I stumbled across this site while hunting down the music of this Koronba fellow. Can't remember if I've ever been here before, but I might stick around this time. I do enjoy the serial experiments.
Bless the archivists over at the old uboachan thread.

Koronba still seems relevant, in the JP community at least.
This contemporary video references it at 9:36:

And I still find Youtube videos that closely follow the style.
If any wanderers more in-touch with the JP community happen to be around, please do tell about Koronba's standing there in the present day.
My Japanese isn't strong enough to research myself.

There really isn't much more to find out. There are a couple of zip files floating around on the wired that include everything he's ever done. The comics with the space guy were an interesting read.

I mean, I found the archives.
I'm moreso interested in how the community views him nowadays, since he seems to have retained cultural presence.

I've been following the trend closely, too. I actually loosely archive songs/videos here and there on my own and have a playlist on Youtube grouping songs of that are similar to Koronba's style.
A pretty solid culture has been forming around this artist's songs for a while now. despite his disappearance. Some goes as far to make imitations accounts make songs in his style and then delete the account after the song gets attention, from my observations. Not sure if intentional but it sure as heck look like it.
You'll see his style of videos with the simple shapes behind a black background, characters singing infront of wide scapes, in more recent niche vocaloid artist too. (like this one https://youtu.be/-x4BRRGXPeU ) A bunch of artist likes to make songs and videos in his style to pay respect.
He left a pretty big mark in the community. Gives him a bit of a urban legend status surrounding his enigmatic leave. and yeah lotta people gives him respect. even to not name him directly as wished in the message before he logged off the internet. Some people even ask to some reposter to delete work that Koronba didn't allow the repost of. (Happened to me when i reposted and imitation's deleted work for archive purpose of my own on youtube. forgot to non-list it lol)
That's what I can gather from the top of my head really. Love the guy's work and the others following his path. Sidenote: They have such a unique style. It still vocaloid/utau genre, but I feel it deserves a sub-genre of it's own.
(also lol I also saw that zundamon video in OP's post. tho I don't really understand why that reference is there other than lul other AI refrence obscure media)

OP here.
I think I like it here, anons.
I inquire about the legacy of a decade-disappeared artist and not only does this guy know exactly what I'm talking about, he's seen the random video I linked.
*And* you have your own zine.
Glad to hear the niche is still around. I've only found artists with his style by floating down a stream of Youtube recommendations, given my lack of competency with Japanese and that they're kind of intentionally difficult to find.
Maybe there are tags on niconico I could use to search.
Recently I was only able to find really unwatched videos and feared the trend was dying, so I was surprised to see it referenced in the video I linked.
Again, glad to hear it wasn't.
Also, heck yeah, random Mother sample.
I can't understand most of the lyrics, but the visuals and audio are so striking that I've been following it over the years, collecting various things by bookmark or download. Definitely its own little thing.
