Everyday on my walk home I walk close to this catholic school, they have gay pride flags hung up and stuff. I thought they hated gay people.

Oh boy, I cannot wait for the thought provoking and original ideas this thread is bound to generate. How come I can't find the "like" button though?

I've noticed a lot of places with old industrial buildings, rail yards, lumber mills, stuff like that. The buildings eventually get abandoned but left standing, and some years later a hipster brewery or such venue is opened in the same building, usually misleadingly called exactly what it was called before; 'rail yard' or such. Much the same thing is most likely happening in your example.
