First of all, I think that Internet is great, but while thinking about my life and the world around me I came to a conclusion that there is little constistency (or bettery say stability) present in my life. I see this endless area to explore, since I have access to an incomprehensible amount of information. Even after narrowing it down to simply computer programming I still see no end to it. Not having formed any strong interests (hobbies) during my childhood and school years I often struggle with information overflow when I feel like my brain is on the verge of exploding. Despite this, I still think that having access to too much information is better than not.
How do you, personally, go about using the Internet? Do you limit your use of it? I hear forming habits can be benefitting.

I learned many years ago that the Internet makes everywhere in my country feel the same, so it no longer matters where I am.

This is easy to do, due to a lack of proper discrimination. The true knowledge is actually quite small, once someone knows where and how to access it. Most of this topic is useless filth, and that's why it seems endless. I'm willing to share this information, if this were desired.

I have a website I regularly update. I send emails to other writers. I communicate with others like me, as I'm perhaps doing now. I should limit my use of it more, but don't. I use it to get knowledge of books to order and read, but nothing common or popular; this is a safe place in the increasingly-commercial Internet, rarity and unpopularity.

My secret to information overflow is letting it wash over me. There is no way to learn everything at once, so I just peruse through a bunch of stuff and get bits of data from each dataset. Over time, my knowledge grows out from those solid data points and I learn those subjects in-depth without overloading my mind.

i agree, it's better to have more information. deciding what's useful or not is a matter of understanding occams razor for a specific goal.
personally, i go through periods of taking in a lot of information to lulls of almost no new information. depends what i need or am wanting to learn. open mind like an open mouth. closed mind like a close mouth. an open mouth is only useful when ingesting, etc.
i don't limit my use of the internet, it just happens naturally as i focus on other things. use the internet with a purpose, it's a great tool. don't let yourself stray to mindless indulgence of worthless media content.
one cool way to deal with information overflow is organizing it. tools like roam, or org-roam for emacs, and other knowledge management systems can be great to organize stuff in your head. takes some time to build up and really make use of tho
