InfoSec and underground communities.
Mostly lurking and learning.
>Started with the hacking scene on IRC
>Imageboards, early anonymous raids and /i/ boards
>Then went into the early iOS jailbreaking scene (started on iPhone 1)
>I was around Lulzsec in 2011 (lurking not doing illegal stuff lol)
>Then Silk Road opened and was around that crowd (still lurking, not even buying) early on, a few months before the news article (can't remember the media, maybe it was Wired)
>Stayed around darknet markets for years because you always find new places while lurking around. Lot of Drama, doxing, hacking, it's a scene that attract other scenes (carding, underground chemists, counterfeit experts, fraudsters)
>Nowdays I'm lurking on underground chemists communities. Won't say more because they are small and I want them to remain safe. It's a fascinating world with some really skilled and perfectionist people.
I love to lurk because I always learn new things.
I'm into those communities because they need infosec to survive so if they make a mistake, most of the time they go to trial and we can read how they fuarrrked up in the indictment (when they are in the US), or on news articles.
Really learned a lot on many subjects.
>Sadly this knowledge is useless to find a job and I don't have any diploma in InfoSec

For archaeology, it is reverse engineering to show that people in ancient and prehistoric times were far smarter and wiser than people like to think they were. The Nordic Bronze Age involved the construction of the most accurate lunar calendar of the time in Scania which also showed how the 12 day precursor to Christmas, Yule, was an end of the year festival commemorating renewal of life. It also shows why January 1st is New Years Day.
Also, the craftsmanship before machinery showed practical application of science and math even if no papers were found with formulas. Even a fancy piece of jewelry required understanding of angles meaning geometry even without Greek-style education and terminology.

There are crazier artifacts. The piri reis map
for example shows the the correct coastline of the antarctic UNDER the ice. This would be impossible unless you had satellite tech or lived way way back.
Personally i believe the dinosaur comet story being likely true for humans - big asteroid oneshot civ explains why they got so obsessed with astrology and reverted in tech level with some leftover bits.

>Primitive survival.
foraging and hunting, primitive agriculture, stone and basic metal tools, gradual progression through technology and using nature to its fullest. Chad Zuber is a youtuber that encompasses some of those aspects extremely well.
