Disclaimer: While it is true that I still post on 4Chan, you needn't worry about me disturbing this site's quality as I only post on 4Chan because it is one of the only places where I can discuss in /vg/ an old MMORPG I still play and I'm trying to get into /m/echa and /m/ seems fairly independent of the typical trash expected from 4Chan
I got range-derezzed on 4Chan. I sought out a VPN for the first time in my life so I could continue posting there. Checking the archives, I found that hide.me was a recommended VPN so I tried that only to find all of its IPs were range-derezzed too (or at least, all the ones I tried) so I googled around instead and found a website that explicitly advertises 5 VPNs specifically for evading 4Chan bans. I was highly skeptical of using a VPN that was conspicuously advertised for its usefulness in ban-evading. It seemed as though, by being derezzed, I was actually being funneled into something more desirable by those who operate the system.
Now, for some reason, now that I'm using one of the recommended VPNs, I have no issue with posting on 4Chan. How can this be? How can it be that the moderators thought to range-ban all of the IPs of hide.me but ignore PrivateVPN despite it being publicly advertised as a good VPN for ban-evading?
It makes me think there's a conspiracy between 4Chan and PrivateVPN. Or, perhaps, 4Chan and PrivateVPN, perhaps even unbeknownst to each other, both serve the same "master", of sorts? I'd like some thoughts on this.

I doubt it.
I recall them having malware ads and bitcoin miner ads so I can't say the admin is above it, but that issue sounds like negligence more than a deal, and the IP banning is because VPNs are usually abused to cause trouble and ban evasion so I doubt they would intentionally allow exceptions. However, the evasion tends to happen more with free proxies or ones the user was already paying for, and I doubt this would be a popular one. I recall hide.me being somewhat popular so I can understand it being b& if another isn't.
It could be worth seeing if you are or aren't on block lists like https://rbl.efnetrbl.org/

Don't trust suspicion, trust science.
Post furry and loli in /aco/ to see if they ban you or not ¯\_ (ツ)_/¯

You should use regular residential proxies that advertise themselves as is, not some soykafware "VPN". Or better, have your own botnet of zombie computers around the world for different localized identities. Regular VPNs hosted in dime a dozed data center virtual servers are easy to spot by their OS TCP fingerprints and autonomous system and are no better than regular Tor exit nodes (free as in beer and Stallmann's feet), they regularly end up in special blacklists, especially ones big websites like 4chan rely on. I'd call it a good luck that some soykafware literally who VPN provider ended up not being derezzed on 4chan, probably too obscure. There is no conspiracy of any sort, it's simply not used by regular spammers to be derezzed or relies on residential exit addresses, have you checked your IP location out of curiosity, it should display residential ISP? If you really believe it's used by 4chan and NSA to spy on you, use Tor before you connect to a VPN or proxy server (not this one of course, it's already tied to your identity of /vg/ poster by all interested parties, the VPN provider surely datamines everything, but if you only use it to access uncontroversial 4chan discussions, I'd say it's rather harmless), don't forget to change your writing style, preferences in topics and online times accordingly, you could ditch posting on 4chan altogether as well.

Just look around, I've posted on the chan with transparent proxies.

OP here. Just reporting that, based off of my attempts, PrivateVPN's IPs are all range-derezzed now, too.
