIS, is in fact an ISIS organization? No statement coming either from the Hamas movement or the IDF and Israeli government should be taken seriously unless it's a claim that is independently verified.

Maybe its my luck but I've only met one palestinian IRL and he brought up the idea of beheading people multiple times in the brief period I knew him. He was quite giddy about it! I wouldn't be too surprised if he's over there now, and I wouldn't dismiss such accusations out of hand myself.
Doesn't change my opinion on the war though, and yes we should be skeptical about what the various soldirsemites on both sides and their journalsemite allies say and imply.
Also, considering where physically this war is happening, massive inconvenience to civilians at the very least in essentially inescapable. Don't live on the front line if you don't want to live on the front line.

An exceptional warning as demonstrated but religious nutjobs incapable of perceiving anything outside of their "God's most chosen, specialist of special boys" ego bubble. In fact, not being able to consider yourself incorrect isn't a human trait, these people are literal animals, giddy with the idea their faith will cause presentable harm, "See? I told you? God is on my side." I can't imagine a more sociopathic, destructive, unintelligent worldview as to limit oneself to the stoneage because, just like autistic fat retards, they're addicted to a fantasy in which they are the main character. Immune to being wrong, every internalization of emotion is outwardly facilitated as appropriate, "BUT I T ' S MINE!!!!!!!!!! !!" like a child pathetically screaming for a cookie, covered in it's own saliva; Just the same as children do not have rights, because they are not yet an actual person, these 'people' deserve to be treated the same: Disciplined every time they fuarrrk up until they realize the world doesn't cater to their mindless belief that everyone in the world, by God's holy law, needs to be subservient to them.

Try other asking Palestinian stans to explicitly condemn Hamas. In my experience about 75% of the time, they will refuse to condemn Hamas, instead deflecting in a variety of sneaky ways.
One of their favorite techniques is refusing to answer until I condemn the IDF. The difference is that the IDF is for DEFENSE. Hamas is the aggressor. Whenever there is a standoff between a mass shooter and a police officer, would you say "There are good and bad people on both sides"? No (hopefully) you'd condemn the unprovoked murderer. Remember, there was a ceasefire until Hamas's October 7th attack.
Just like Hamas, that mass shooter has a cornucopia of rationalizations. "It's society's fault!" "It's not fair that chad gets all the girls!" "I was bullied as a child!" "The Jews are using commercials with black people in them to commit white GENOCIDE!" I'm sure bad things actually did happen to that mass shooter which drove him to want to murder other people. That doesn't actually justify his actions.

Arguing with it is exactly the same as arguing with Hamas. They're religious zealots, you can't have a conversation with zealots. They're animals. He's just going to talk like an uneducated woman who knows she's losing an argument. That's why I remind them that the Torah says "The Jewish pretenders will die, then the real Jews can move back into Israel." it's literally happening right now, and it's why real Jews are outspokenly condemning Israel. Zionists think Palestinians were those prophesied "pretend jews" when that's obviously not true. The book even says the pretenders will rebuild the temple for the real Jews, something Zionists are trying to do. It's hilarious how delusional these Ottoman rejects are, clinging desperately to a prophecy that doesn't even involve them.
And nothing makes 'em madder. This is like posting Tienanmen square in Chinese spaces, easiest trolling in years to be honest I haven't had this much fun in a long time, but the idea of having an actual conversation with them is extremely far fetched.

Most people have no reason to support HAMAS or Israel. It's a regional war and the outcome is probably not going to change much worldwide. The only reason to have an opinion is because of the civilians involved.

>By real Jews, I assume you're referring those who follow Christ?
No, I'm very specifically insinuating that the current occupants of Israel are none of the 12 tribes, and therefore are not the demographic they believe they are, the crux of their idealization. Removing or otherwise assaulting this support will either 1) Affirm them as human if they contemplate it as possible 2) Affirm them as a zealot in their denial of it.
I use Irish as a basis to ideologically dominate them because the Irish being the unadulterated Tribe of Dan, the Tuatha de Dannan, and Gaelic being the original language of Israel.
>Speak, I pray thee, unto thy servants in the Syrian language, for we understand it, and speak not unto us in the Jew’s language in the ears of the people that are on the wall.
I'm not religious, though, and I don't really care. This isn't about me being right. It's about them being wrong. They bear the burden of proof in claiming they have Jus Sanguine to Israel, and not only does their book prove otherwise, Jewish leaders have also agreed.
All of it is religious mumbo jumbo to me, but the archeology adds up: If they believe in their book, their book says they are wrong. Therein this isn't even about religion, it's about the massive, disgusting egos religion has permitted them to grow. "I'm one of God's chosen people" is the most sociopathic thing a person can subscribe to, and it's a treat to make them question themselves using their own theological base. If they can't question themselves as potentially wrong, they don't deserve respect. It simplifies things for me and makes them look stupid at the same time.

