What's the closest to immortality you can get if you are gonna die in a weeks time? Best I came up with is to store my DNA on a USB and fill out some basic personality and life questions for an AI to later reconstruct me. How do I digitally store my DNA without sending it to some company? What questions would best illuminate my character?

Alternatively, how can one diy a brain reading machine that measures your waves in response to stimuli? Like images or smells

There are cryonics companies, you can arrange with them to be frozen. Legally they can't kill you but you can probably coordinate with them to basically be on their bed already when the time comes so they can operate immediately. It is expensive though, $150,000 or so. Normally one can cover it with life insurance but if they only had a week they wouldn't be able to get life insurance as they wouldn't qualify. Maybe go on as much cryonics related social media as possible and try to get people to donate, as well as do other social media to get people to donate. If you are asking cryonicists for money you can say that the fact that the process is being tested on you makes it more reliable for them when their time comes, so it's in their interest to donate to you and get you preserved. Or if you can afford it out of pocket then I would guess that would be the way to do it.

>Store my DNA?
An entire genome, including all the garbage, is what, a gigabyte or so? It's trivial to store. You probably meant to ask how you could sequence, or obtain, your genome offline.
I only know of this corp:
https://nanoporetech.com/products
Which sells hardware for DNA sequencing. Not cheap, but a reasonable price for immortality.

How do you know that when they reconstruct you, reality would snap into place and act like you're still alive, how are you going to have the same consciousness as you had when you made this thread, and not just the memorys you had, because from the perspective of an atheist, this dosen't make sense, and if we gone into the spirtiual and metaphysical then it would only get stranger.
All im saying is these are some questions to consider, if your end goal is immortality and not cloning yourself.

Be preserved whatever way Lenin was. He's lookin good still. Next best preservation method is plastination. It basically turns you into plastic.

his words were 'closest to immortality'. I think its fair to say a clone is not discernably worse than a cheap chatbot trained on your facebook posts. Its not you per se, but its an effort.
>other thoughts:
-have children (if you're a bloke you can do it in a week)
-do great things
-accept that you may already be immortal, or have immortality granted to you should you win the favour of G*D/gods

Your soul is already immortal.

Interesting question, OP. I think one possibility may be to move into the dreamworld.
Apparently, Carl Jung claimed, firstly, that there is a kind of "dreamworld" as I understand it and, secondly, that some of the people in the dreamworld are actually just as sentient as yourself. By practising lucid dreaming, one can explore the dreamworld and meet these self-aware characters. These characters, when told that they're fake, will ask you to verify that it is in fact you that is dreaming, and not them. Things like that happen.
Anyway, linking this back to the original question, I think, based off of nothing, that it may be possible to either permanently live in the dreamworld or trade places with a character from the dreamworld, so they live in your place with regards to living in and controlling your physical body and you live in the dreamworld. I don't know why I think it's possible that a dream character can assume control of your body, I don't know where I heard this, but it's in my head so I presumably heard it somewhere and so yeah, perhaps, if it is possible, that one could do this permanently.
If this really is possible though, and you switch places and live in the dreamworld, what happens when the body dies? I've long thought that perhaps you would persist in the dreamworld.
Regarding the origins of the place-switch idea, it's possible that I heard it from a Mr. Robert Waggoner. He uncovered some interesting things regarding lucid dreaming, chiefly, that it is possible to communicate with one's own subconscious. Imagine talking to an AI in some kind of VR Sim you're using. It's like that, and more.
Regarding DNA preservation sans companies, I think your best bet is to place a lock of your hair in a jar of oil, and then place the jar in a box, and bury the box somewhere.
Alternatively, I think an excellent method may be to rape a primate.

Your DNA would be very identifiable in the primate-lineage as the only human DNA in the primate. It could be enough to regenerate your whole self.

>Apparently, Carl Jung claimed, firstly, that there is a kind of "dreamworld" as I understand it and, secondly, that some of the people in the dreamworld are actually just as sentient as yourself.
The dreamworlds are you, precisely your higher self but they are "you", you can traverse those worlds to eventually reach your higher self, were you're now is the shared dream called reality, or "material plane" or whatever you want to call it, your higher self is "god" but isn't at the same time, he can't for example put even a small friction of a dent on this reality since we're all here, thats why usually people manifest things like wealth, fortune or a succesful carreer, its because the power required to actually manifest something that would be a logical impossibility would require atleast the couperation of several people if not literally half of this planet, all trying to manifest the same thing, your higher self only has so much power over a world full of other such "gods".
Esentially you're in a world full of "gods" that have the power to create entire worlds, the reason reality is so grounded is because very few actually know this much less actually go trough with it.

to leave a piece of yourself in this world get a service industry job, try to smoke weed with every chick there and get on tinder to maximize your chances. go raw and nut as much as possible. abortions are illegal now.
to try to get to the next maybe read revolt against the modern world and do everything you can to attain the second birth. even if its not real; if you believe it hard enough the DMT that floods your brain when you die will take you there.

>to leave a piece of yourself in this world get a service industry job, try to smoke weed with every chick there and get on tinder to maximize your chances
I think this is a mistaken way. OP said he only had a few weeks time. Can OP really successfully seduce the women working in retail within a few weeks? Can OP even successfully get a job working in the service industry within a few weeks? Because I think those jobs are kind of hard to get.
Can OP get matches on Tinder? Can he get one match with anyone on Tinder, particularly within a few weeks? If OP swipes right on every woman on Tinder, the algorithm will detect this behaviour and, because OP is most likely doing this because he's undesirable and so he must settle for whatever he can get, the algorithm will push OP to the back of the list. All women in OP's area won't even realise that OP was an option because the algorithm basically filtered him out.

If we're all going to give OP these metaphysical options, then I would like to suggest good ol' Catholicism. Even if you don't have time to be baptised, if you're willing to be baptised, you're considered to be baptised in the form of "Baptism of Desire." But yeah, join the Church, and ask God to let you be with him forever.
Of course, you did say "what's the closest to immortality you can get," which implies that you don't believe in any of the spiritual or religious stuff anyone's saying to you. That's fine. I just thought I'd throw in my 2 cents.
In hindsight, I just realised that raping an orangutan isn't actually that easy. The orangutan is either in the wild jungle, surrounded by its fellow apes, or it's in a zoo. Accessing the orangutan in the zoo, and getting close enough to copulate with it would be abnormal. One would have to then either break into the zoo during the night or,with a silenced gun, wait until closing times and somehow covertly kill the zoo-staff members, thereby freeing yourself to rape the orangutan. Perhaps if you hire the local assassins, it's possible?
I honestly think the idea of storing a lock of hair in a buried glass jar of oil and then storing the jar in a strong box was my best idea. It's the most reasonable, and feasible.

Write a piece of good literature, good game, someting for people to remember you for.
Thats how you attain immortality.
