16 more hours before I will get seperated for months from my girlfriend. Things will never be the same. Wish me luck, lainon.
Lain Iwakura · 2022-01-10 06:37
I spent 9 months without mine while she was doing scientific research. If she's the one, you'll be okay.

No, there are good reasons I really have to hurry. She needs someone to take care of her since she's disabled and I'm the only one that can dedicate time to helping her.

Good luck, lain.

>>29475I'm leaving her place because we can't live together in a small apartment. So whether I will ever see her again depends on how much money I'll be making.
Just asked her if she could come over abroad but it's really hard for her since the trip is pretty long.

How long is the trip?

3000 kilometers. And guess what? I was going back home today but got refused at the airport because the form required a fuarrrking phone number from my country (which has to be registered with your ID) and you need to have it verified so random numbers wouldn't work. When I finally had a chance to fill it in with an old friend's number the gate was already closed even though it was meant to be open for 10 more mins. All because of covid bullshit.
So now I'm at the airport on the other side of the country with only my laptop, charger and headphones. It's -15 Celsius during the night and I'm extremely scared of hypothermia.
My girlfriend burned a quarter of her budget on this trip and can't waste any more money while my parents don't even seem to really care about helping me. The next plane is coming in 3 days but at this point I'm doubting whether it's even worth going back to live with such careless parents and whether I should just be homeless in a big city instead.

Which airport? Might be time to make a lifelong lain friend

Please don't.
Living with soykafty parents is still better than being homeless and having to, literally, fight for your life.
You'll struggle to find food,
you'll struggle to find a place to sleep at night,
you'll struggle to no get stabbed by other homeless people with mental illness,
you'll struggle to keep you warm,
you'll struggle even more if you get sick (depending on where you are, can be easier if you're in EU),
you'll struggle to soykaf and take showers,
you'll struggle to get back on your feet when you're older and want/need to get a job/make money.
Please lainon, don't go to the extreme solution.
Take care and I hope you'll stay close to your gf even 3000km away :)
It will get better if you don't give up, talking from personal experience.

Things have drastically improved today. I met some other dude who was voluntarily homeless to save money and he gave me endless tips and tricks on how to survive on the streets.
He has been doing it for months and still looks healthy and mentally stable. I'm actually convinced that at this point I don't even need to go back and can easily manage to stay here for weeks while searching for a job although the cold will suck.

I hope I won't dox myself by saying that I'm in Helsinki, if any lainon is close feel free to hang out with me but don't feel obligated to help.
>food
They have a map of places where they hand out free food. You just go around town once a week to visit all those places and collect food for a week. The dude shared some of his loot.
>sleeping at night
I'm in a shelter. I have to share a room with another person but he's not too bothersome. Only problem is that I have to leave again at 9AM.
>stabbed to death
Today someone was being an asshole in the shelter and they just kicked her out right away. They show no mercy for troublemakers.
>keep warm
This does indeed suck but that's because I'm not wearing the right clothes. There is a church across the street that gives free clothes away and has a gym fortunately.
>sick
I can at least get urgent healthcare without paying soykaf since I don't even have an address.
>soykaf and take showers
Not having soap or shampoo is no big deal.
>want/need to get a job/make money
How is this related? If anything this is the best way to learn discipline. I have to think about what I'm gonna do about my situation everyday since doing nothing means staying homeless. If I get some low-paid job I will have a place to stay, become lazy and stay like that forever. Funnily enough I got an invitation to a job interview today hours after my application but it's something I'm really passionate about so it's amazing news.

Double check the immigration laws to be sure you won't get kicked out in a few months.
Glad your luck is looking up.
