Geocaching

Does anyone else enjoy geocaching? I started with this when I was a kid, but didn't really understand it. Now I am back at it and geocache with my gf. She is pretty interested aswell, and it makes me quite happy. Opinions? Alternatives?

i love soykaf like this, did it for a long time. is like kicking dead whales down the beach that they're doing "geocache premium" or whatever now though. check out letterboxing, geohashing, etc!

I remember doing it when I was a teenager. We didn't have smart phones, so we would either write down or print out a list of geocaches, then use a handheld GPS to find them. Then we'd go back to someone's house and leave reviews on the geocache website we used. It was tons of fun. I remember being shocked at how long the log of geocachers who had found each cache was. There were caches all over the place, too, we even ended up in some woods climbing up a small rock wall to find one. Police sometimes stopped us and asked what we were doing. They didn't know what geocaching was back then, so some would give us a hard time or kick us out of public places, although I'm sure by now that most police departments are aware of it.
