>burst poster This is what I do and what I've noticed a few other people do too. Basically once a day you bump like 10 threads within an hour of each other, then maybe create one proper thread. In my case it's usually when I walk to the store, but maybe it's when you're soykafting or just when you do your morning drugs. Then I pretty much don't check anything until the next day. >thirst poster The type who posts indiscriminately at regular intervals and constantly refreshes the page. Need a better name for this one because they're actually necessary to keep a board functioning. >activist poster Someone notorious for shilling a very specific thing. It could be a communist or MAP ally who derails every single thread into their favorite thing to talk about, or it could be an incel who constantly posts guro. >avatar poster Someone who plays a character and constantly attaches their posts to 1 of their 10,000 reaction pics of their chosen character. Some people super-hate this and many imageboards have criminalized this particular posting style but I think it's cool. I'm not the type of person who can pull off good avatar posting myself; I just really enjoy the vibe it brings to the board. It makes it using these places feel more like the VR forums in Serial Experiments Lain. >blog poster Someone who doesn't necessarily derail any threads, but does constantly post about unrelated personal stuff in threads where it's not appropriate. Perhaps also include schizo posters in this category. Which type are you? Which types did I miss?
Hong, Guil Dong · 2022-07-20 05:21
>>31852 >Which type are you? Im the blog poster, and to keep up with the description, i should really get something to write down my toughts and not spew it onto an imageboard.
Apoc · 2022-07-20 06:54
>>31852 Activist, though I’m compelled to by there being so much misinformation being posted where the person posting almost always admits they don’t actually know anything about the subject *they brought up* but refusing to accept that makes their opinion invalid. It’s not even for their benefit, the hope is that any onlookers will realise the misinformation is just that, so I do cease most opportunities I’m afraid.
Netrunner · 2022-07-20 07:04
>>31853 You still won't though, because you post about it here instead of acting on it directly while that is both already available and affordable. >inb4 muh schedule Yeah and your phone and computer don't have a text processor, you are posting on this board with a coffee machine and also you are le ill and/or impoverished so no responsibility could ever be attributed to you. >>31852 (OP) >which am I Probably activist (or "hasbaraposter") + pooscribe. >thirstposter How about simply "pooscribe", they check the state of their bowels and dump info whenever's the time's appropriate for it. >you must upload an image I like how creatively tended this board's filters / bot responses are. Oh, I see I used the wrong form after a page redirect. I'll add an image anyway.

I'm the bursty poster who always chimes in about how anonymity systems work and how to hide your ass.
Fred Nurk · 2022-07-22 09:23
>>31854 People really do want to hear about total stranger's lives sometimes. Have you never gone to a bar and had a total stranger emodump on you? I've done it to others as well. It feels quite liberating for both parties. >>31865 Is CP really that important to you? Typical activist poster
Lady Jessica · 2022-07-22 10:02
Activist poster that NWO and schizo posts. There's something cathartic putting out into words an explanation of these things in the approach that you do not know the audience. But idk, I kind of want to stop at the same time, since the glowie thing is a very real problem and these topics are prime space for them, especially so in anonymous imageboards. Everybody is a glowie until proven otherwise, and how will you prove that? Yet at the same time these topics are getting more popular in Lainchan. It's like the culture here is slowly moving away from dreaming of cyberpunk as a loved fiction and into living cyberpunk as the terrible reality... with good reason imo but nevertheless.

>>31879 You could seize my box and decrypt it and you would find nothing on it but things done for goodwill of others. You don't have to be so cynical.

>burst poster I didn't know there was a term for this or that it was any recognized phenomenon. I rarely visit more than once a day and not even every day so that's me. >activist poster >could be a communist or MAP ally who derails every single thread into their favorite thing to talk about Around here it's that one retard spamming AynCrap rhetoric to the effect that government intervention into the all high and holy free market caused every single problem since the extinction of dinosaurs, even when the thread wasn't about economics or politics. (I'm sure he'll grow out of it, they usually do)

>>31882 One of the lower levels of initiation to certain mysteries, such as those The Knights represents in SEL, is thus: One must hide the hand doing good works, so well that even the left hand knows not what the right does. Evil may thwart the goodness we do lest we remain shrouded in secrecy. A woman needs a surgery. Her uncle is of an order claiming to descend from "Knights Templar"... Her uncle is an electrician, he hears through the grapevine that a surgeon among his order needs a house rewiring. The woman meets a surgeon who says he will do the expensive work she needs for as much as she can afford. The god of providence smiles.

