Every time that I think of the internet it always started with "Oh cool! A piece of technology that would revolutionize the future." But in reality it is the mere somewhat opposite of that. After all the internet is for humans by humans. Humanity will always disappoint, humanity will always fail to live to expectations; we are blinded by our ignorance, by our gut, our brains look for connections and patterns into our abysmal reality of randomness.
The internet has never been beautiful it is just a big puddle like the rock we're living in.

Funny how the internet displays a sprt of recurring course of action by humans.
Consider a social system X. In X, bottom-up self-organization by a flock of individuals takes place. On paper, this society will emerge as a sort of self-regulating egalitarian structure. In practice, quite the opposite happens. A need for standarization, the emergence of hubs in the network where influence aggregates increasingly, and the influx of masses that seek the system for it's benefits but have little regard for it's technical issues or the spirit under which it was conceived, often only seeing in it an opportunity to further their interests (and a convenient open forum to hijack the narrative, or put otherwise a power vacuum), and the old hierarchic l structures start to emerge.

Depressing topics aside, that graphic looks interesting. I figured out part of it says "しい", but what's the source?

How do you know it's random? why is that bad? why won't you change your expectations?

Can you expect the outcome without any doubt whatsoever. No that would be impossible.