It will be interesting to see how the IDF will respond to Hamas infiltration this time. In their last outing, Hamas used tunnels to penetrate their rear and attack them from behind. They've lost over 300 soldiers including colonels. With their economy tanking and millions being spent each hour on the war, I doubt Israel can sustain losses at these rates. I've heard reports they plan to flush those tunnels with some sort of gas, probably non-lethal or tear gas, but who knows how that will turn out. Looks like Bibi has gone full Hannibal on the hostages. I don't think he wants them back, especially after the last one publicly criticized him and the IDF for getting their ass kicked by a rag tag militia.
Why doesn't Hamas use its Fajr-5 type rockets to hit those concentrations of Israeli troops and armor massing on the border? Those huge number of men and vehicles would be an easy target for massed barrages of artillery rockets right?

Furthermore existing in a particular plot of land does not mean you consent to anything that anybody else does on that land. Israel is (nominally) a democracy so presumably the people there want war to some extent, HAMAS hasn't won an election since 2006. Either way, I don't see how that affects anyone living outside of either country.

In my country - a western country - there was a sentiment that people hung out an Ukraine flag in support of Ukraine. I observed it closely, and concluded that the people who did that, are people who've got crimes to hide themselves which they mask through their support of Ukraine. The crimes were almost always crimes of child abuse. This tells me a lot about an important reason on why Russia invaded Ukraine.

This is the Big War of Muslims vs Jews that has been brewing for decades. It's happened many time before in history under different guises. The Bible talks about this extensively, where many prophets take up arms to cleanse Israel, which always happens when Israel has fallen into heresy, which it has. The difference this time, is that there is modern warfare and modern weaponry instead of sticks and stones, and the fact that the entire world is involved and closely observing. This war is a pivotal one in this silent world war.
The current government of Israel has its back against the wall. While they still have some allies in high places, those allies have been thinned out greatly in the past years and hold very little power. Those allies are also with their backs against the wall. Pro-sentiment for Israel is very low in the West, and is mostly found in the elder generations, who just parrot it because of their post-WW2 upbringing and because the MSM tells them so. Younger generations are either pro-Gaza or they don't care about what happens. The states surrounding Israel - Iran, Gaza, Syria, Saudi-Arabia & Egypt (home of the Muslim Brotherhood) - all rather would see the current Israeli administration vanish and thus will ally against Israel when push comes to shove. This war will end in the favor of those opposing the heretics of Israel. My only question is what moves the Israeli government will do in their desperation.

can tell you from living in the region my whole life that both Israelis and Palestinians are in love with each other and would gladly have times of peace where they can eat and celebrate holidays with each other and times of war when they can kill each other. It completes them and gives them purpose in life and keeps it interesting. They both (from by experience talking to both) have a macabre relationship to this but none will outright admit it. You really should visit a regular Friday afternoon protests. its like in a school playground where a girl who picks on you actually just likes you but escalated with teargas, burning tires and actual wounded.
the big difference now that Hamas kicked a hornets nest by massacring all those people on the border and now the Israelis will not stop until they kill every single Hamas soldier in the region (a mission that has a really high probability of failing IMHO)
TLDR: they love that their enemy gives them purpose and no peace will exist for either without one another.

Israeli president Herzog claimed Hamas was developing chemical weapons (unsubstantiated as usual) so it looks like they are preparing the public for that, or at least testing a response. Israel might end up in deep soykaf if they actually use nerve gas on Gaza but then again an Isreali intelligence document which advised the ethnic cleansing of Gaza was leaked and didn't cause massive outrage. I mean, if they'll let Israel off the hook for ethnic cleansing, are they really going to care if they go full irony and gas people?

Look at it this way, the land has been contested for all of recorded history, it wound up as the Palestinians land and remained so until the 1920s when Jews began moving in, eventually the Jews gained greater support from the United Kingdom and Western nations and they began to take aggressive action. They "reappropriated" the homes, businesses and entire infrastructure of the supposedly vacant, lawless, land that the government and media portrayed Palestine to be. The Jews bolstered their settlements and slaughtered Palestinians to take over their communities so they could grow "Israel".

It looks like the force moving through along the coast will have to cut the the Rimal district, which the Israeli air force has pulverized to rubble and might create serious problems for their ground troops. Looks like there haven't been heavy casualties so far besides civvies and once they hit Gaza city itself things could turn into a bloodbath.
Along the border with Lebanon, the Qassam brigades launched a surprise 12 rocket barrage into northern Israel, the first time a Palestinian group has attacked from Lebanese soil since the early 80s. Kiryat Shmona was hit and is being evacuated while IDF warns locals that there's a risk of Hezbollah and Hamas drone attacks in the area.