Rough draft: Conformist <-> Individualist Aggressive <-> Passive Principled <-> Funny Masked <-> Unified The last quadrant means whether you post under multiple personalities/false personality or are consistent with one So, for example >activist poster Conformist, Aggressive, Principled, Unified >thirst poster Conformist, Passive, Funny, Unified >avatar poster Individualist, Aggressive, Funny, Unified >blog poster Individualist, Passive, Principled, Unified >effort poster Individualist, Aggressive, Principled, Unified >necro poster Individualist, Passive, Funny, Masked >drunk poster Conformist, Aggressive, Funny, Masked >vent poster Individualist, Aggressive, Funny, Masked >frog poster Conformist, Passive, Funny, Masked

>>31852 Mix of burst and thirst (maybe call this manic instead) poster I like Lainchan for the slow pace allowing decent discussion of niche topics but also because it is a place that seems to be partially peopled by a lot of kindred spirits, I.e. somewhat disaffected but functioning weirdos that are keeping on, its good being able to mix and match between measured conversation on specific topics and more freewheeling conversations loosely centred around a broader theme. The toxic positivity or negativity that overwhelms most large image boards and forums makes that kind of thing very hard to find
Jim Hilger · 2022-08-03 20:29
>>31992 I love your perspective and you're definitely right. Thanks Lain.

>playwright poster Only a perfect post is worthy of submission, needs to improve it more because he knows a hastily written reply can always be improved. Forgets about posting, might return hour later. Coin toss if he improves post ,actually posts or discards. Someone already replied faster and his reply is unnecessary. Embarrassing.

>>34678 >Anyway, is avatar posting frowned upon in lainchan? What do you think? All avatar users are trannies, and Lain community (fandom) is full of trannies. I'm surprised we don't see more avatar users here.
Hououin Kyouma · 2023-02-23 07:02
I'm curious, do people adopt different posting styles depending on which site they use? I notice I'm a lot more chill and serious on lainchan compared to 8chan moe or other sites that I use. I'm way more of a schizo poster on those.
Naomi Nascimento · 2023-02-23 07:09
>>34735 >Hououin Kyouma Are sure you're not a schizo, Okarin?

Boris Grishenko · 2023-02-23 07:14
>>34736 Funnily enough I've been compared to Okarin irl. I think I'm more like Moeka but whatever. Imageboards are the only places that can put up with my chunni schizo behavior but I feel pretty tame on lainchan.
Eldon Tyrell · 2023-02-23 08:10
>>34738 >I think I'm more like Moeka So you're secretly a cold blooded sociopath...
Tomohisa "Tom" Kanezaki · 2023-02-23 12:37
>>34737 >doxxed You are using this word incorrectly.
Apoc · 2023-02-23 12:51
>>34745 They aren't. If you can recognize a certain window of time when certain types of posts are made, or many are made at once, you can really narrow down the pattern of attention, prose analysis, key words and phrases, other interests. And then begin to look on other forums and chans, find accounts, and so on. It can be done. Although post time and style is just a small part of it, it is part of the picture. Why you would do it? Don't know.
Guthrie · 2023-02-24 06:39
>>34739 Nah, I'm a silent stoic who's addicted to browsing chans on my phone. Literally prefers to communicate by sending texts even if someone's in the same room. I guess the Okarin comparison comes from me babbling paranoid delusions and acting grandiose when I'm going through a high phase, or mania, or just because I've drank too much sody pop. Jesus... I need therapy.
Splicer · 2023-02-24 08:35
>>34769 lol, well i find your chuunibyou behavior rather cute.
Cypher · 2023-02-24 15:09
>>34739 Moeka is a primarily-reluctant dependent type. This category of mostly learned traits have nothing to do with sociopathy. They exist in base form in pretty much everyone, almost exclusively develop through experience, and can abate the same way.
Hacker · 2023-02-24 15:51
burst thirst blog poster. i am deeply upset and sorry but also indescribably lonely. i don't belong anywhere and it shows
Crazy Jake · 2023-02-26 18:56
I'll make a large number of posts when I'm drunk, but rarely post when sober. I rarely drink, so I'm usually lurking. But I feel like I'm on the verge of becoming a genuine alcoholic, so I might be posting a lot more in the future...
Donna Hawthorne · 2023-09-01 02:50
>>31852 >Which type are you? Probably the burst poster. I almost never post anything to any imageboard. Just lurk around. But then once in a while I post on multiple threads multiple times.
Neo · 2023-09-01 05:06
I'm the type of poster who lurks for a very long time until I find a thread or two that piques my interest which usually leads to me spending a significant amount of time writing, reading, re-reading and editing my response until I feel confident enough to hit the "Post" button. The responses themselves tend to be lengthy but I often throw out shorter ones if I feel like doing so. Typos and other errors frustrate me. If there's a name for such a type, I haven't found it yet.
Delilah · 2023-09-01 05:45
>avatar poster avatarfagging is diametrically opposed to the very nature of imageboards imageboards are about the post, not the poster and here you are trying to import somethinawfulesque elitism you fuarrrking benedict and what kind of person so lacks a personality that they have to ape one from a children's cartoon?
Shogun · 2023-09-16 04:18
>>37530 Bad take. First of all, avatarposting is just another way to troll (look how mad you got from the mere mention of it) and trolling absolutely belongs on imageboards. Though, I really don't get why people hate it so much. A dedicated avatarposter who shares their genuine opinion through the filter of the aesthetic/speech patterns of a particular character is high-effort posting and should definitely be encouraged. Plus some people avatarpost to easily find their post later on in the thread. Rather than playing a character they just make a normal post and "tag" it with their waifu. So in that case it's really more about dominating the landscape with one's waifu of choice.
