>reimplement an broken solution >it works first time why is it working first time? something has to be wrong why does a solution being right the first time unsettle me instead of making me happy? this should be normal

Because you got so used to things going wrong that you cant believe it, maybe thats just me but i think that is normal among programmers. I rarely ever get it right the first time.

>>28183 Don't worry, you'll find some bugs later.

if you are unsure you most likely don't understand your code. Its easy to get lazy and just run autopilot instead of thinking about the algorithm you are implementing and how it should behave. This is what limits success to "it runs" and also creates fear - you didn't think it through so you remain uncertain if its correct and uncertainty creates fear.

>>28189 In this case, it's also partly because I'm using a tool made by someone else that has caused me hours or days of trouble in the past. They updated it and it's amazingly better already, despite a few remaining lil' bugs. >>28186 Yeah, it feels wrong to realize getting things wrong is normalized, but this is in the context of this being a rapid-development hobby program that doesn't matter if it fails 20 times before getting it right, as opposed to designing a bridge or radioactive medical machinery programming.
