Viral torrents are quite well detected e.g. by torrentz2 and their rating.

That literally shows nothing but the VPN outgoing gateway's observed connections by another peer in the torrent, nothing to do with the VPN itself.
If the VPN host itself is found to log, you stop using them, and if you have time and money to waste, you sue them.

Even better, that site shows stuff I know for sure I haven't downloaded. So whatever heuristics it uses for the matching aren't even accurate.

I just checked. The only accurate listings are the ones I'm aware of and not attempting to hide at all, and the inaccurate ones coincide with dynamic IP re-assignation.

It also falsely identifies my connection as static ip, which I know to be false.

Does anyone know how to enter laintracker? I saw a post on a forum telling me to email an account and they would accept me but the email does not exist anymore.
>also
Any other trackers? I've found very useful rutracker and thepiratebay but thats basically it.

I can't find the torrent trackers thread. So here's a new one.
>what trackers do you use for books?
Personally i use thepiratebay but there are some books i can't find. Practically useless for obscure books.
>for music/movies?
I use Rutracker. Nothing much to say.
>other
The mentioned above.
Do you have more trackers?
Does anyone know how to enter laintracker?
Pic unrelated.

library genesis (libgen.rs) for books, rutracker (rutracker.org) for music, nyaa.si for anime or doujin music, filelist (filelist.ro)
I too would be interested in hearing about laintracker. Perhaps this is also a good place to ask: I have a 150GB library that is mostly mp3 320kbps full of music (doujin music for the most part, a significat fraction of it related to touhou, but also a fair share of other stuff). The library is consistently tagged (for the most part) and it has a directory structure of /music/by genre/by album artist/by album (sorted by event or year)/. If I could immortalize it by sharing it with fellow lainons I could die a happy man.

For movies when I don't care particularly about the quality, I always try rarbg first. It's not great but it's consistently okay, like a better YIFY. When I do care about quality, I'm usually looking for QxR or SARTRE releases on 1337x.
I don't torrent books and don't think it makes a lot of sense to distribute them via torrent. Successful book torrents are usually compilations where 99.9% is very outdated and/or irredeemable trash. There are a lot of video courses on 1337x that would have been books 15 years ago but these are again almost all trash. What I wouldn't mind is a source of curated educational courses. Academictorrents is kind of that but not really.

Didn't know where else to post this that allows tor. Are there any guides to setting up a secure environment for pirated 3d art software? Apparently a lot of people have gotten in trouble for using unlicensed copies and I don't want to be one of them. VM/airgapped/DMZ PC is last resort since these sort of things need all the compute they can get and if I could afford another computer I'd just buy the licenses. 3DS Max (needed since all the scenes are in its proprietary format), Substance Painter (ditto for materials), Houdini, ZBrush (ditto for models), Daz3d/Poser (ditto for misc). If I use the free versions legally, am I at risk when importing unlicensed files to export out to Blender? Thanks.

You should still make the base models in Blender, but yeah, Blender + Godot is good.

What people, how they were discovered, what the punishment was. Have you studied their cases? 99% I'm sure it were small to medium businesses that got a visit from cyber police after anonymous tip from employee.
Adobe warez gets fooled by windows hosts file on same system, make sure you download software from scene release trackers or public places where they have reputation, like rutracker. You can set up a whitelist on a router, and boot a second OS with questionable software having access to a whitelisted Internet connection.

How computer literate do you have to be to torrent. How often do people get in trouble for it?

elderly people do it for movies and soykaf.
Getting trouble depends mainly on what you torrent and where you live. Gan often be 0 risk.

>How computer literate do you have to be to torrent
Almost completely illiterate; you'd have to think that VPNs are anonymous. Indeed, torrenting is absolutely midwit tier.
