Money
The Plague · 2021-08-03 17:34
How do you make money? I'm pretty stagnated and need some ideas.
Background: applied physics PhD, good at programming, Linux.
I dislike having a conventional job. Here are some things that I have tried:
>stock trading: have tried many times with algorithms, always get fuarrrked
>writing a programming ebook: marketing is very hard, 1 person bought after months of effort and I gave up
>upwork freelancing: made some money, but not a lot and clients were assholes
>fiverr freelancing: never managed to make any money
>android development: created some stuff 5 years ago, made a total of $100 or something
I don't know if I am actually just dumb or something, but I seem unable to find a way to make enough money to properly survive

You can collect soykafcoin airdrops, sell them and buy "real" cryptocurrencies when they're low.
Nameless · 2021-08-03 19:41

Get a job in "cyber security" - its filled with non technical people regurgitating the same soykaf they heard in:
1. - a bootcamp taught by someone who doesnt know anything and was following a sheet
2. - they read online somewhere without any understanding of context
just read up on some bullshit CISSP study guide and do a few hack the boxes that are EZ, knock out a cert with answers online, then you win!

Is it possible to freelance this stuff?
Mitnick · 2021-08-03 21:38
invest same way you play poker. Identify idiots and play against them to win -i.e. gme recently or play lots of hands to turn it into pure statistics - i.e eft sitting unmanaged for decade+ / crypto. Generally investing is not worth it unless you already have some cash and can afford yoloing a stack as a longterm project.
On the matter of selling -cheap is not necessary more sales. People believe quality costs a certain prize and if you lowball you can get less sales cause they think its just cheap trash.
Personally i dont think coding books will sell well primarily because as you should know yourself you can find anything already free on the net and coders aren't tech illiterate enough to be unable to find it free. The exception is you make a channel with free stuff and invest the time to grow it and then offer premium content for a price. Cashing in on build popularity seems to work well.

I work evening shifts at a warehouse in fulfillment. I love it since the work is engaging and the pay is over $16 per hour plus benefits. My shifts are 10 hours long and I get three evenings off in a row.
I also have been buying silver troy oz from time to time in the form of bars and sometimes coins for long-term investment and an occasional gram of gold.
I suggest finding a light manual labor job as I have. Otherwise crack open an ATM or go grave robbing. I heard you can sell of femurs online.

Try to find ways to avoid spending money. Only pay for something if somebody if forcing you to pay or it's essential to your survival and basic well-being. If you can weasel your way out of having to pay, do so. Offer to do chores or something instead of paying. Parasitically attach yourself to someone and live in their house.

This guy is probably correct. Being a self-employed freelancer is too competitive these days. Get some low-IQ manual labor job and start saving aggressively.

all money is a pyramid sheme.
And while you still coping with reality others got rich sitting on btc.

No they didn't. Bitcoin isn't money in the useful "medium of exchange" sense. Actually directly spending it without selling it for fiat currency first is extremely uncommon. Bitcoin holders just have glorified gift cards. Let me know when bitcoin advocates start talking about how much BTC they have, instead of talking about how much USD worth of BTC that they have, and then we'll talk about whether it's money.
Gold and silver and other compact valuables like gemstones are the safe bets. They don't require a functioning electrical grid or internet to work, and have worked as proper currency in their own right for millennia. I'm not putting my savings into dunning-krugerrands.

All those words just to say
>Uh nuh the people who multiplied their money didn't get rich
So much cope. Yeah so fuarrrking what, you buy stuff low and sell stuff high, stocks and commodities are no different. And no, gold and silver is NOT a safe bet. it's an instantly losing bet. Gold is literally LOSING against inflation. Don't fall for the gold bug schiff memes. He is literally scamming you with a false narrative to earn money on commissions. PMs are a fuarrrking atrocious "investment".

Offtopic and mostly unrelated to the discussion, but am I the only one who gets really annoyed by the widespread and persistent misuse of the word "cope" and "coping" that has snuck into imageboard speech lately?
Jet Black · 2021-08-29 04:42
>>28145
I agree that people often misuse it, but the person is clearly struggling to accept that they are missing out by saying that you're not making money on bitcoin because you only buy it low and sell it for more fiat, which is literally making money. Irrelevant what people may or may not use the btc for.
>>And while you still coping with reality others got rich sitting on btc.
>No they didn't.
They literally did, and then they excuse themselves away with bitcoin not being used for transactions as if that changes reality that people did get rich. They also ignore that most bitcoin advocates absolutely brag about their btc count. we have the wholecoiner thing for a reason. lol imagine not even having 1 bitcoin.
BloodCat · 2021-08-29 08:19
smart people dont brag about btc because they dont want to become dead people. Read seveal news of fools bragged on fb and got robbed & killed shortly after in their own home. Same already happened before with people posing with stacks of paper so it shouldn't surprise anyone. The other more interesting way to look at this is - even fools managed to hop on the gravy train. So it not about smart/dumb but how risk averse you are. Fear of risk prevents success.
Roy Batty · 2021-08-29 09:03

Of course you're only supposed to brag on anonymous imageboards and get pleasure when people call you a larper when you mention your stack, and then you continue living with unknown amounts offline without that head target.

Amazon huh I quit after a day haha. night shift 10 hour shifts 3 days off. fuarrrk that, I got soykaf to do besides work.

I made 3 grand of crypto without trying at all. I'm saving to dc in now. it's the fuarrrking truth. either get rich or stand on the sidelines being "right" congrats it is a scam hahahahahababa

Remember that kid who bragged about his crypto gains and some floozy of tinder forced him to cum inside her at gunpoint so she could get free money.
>>28144
>Uh nuh the people who multiplied their money didn't get rich
speculation =/= multiplying value. The idea of a currency is that it is backed by a tangible value of goods and services. Its also why people spend all of their currency in exchange for consumer items then complain about generational poverty where it could be avoided.
>>28541
Imagine thinking that your bitcoin will have any value when it comes time to actually acquire goods and services that you need. Nice digital seashells, I'm glad that you can eat them and use them to protect yourself from the elements. People who insist on buying and selling stuff for BTC aside from using it as a medium for currency exchange are just as silly as those who bought tulip bulbs thinking they were going to make it big with them some day.
